  • Here’s an update video with my Octane commercial theater seating. The room is 10 x 16. Don’t have the Projector yet but I’m looking at the Epson 12000. BasX MR 7.2.4 Emotiva AV Receiver. Speakers are the Polk 265 RT for the surrounds. The fronts will be the Polk 265 LC. Atmos speakers are the Polk VT60. 106 inch Silver Ticket screen. And Kaleidoscape. The seats are commercial theater seating from Octane.

      I’m going to eventually get a digital poster from you. But I think I will save up first. 😂 Looking for two of them. Are those digital posters ready to go out of the box? The frame around them are amazing.

    Man, this is the fanciest room I've ever seen for a Home Theater! I love the ceiling, and wondering how it was done?

    • @Losttouchjs
      @Losttouchjs  11 месяцев назад +1

      It was done with liquid nails and then tacked up with a Brad gun. You have to set the nail gun to the shallowest setting that you have otherwise it will blow through the PVC. If the gun is set to the right level, you can’t even see the nails. When I touch the ceiling it feels solid, which was the first thing I was worried about. Cutting out the holes for the Atmos speakers and lights was a little bit of a nightmare because of the design. but it worked out good. They don’t have any acoustical value whatsoever other than reflection. 😂

    only thing i would have done different... first row would be my single money seat right in the middle 😅

    I like it. Well done. Well thought through, tick heaps of good design boxes and looks great for a small space. Dimensions? And equipment details?

      @@english9646 Thank you so much! The room is 10 x 16. The room in the beginning of the video will also be remodeled into a lobby. It’s going to have the same carpet as the Theatre. The entrance way into the Theater was actually two closets back to back. The original entrance way into the room was in front on the right side by the screen. I wanted the lay out to be where you had to go through the lobby to get to the Theater. I gave up a lot of usable space for this project and sometimes I even question doing it to this day. 😂

      @@Losttouchjs Since your theater room is already top notch why not the Sony VPL-XW5000ES?
      Epson is a major step down 🤷
      They are similar priced. The epson has the picture quality of an old 1080p plasma. Once calibration is done on the epson you end up with less lumens than the Sony.
      If I were you I would watch some videos on the comparison between the two.
      The contrast and black level on the Sony is twice as good. With such an amazing room it would seem like a downgrade.

      @@kman9387 The Sony 5000 was the first on my list. I’ve seen all the RUclips demos and comparisons and I was convince according to the reviews that’s what I was going to get. And then I did a direct comparisons between the Epson and the Sony at a high in home theater store. In my opinion the Epson won out with the black levels and the overall performance. Deep down inside I know the Sony is better, but the Epson is speaking to me more. Plus it’s cheaper. I’m going to consider the Sony one more time before I pull the trigger. Thanks for your feedback and kind words. 😊

      @@Losttouchjsthe LS12000 is an excellent projector. That is the projector I am getting. I demoed the 5000es, NP5, and the NZ7. The differences are incremental when considering price vs performance. The black levels weren't that far off. In total black out the JVC won, but with light and contrast the Epson had the edge it also had the edge in motion. I liked all of the projectors, I ultimately ruled out the NP5 due to the cost of bulbs and the NZ7 wasn't $4000 better than the LS12000. I was able to get a killer deal on the LS12000 and went with that one over the 5000es. Good luck on your projector search.

    If this was my setup I would bring both rows of seats forward a few feet. Never mind a better surround sound experience. The room acoustics will sound better. And not to mention to mention the bass.

    • @Losttouchjs
      @Losttouchjs  9 месяцев назад

      Both rows will be moved up, but I can’t move them up a couple feet because the riser is not long enough. Meaning that the persons feet would be hanging off the riser. But what I can do is move the seats up probably 6 to 7 inches and get away with it. I think I messed up on the riser and should have made it a little bigger. The theater seats are screwed into the plywood floor. So it would be an effort to move them up regardless of the distance. But that’s what I have planned.

      Anyway the priority front row are fine and as far as the rear row goes. Well, they call them the in-law seats for nothing 😁
