      I grew up in shirk and thought it was normal ( though family called themselves Muslim). After I found my way, I was abused verbally. It was mentally exhausting. Everything I did was scrutinized and family members used to say I think I'm better then them. Ofc I never, I just wanted to end that way of life. Do you regardless of what others say. Thank you for making this video sis. I used to be a makeup artist. It was my job and I was good at it. But the more clients I worked on, the more I understood how much they hated themselves and how much they want to change their appearance. It made me sad to see so many women who couldn't bare to see their faces without makeup. This made me walk away from makeup artistry because I didn't want to propagate the idea that women need makeup to feel/look good. It still astonishes me that we think we will only look presentable in the work place, or the wedding, if we are wearing makeup. We're distorting our God given beautiful faces, just to please others and many of us have yet to realize that. May Allah guide us all.

      powerful, WOW! What an insight! Heck, even socalled "MEN" are going for skinwhitening creams. Shameful. 🤦😬

    • @ugeshnikhan
      @ugeshnikhan 2 месяца назад +1

      @maddiec6186 It was the way they spoke about themselves. The comments they would make about their features and how they wanted it "fixed". How they thought I was some saviour who turned them from ugly into beautiful. How they wished they looked like Kim K or some other celebrity. It was clear that they had attached their worth to their appearance, and they only felt worthy when they were covered in makeup. Some are going further than makeup and want more permanent solutions. The number of young women that want to get lip plumping injections, or "corrective" nose surgery is heart breaking. If this is not a sign of self-hatred, I don't know what is.

I have made Muslim friends and pretty much all of them are not wearing the hijab. I understand that this journey is difficult and that not everybody feels ready to do it, especially when living in a western country, but I just hate to see it that they are wearing make up and dressing in tight clothes.
