Yeah same 😄 i am 16 years old, never wore make up in my life and I don't even want to. Like every single girl in my school wear it. I rather spend my money on skincare than on make up, mascara.... 😄
@@renkomarkova7336 Yes!Yes! . I am now 37 and do not regret "not " wearing makeup. you are much better off taking care of your skin. make up really wears down your skin over time. Plus when you do wear makeup other folks tend to notice the "surprise" of how your features pop. If you always wear make up then when you do go out to an event then there is no surprise, because you are always in makeup. So I really leave subtle makeup up for going out to dinner with my hubby and etc...which is like once a month. Take care
@@ChelseaPutnam I am really happy to see there are RUclipsrs like you, saying "bare face is OK, not being obsessed with perfection and others opinion is OK!" Keep on creating contents like this! There are so many girls and even adult women having insecurities because of all the photoshop and filters the social media is showing us every day.
@@YumegakaMurakumo Thank you very much for your reply :) May I ask if you are Japanese? (I am just guessing because of your name) I am living in Japan since 2012.
As a guy, I've always wondered why girls wearing makeup is so normal. I never quite understood why it's necessary. I think it's good to see women breaking the norm. Much respect.
if you look at social media and how the natural girls are blamed for their "flaws" and the full makeup faces are glorified and celebrated and put as "goals", you will quickly understand.
@@dbz287 because that's what you guys view as beautiful not the natural girls... Guys go for the female with makeup on all the times... And I hope you guys know that's not how they really look cause their face have layer's and layers of makeup on
@@jessicamorton8319 I would say none for everyday things. Like school, work, shopping, etc. For events and parties, even if I don't like it, I'd recommend a little makeup just to not stand out so much. Keeping the use minimal should be the norm. For the long term, it should not be needed at all, but our culture isn't quite there yet. Men aren't wearing makeup, and women are expected to. Where is the equality? If someone suffers from a bad case of acne, using some concealer is understandable. Acne can really distract from anything else good about you, and folks are gonna keep looking at it when talking to you.
Today we live in a society where the discourse is "be yourself" but the industry keeps pushing girls towards a never ending spiral of insecurities and make them waste money to solve those insecurities. Let's not be part of this machinery
Before coming to this vdo I saw a vdo where a women was yelling at men who liked women without makeup My girlfriend also like makeup so much and I don't like that look she looks complete different ever her skin tone changes Actually we don't hate makeup...some makeup is okay for both men and women .....but when the original and makeup look completely differs that is so annoying ...many women don't understand it
A lot of women get treated horribly when they are not wearing make up. Especially at work. I used to not wear make up but men would make horroble comments about me. It even affects your career.
The same thing happened to me with acrylic nails. One day I said out loud “my hands are ugly without nails.” And that’s when I knew something needed to change.. haven’t had my nails done in 3 years and I’ve saved so much money and my nails are finally healthy!☺️
I think every woman should do what is best for them. Me myself.i always wear mascara and blush and lipgloss and sometimes lipstick Though. I don't wear anything else on face. I wear organic makeup at times. When I go out some where nice. I am still trying to ween myself from not wearing makeup period. I think it is good to not wear makeup for some woman. I am trying to not wear it at all. I do feel like I love myself more. When I don't wear makeup on my face. Plus. Makeup cost a lot of money. That's how all of these rich people make money off of woman. Who chooses to wear makeup. They are the ones who are being rich. These companies sellaleup for woman. Wanting them to wear it. So the rich can get richer and the middle class poor keeps on getting poorer. Instead of being middle class. And making it in the world. It is no different then buying a new car. It's good to buy a new car if you ever had one before. Though. If you are so use to buying a car all the time that is totally brand new and you are still able to drive your old car longer. Until the car no longer works. Then. It's good to buy a nice car that you want That is newer or new. These car companies are no different then women wanting to spend a lot of there money on makeup. These companies get so rich off of people that sometimes can be nieve. I would rather not wear makeup and savey money for something better in life. That will benefite more Same thing goes for me buying a car. I would rather drive a old car. Until it drops and then buye a better newer car to drive. Some people in life are suckers and some are not At all. You have to know what is best for you Everyone is different. And that's how life is No one is the same Whatight be good for some.ay not be good for everyone😊
I was sent home from work when I was 17 because I'd come to work without makeup on. My female boss told me I looked "awful" and sent me home to put it on. I'm in my fifties now and only just beginning to feel at ease without wearing makeup. I'm glad you became liberated while you're still young. ❤️
My boss called me a fat pig to my face, and she treats others terribly that people come and leave really fast because of her. She is paid, but We are all volunteers and we didn't get paid to take that negativity.
I was passed up for a promotion by a male boss. When I asked him why he said it was because I didn't put in enough effort. I asked him what gave him that impression? I loved that job and I went above and beyond. He said "no, your appearance. You don't put on makeup or anything."
I've never worn makeup, but lately watching everyone around me put on makeup has slowly started getting to me, even though I've never previously felt the need to. Hearing your experience helped me anchor myself again and reminded me to love me for how I already look! Thank you so much ❤️
If I had perfect skin like you I would never wear make up again. I just have SO much acne scaring and hyperpigmentation and anything I've tried to do to fade them, they just come back :(
I have acne scars, i have bags under my eyes, I don’t have the “perfect” nose and I don’t wear makeup (unless if im going to some party or wedding, etc). Mom is so concerned abt me since I don’t wear makeup at 17 yo but i keep convincing her that it’s ok bc i wanna people to see me clearly, if someone would dislike me bc of my imperfections then I don’t want them in my life anyway (she seems to understand and show more love) 😂🤷🏻♀️
Honestly you should embrace the imperfections you have because it shows you're human. We all have insecurities but covering them up will only decrease our self confidence. Maybe try using skin tints every once in a while instead of foundation and you'll see you can still looks beautiful without hiding your scars. (I'm sorry if you find anything I said insensitive I genuinely want you to feel better in your own skin)
i perfectly understand you, the non-makeup wearers are actually more superficial that makeup wearers, to some makeup is a therapy or maybe they are not comfortable in showing a scar...
I don’t understand why women often have to explain why they don’t wear makeup- men don’t need to explain, it’s just kind of accepted that they don’t wear it, so I wonder why the same doesn’t extend to women too.
We dont have to its just nice to talk about it and say how you feel on the subject and it also helps people who are struggljng to feel positive abour it
i never wore make up. Never. I have no idea even how to buy it, nevermind putting it on my face without a making a mess. Well, i am 41 now and people think I look younger. When I think about make up (in me) I feel like cheating, hiding my flaws. All I do is mascara because I have long eyelashes and sometimes they look "sad" and I have to lif them up
I started wearing makeup at 12. Now I’m 18 1/2 and I’m over makeup… I don’t care anymore, I find that when u stop wearing makeup I focus more on skincare and my skin has been looking a lot better! I cleared my acne and now I can go about my day with just sunscreen and some eyebrow powder. I feel so much happier! I finally feel free! Update May 27th- I am still strong no makeup.. I quit fake eyelashes and now I actually look my age 😂when I wore lashes I could pull it off as 20 which is good in places like the workplace etc… but it gets annoying to always put them on… I’ve also noticed I am less intimidating to men… I’ve had more men approach me which is so weird but I think it’s because they see I’m more easy too talk or softer I guess. There’s days where I wanna cake my face so bad… but ya know what I’m staying strong fuckkk beauty standards ! We are beautiful with naked faces
This video actually made me cry because what you described is exactly how I feel. Would have been cool if you shared photos of how you looked when you were younger just to show how far you’ve come.
It's so sad that it actually doesn't matter if people see you as pretty or not, if you cannot accept yourself as you are , this is the biggest tragedy. I started wearing makeup around 11 and three days ago I decided to go foundation free. It is hard but I want to do it. I hope I can go makeup free one day. Thank you for sharing your story. ❤ I cried listening to your video. You inspired me
@@adelaidequeenpink8677 I am foundation free since then 🥰 i still have acne problems, but it's way better. Hope everyone who wants to stop using foundation finds the strength to be confident without it.
I used to wear makeup everyday and I was so insecure, I remember getting so nervous about if I had to sleep in another place with friends because they would see me without makeup. I thought just people who were born with perfect skin could go makeup free and I have always had oily, acne prone sensitive skin. Since quarantene being at home all the time I started to stop wearing makeup, my skin was doing great because I was learning so much about skincare and I started to like my face more without makeup. Now I feel like I was reborn I’ve never been more self confident in my life 🥰
I haven’t always work face makeup but I’ve always worn eyeliner or mascara but I want to love myself without it and today I really am. I don’t need it. But I now work at a spa and they are big on makeup and I feel I might find them pressuring me to wear it. I think we all look great without makeup and what makes us look amazing is our smiley faces and bright happy eyes. That’s what I see as beautiful
Im crying by watching this video. Im 20 and I hate to put make up on but I thought im ugly without make up. Even if I look ugly, im going to quit this....
I only wear light makeup when im in the mood. Im bare faced. My boyfriend gets annoyed when i have makeup on. He says i like the way you do your makeup but you truly dont need it. I like your face bare. Im glad he thinks that.
this video truly truly spoke to me. i also started wearing makeup at 12 and i still am "addicted" to wearing it so much and i also do a full face of makeup literally everyday. you might have had a huge impact on my future. thank you for your words.
Yes I spent thousands on make up. I started at 12 and was addicted to it as well. It was actually the Lord who gave me a dream that caused me to become convicted and now I totally stopped and that is a miracle!!
Thanks for the video! I haven't worn makeup for almost four years and what I find most difficult is when people who knew me when I did wear (tonnes of) makeup don't recognise me or make comments about how I look 'different'. To this day I'm still unable to let these comments pass without taking them personally :(
You’re beautiful & wise. At 73 I’ve just recently stopped wearing anything but a tad of powdered blush & light lipstick/gloss. It’s very freeing after a lifetime of experiencing just what you described re: time, planning for activities, etc. Blessings!
I’ve never dated someone that isn’t comfortable leaving the house without makeup. I find women that go all natural most of the time are more confident and more fun. They are free and accepting of who they are and that is incredibly sexy.
Tbh though you are naturally physically beautiful, there are a lot of women who don’t necessarily fall into that category without makeup. I personally am not a fan of makeup because really it’s just a mask, it’s a fake beauty rather then a natural one and it’s not the same. I have found natural femininity far more attractive then the clownish looks that a lot women think are trendy, the Kardashians just look like barbies at this point and unfortunately everyone wants that look.
I have just today decided to stop wearing make up. I have become too dependent on it to make me feel confident but it is also making my skin worse and irritated. Thank you for uploading your video, it has inspired me to believe in my decision and go ahead with it x
I'm a guy who's watching this video cause once a girl told me that the reason why girls wear make up is to accept themselves and I was so confused , like I knew what was her point of view but the way of acceptance didn't felt right to me , like my understanding of it is different and I'm here to see whether girls also think like me
I've been working on minimalizing my life and having only essential possessions and all day I've been kind of battling myself to throw out all my makeup.. just did it 6 minutes into this video. thank you for sharing your story! without makeup my eyelashes are blonde and my nose isn't contoured but it is my face and I need to be real with myself and become comfortable with my natural face
You’re beautiful 💜 I never got too into makeup, I was an ugly duckling and late bloomer and ppl would say makeup wouldn’t matter. I’m no longer a ugly duckling but I still like being natural. I do eyeliner just on the top lid and gloss. Thank you for sharing
I'm 48. My skin isn't perfect. I have rosacea and wrinkles and pores and a normal human face. I stopped wearing makeup, (Other than mascara) a year ago and I love this video. My face is normal and okay and worthy of being in public without makeup. I feel comfortable in my own skin. It's not about who is or isn't attracted to me. It's about me liking me.
"Starting..just, soaking in the beauty of life". Thanks for sharing; I started not wearing makeup like a year ago, and I feel like I just recently started to love myself and really understand how I really look like, and that quote of yours is exactly how I feel right now, I'm getting much more into health and skincare, and be free. I was no longer confined to something to feel myself. I love this! It's amazing that you had this realisation at 17 and how strong you are for committing to your goal. I love that you care for yourself with unconditional love, it's glorious. Love yourself without conditions. Thank you!!
And I’m not at all implying that others do! I was giving a compliment. Sheesh, chill. We are all perfect bc God doesn’t make trash...but I still don’t understand wtf with mosquitoes. Where do they fit into the divine plan. Fuk’rs

Crazy how you felt like that growing up and you choosing to wear makeup. You look so fresh and young and absolutely beautiful! Thank you for sharing your story ❤
As a man, I am attracted to the biology of women, and I've always found make up to be a distraction to that. Whenever I've expressed that I am attracted to women without makeup, it seems to upset a lot of women, who tell me they don't wear makeup for men's sake. Okay, I never claimed they did. Thank you for this open and honest video! I can tell how sweet your soul is.❤ My journey with makeup began when I was young. I have a twin sister that my Mom always favored and my Mom once said to me," Your sister can get a way without wearing make-up but you can't." (We are not identicle twins.) I have never forgotten that, and to make it worse for me, my husband only ever compliments me when I'm wearing make-up. He doesn't realize it🙄 but it sure does sting. I'm done with worrying over it though. My face is my face. Accept me as I am or walk away.✌️
I absolutely love how you smile and tell us about your difficulties with makeup. You are not alone ma'am, if no one is there, I am still gonna support you because I myself stopped using makeup for almost the same reasons.
I'm 20 and I actually like myself best without makeup, but I was always told at home that if I don't wear makeup, I don't dress up. I've always loved seeing when someone doesn't wear makeup. I've always felt like I didn't look pretty when I didn't wear makeup, but your video made me feel so much better and changed my whole way of thinking. Thank you so much for the great video! I want to try to slowly move away from makeup and find myself beautiful with all my flaws. Thank you so much! ❤️
Oh my god! This video really touch me 🥺 I totally understand you, I feel you a lot. I started using makeup when I was 13 years old too, and I’m the process of trying to stop wearing make up. You can imagine how this video helps me!🤍
I really enjoyed your video 🙂 tomorrow I'm giving this a try. I have been feeling trapped by makeup lately and it has not been feeling good. Thanks for your inspection and boost of confidence ❤️
I absolutely love this video. Thank you so much Chelsea. I just started considering eliminating my makeup usage, and this has encouraged me more. Love and light
I chould never change anything on my body, not even lip fillers. I even shaved my head and grew out my natural hair color beacuse hair dye made me feel fake. For me, hair dye is some sort of makeup/filter. I wish natural beauty will be in one day, it would do so good to the world ❤️
I really appreciate this video. I’ve been contemplating going makeup free for a few months now, and never had before. My story with makeup is very similar to yours, I started wearing it at age 13 because I was so excited to “fix” my face with makeup. Fast forward through years of learning technique and what worked for highlighting my features, I realized that I was ashamed of my natural face. So I’ve started with a gentle approach, only wearing makeup a couple times a week. I’m not sure if I’ll ever go completely makeup free, but there’s a part of me that feels like I may never accept myself if I don’t stop covering my insecurity and shunning my real face.
Thank you for sharing your story Estee ❤️ just know that it may feel like something that feels so far away at times, but the spark of self love is always within you - and as you unwind the habits of needing to fix something that is already perfect, you’ll eventually fall deeper in love with yourself than you could have ever imagined :) I believe in you!
Lovely video. I used to wear a full face of make up. Now I only wear mascara, and I intend to give that up soon. I never thought I’d give up my lipstick but I did. It feels very liberating after the initial fear of bearing your bare face. It did something on a deeper level which I’d not anticipated. Thank you for sharing.
This is such a beautiful video, it has made me so happy, thank you! I've been slowly wearing less and less makeup over the past couple of months for the first time in years and it's so amazing, you explained it perfectly! I hated how insecure I was before and how judgmental i was of other people too (that was the worst part, I always picked apart other people's faces and was so judgmental of appearances). I've learned that makeup that covers up your skin (foundation, concealer) is especially harmful for the psyche bc it's meant to hide "flaws" which only makes you more insecure like you said. I still love wearing lipstick though, I have so much fun putting it on, and I love my little collection. Notice what you notice in others, I would never judge someone else or myself for not wearing lipstick, so I know I don't wear it out of insecurity. That's how I can tell what's okay to use and what isn't.
Thank you, awesome words. Super needed to hear this Currently not wearing makeup on the way to work, because I have a stye in my eye. It’s a recurrent stye. I found myself wanting to hide the star that I put some eyeliner on and I felt it hurts even more so I immediately took off my make up and thought wow I am willing to make my eye worse or be in pain even more because I feel so insecure without it, so I took off the make up and decided that I am going to not wear make up as much as I used to. I do agree it is refreshing to see others without make up and there’s been times where I’ve complemented other girls that don’t wear make up how great they look
I haven’t been able to leave my house without makeup at all the last year and this year :( I feel so ugly. I don’t even like my face with makeup anymore. I really want it to change though, I’m just so scared. Everyone’s used to seeing me in it. What if they don’t like me when they see me without it? What if they say something or look at me weird cus they don’t recognise me. I feel so obsessed with looking pretty but I feel like it’s not me when I’m dressing up. When I get compliments it doesn’t feel like they’re for me, it’s for this alter ego who wears makeup. Now I’ve gotten this allergic reaction on my face so I can’t really put makeup on and I do not want people to see me. I’m going to try going out a few times with very minimal makeup, maybe one day I’ll be able to go out with nothing on my face. It’s just that I haven’t had a lot of people like me growing up and everyone got a lot nicer when I got “prettier.” Especially the more weight lost. Wish me luck ig :/
Good luck on your journey. I had to give up make up as it caused so much irritation, especially on my eyes. It was very difficult to give up mascara, especially since I wear glasses. I always felt ugly compared to other women but as I've got older I have learned to accept my looks. I can still wear lipstick 💄 which makes a huge difference. I now dislike heavy makeup and love to see women looking natural ❤
I looked this video up because today I went to put on makeup since I was ACTUALLY needing to leave the house today... and it looked terrible to me. Like a weird washed out ghostly painted dry patchy face. I also noticed that when I put it on on rare occasion now, that it irritates my skin so badly. I washed it right off, applied a tad bit of tanning water, lip gloss, and I was amazed at how much better I felt without that paint mask on when going out. Before Covid I spent thousands on tons of makeup. What a waste of money. Now I spend my extra money on workout clothes and lounge comfy clothes, clothes that make me feel good, as well as my diet and things that look nice to me in my home. I still use skincare but I keep it to a few things that work well for the most part. Instead of whitening strips I use simple hydrogen peroxide. I don't dye my hair. Funny thing is, I just remembered that my horoscope was 'cancer, feel beautiful with or without makeup. Period. So funny.
This video is beautiful. Thank you for sharing this part of your journey. I resonated so much as I am now one month into my own makeup free journey. It’s a challenge because makeup was my first career and I have loved doing it on others so much but I have hope. I wish you well ❤️
Anyone especially a man and especially if it's a man you're dating and you decide to go the natural route and this man tells you, "you look so beautiful when you wore make-up" dump his ass! 😂
I wore make-up when I was 20 then stopped after 6 years. I didn't wear any for years I'm now 52. I've recently started wearing a little makeup again. But it's just a little concealer for my age spots, a little blush and lipstick or lip balm. My boyfriend passed away in May and it has given me a little confidence.
You are so peaceful. When I see you speak I feel so much calm within. I don't like to wear make-up too. When I do make up for programs, I feel like I put a mask on my true self. You are so right❤ I just discovered you. So happy I found you. Subscribed right away❤
You do not need make up at all you have natural beauty and are a beautiful person and that's beautiful how you are embracing a person of their true value more people should have the same thinking.God bless you
I really appreciated this video and your articulate explanation of your journey and the advantages of not wearing make-up: physical, spiritual, mental, emotional. I am a totally different age from you, but also have commenced this journey, having started wearing makeup daily at the age of 13. It has always been a cover, to feel acceptable, to feel attractive, but I just got sick of it, plus the eye makeup was irritating my eyes, regardless of the brand I wore. So now I wear none. Again, it is freeing. Lots of negative comments from people: that I look ill, I look washed out, I look tired, etc but I actually don’t care; well, I do, but not enough to start up again. I think this is freeing; this is me. And like you said, I love seeing other women with no make-up; this is who we really are. I still do what I can to look presentable, but just no make-up. And I love this raw reality.
It’s as if you took my thoughts and life experiences and made it into a RUclips video 🥹. Recently took professional photos w/o makeup and I got so much criticism for it but I’m trying to stay strong and accept the face God gave me ♥️
i started wearing makeup when i was 12 also, and that was 32 years ago. i wanted to look better and feel better about myself. and know i feel like the makeup have made to a makeupslave, if i want to go out and buy some bread and milk i need to have my eyebrows done and some mascara , if i dont i feel naked and ugly. i wish i could think like you do.
I just stopped wearing the "heavy" make-up... Only a bit concealer, filled in eyebrows, eyeliner and a bit bronzer, really simple. And when I put it off at the end of the day I still recognize myself unlike back then :)
This video is sooooo underrated!! You deserve way more views imo. You look stunning, I completly agree with what you are saying in here. Thank you for your honesty :D
I was thinking about this constantly and then I have just watched this video and all the thoughts that in my head has grounded now n makes so much sense thank u so so much 💛💛
Thank you so much for your thoughtful video. While the video is a couple years old now, I've made the leap to go make-up free, so I found it upon a search. Every single thing you said was always me, as well. I wish I had been as mature as you when I was younger to do this earlier. i'm 36 and in a very public-eye-related job. I guess you could say I took it in steps. For years, I stopped wearing makeup on the days I wasn't at work. That was a big leap that didn't happen until I was in my 30s. I've always been athletic and outdoorsy, yet, in my 20s, I would still put on makeup to camp, or spend the day outside, or run, go to the gym, etc. Full face was preferable. Silly when I think about it now. This past week, I JUST made the leap to go make-up free while specifically at work. This one was a big deal and one that I didn't think would EVER happen. It's been completely liberating in every way and has also been an interesting social experiment! The compliments I receive now feel so much nicer and genuine. I used to get compliments on how my "eyeliner is on-point" and "how pretty" I am, etc. What I started to find is that I didn't even really consider these compliments as true compliments because I knew that my face was caked with makeup. While well-meaning, these people were just complimenting my makeup... not really me. I started to feel annoyed by ANY compliments while wearing makeup! I think this realization is what led me to make the jump to go makeup free on all days, not just non-work days. I think it takes time to get used to seeing your own face without makeup on. It's such a crazy concept! I'm still getting used to seeing myself in my work uniform without a full face of makeup, but I am loving it. I truly do feel like I have so much more time to just live my life without worrying about what I look like.
Wow wow thank you so much for sharing this reflection 🙏🙏 I deeply resonate with this, and it is so lovely to hear about this self love journey that you are on!! Thanks for listening 😊❤️
I’m so glad I came across your channel! I can relate to every single word you’ve said in this video. I stopped wearing face makeup (foundation, concealer and powder) about 2 years ago. Recently I’ve completely ditched makeup and I’m only using jojoba oil as a moisturizer. My skin, wallet and the planet Earth are equally happy 😉
Bravo, you :) I gave up on make up a while back. But then, I've had some health issues in the last few years that not only caused premature aging on the face but also pigmentation, redness and texture changes. Even the skin color has changed, I've lost the glow I had. I have been careful with skincare so it's been difficult this happened anyway. That's how interconnected the body is. My appearance has made me very self conscious, and shy; I hide behind the mask and I'm afraid for the time we can finally stop wearing them. So tempted to try makeup again in my 40s, but I know it'd only be to assuage insecurities. Am also lazy lol. Not needing to spend time or money on make up routines is rather liberating. Hopefully as my body heals (ever so slowly), I'll find some way to make peace with how I look.
Thank You for this video. I literally put on makeup everyday even when I have a night shift at work - no customers, nobody sees me, and I still worry I look bad without makeup. Its 1st of march so I'll try to not wear makeup this month ❤️
Wow couldn't relate more to the first half, cuz I'm still in that cycle and I don't know how to break out of it. I tell myself I'll stop wearing makeup everytime i go out when my skin clears up, or when im in a better place mentally but sadly that never happens. But thankyou for this video, such a kind initiative🥺 Also you're so prettyy❤️
I wish I could do what you do in the future but for now I am keeping my lip balm, blush, concealer, brow pencil, brow soap, mascara, highlighter, contour stick, powder and eyeshadow. I hope it's not too much. i always wear no make up make up look everyday. Thank you so much by the way for this video.
I started wearing makeup in my 20s and it was a choice I made as a fully grown person with developed personality and set of values. It's just for fun, sometimes to make me feel better, sometimes to express myself artistically. But it doesn't define me. Personally I think that 12yo is way too early. It doesn't have too but it can be very dangerous for mental health of a teenage person, especially if there are no adults around who could explain things. I have a daughter and if one day she tells me she wants to do makeup I'll help her and talk to her about it and let her make an informed decision.
Thank you for sharing you story, Magnolia. I love how healthy your relationship with makeup is, and I really commend you for that:) So important to just do what is best for you, whatever that may be. Thank you for listening:)
@@ChelseaPutnam I forgot to mention that I really liked your video and want to thank you for talking about it and I hope that a lot of people watches it, especially younger ones :)
In the summer, I got to wearing mascara, sunscreen, lip balm, that’s it. I sometimes will go without makeup except sunscreen year-round on the weekend, and I feel like I’m giving myself a break. I haven’t worn foundation for at least fifteen years though. When I wore foundation, I broke out all the time. I’m not quite ready to go without makeup completely at work, but I do wear the minimal. When I do, I feel a bit naked and vulnerable, however healthier and younger.
Yo nunca aprendí a maquillarme, así que no me maquillo. Si tengo algún evento importante como boda o graduación, acudo con una maquillista, así que uso maquillaje menos de una vez al año. 🙂
I love make up but same as you, I’ve been wearing it for so long. Now that I’m in my early 20s, I’m tired of feeding the insecurities. I’m getting much more into skin care. I reached a point too where I had to be like dude, don’t go to school with make up on. it’s okay. I’m getting really into tinted sunscreen rather than foundation that just covers up my insecurity.
But at the same time, I LOVE glitter and glitter eyeshadows. So I struggle between wanting to wear those eyeshadows but also fighting the feeling that I’m prettier with them on if that makes sense?
You are blessed that you have the kind of face that doesn't need it, your eyelashes are doing the job nicely. I can see how some women could get tattoo-liner as an alternative to eye liner make up. Remember the sun is a nuclear reaction that ages the skin (better to be pale than wrinkled and spotted later in life. ;-)
My experience: wearing makeup from the end of highschool and for more two year was enough time to realise that i had to stop. My conclusions: -makeup does never look natural in real life and daylight no matter the product -it doesn't improve the skin it's just making texture look worse -it has so many unnecessary chemicals that can damage your skin, trigger ance, make skin oily -Its so much better to spend money in good quality skincare products instead of makeup. (Just 2-3 step routine) My skin never looked better 😊
I had an emergency eye surgery to prevent blindness. I realized what i need and don't, for makeup, haircare, skincare, food, sleep, friends... now I only wear CC cream, highlighter, and lipstick or lipbalm. The letting go of makeup, among other things, has been very freeing, despite the trauma.
Im not into makeup but im really into skincare

Take care
yeah same, ive only ever worn blush and concealer, but they are all makeup skincare hyrbids
Went from makeup to priority is skincare.
Sunscreen, mascara and lipgloss, that's all I wear. NO foundation, concealer or powder! My skin and myself feel so free and fresh.

As a guy, I've always wondered why girls wearing makeup is so normal. I never quite understood why it's necessary. I think it's good to see women breaking the norm. Much respect.
Same.
if you look at social media and how the natural girls are blamed for their "flaws" and the full makeup faces are glorified and celebrated and put as "goals", you will quickly understand.
@@dbz287 because that's what you guys view as beautiful not the natural girls... Guys go for the female with makeup on all the times... And I hope you guys know that's not how they really look cause their face have layer's and layers of makeup on
From your perspective as a guy, how often do you think the girls should wear make up like when and where?
@@jessicamorton8319 I would say none for everyday things. Like school, work, shopping, etc. For events and parties, even if I don't like it, I'd recommend a little makeup just to not stand out so much. Keeping the use minimal should be the norm. For the long term, it should not be needed at all, but our culture isn't quite there yet. Men aren't wearing makeup, and women are expected to. Where is the equality?
If someone suffers from a bad case of acne, using some concealer is understandable. Acne can really distract from anything else good about you, and folks are gonna keep looking at it when talking to you.

@@valeriataylor8337 whew I felt this so much. so true.
@@valeriataylor8337 I agree! No one needs makeup we are all fine just the way we are. Men aren't ridiculed when they don't wear it why should women be
Before coming to this vdo I saw a vdo where a women was yelling at men who liked women without makeup
My girlfriend also like makeup so much and I don't like that look she looks complete different ever her skin tone changes
Actually we don't hate makeup...some makeup is okay for both men and women .....but when the original and makeup look completely differs that is so annoying ...many women don't understand it
A lot of women get treated horribly when they are not wearing make up.
Me myself.i always wear mascara and blush and lipgloss and sometimes lipstick
Though. Then. It's good to buy a nice car that you want
That is newer or new. These car companies are no different then women wanting to spend a lot of there money on makeup. These companies get so rich off of people that sometimes can be nieve. I would rather not wear makeup and savey money for something better in life. That will benefite more
Same thing goes for me buying a car. I would rather drive a old car. Until it drops and then buye a better newer car to drive. Some people in life are suckers and some are not
At all. You have to know what is best for you
Everyone is different. And that's how life is
No one is the same
Whatight be good for some.ay not be good for everyone😊
I always think that girls look so much better without makeup. You look absolutely gorgeous without it, Chelsea!
Ewww that is so disturbing. What is wrong with people??
My boss thought I had been crying when I she saw me without make up. Nah, sorry this is just how I look 😭
I was passed up for a promotion by a male boss. When I asked him why he said it was because I didn't put in enough effort. I asked him what gave him that impression? I loved that job and I went above and beyond. He said "no, your appearance. You don't put on makeup or anything."

Tbh though you are naturally physically beautiful, there are a lot of women who don’t necessarily fall into that category without makeup. I have found natural femininity far more attractive then the clownish looks that a lot women think are trendy, the Kardashians just look like barbies at this point and unfortunately everyone wants that look.

I have never forgotten that, and to make it worse for me, my husband only ever compliments me when I'm wearing make-up. He doesn't realize it🙄 but it sure does sting.
I'm done with worrying over it though. My face is my face. Accept me as I am or walk away.✌️

Thank you for sharing your story Estee ❤️ just know that it may feel like something that feels so far away at times, but the spark of self love is always within you - and as you unwind the habits of needing to fix something that is already perfect, you’ll eventually fall deeper in love with yourself than you could have ever imagined :)

That's how I can tell what's okay to use and what isn't.
aww wow Caroline, thank you so much for sharing your story. Such a beautiful and honest reflection:)
Thank you, awesome words. Super needed to hear this
Currently not wearing makeup on the way to work, because I have a stye in my eye.
I haven’t been able to leave my house without makeup at all the last year and this year :(
I feel so ugly.

Period. So funny.

Recently took professional photos w/o makeup and I got so much criticism for it but I’m trying to stay strong and accept the face God gave me ♥️
This is how I am it's so nice to hear you talk about this.
i started wearing makeup when i was 12 also, and that was 32 years ago. i wanted to look better and feel better about myself. and know i feel like the makeup have made to a makeupslave, if i want to go out and buy some bread and milk i need to have my eyebrows done and some mascara , if i dont i feel naked and ugly. i wish i could think like you do.
All I have is a tinted red lip balm which i use on lips and my face to getva sunkissed glow and that's it!
I just focus on sleep, water intake, intense moisturization, ice rolling, icy eye mask, castor oil on eyelashes....that seems to do the trick
You look so clean and beautiful! I just started to not wear any make up too, it’s freeing. = )
I am a man and i tell you, you still look good without it! Show your true self! Everything else is a deception.
I was thinking about this constantly and then I have just watched this video and all the thoughts that in my head has grounded now n makes so much sense thank u so so much 💛💛
Thank you for listening!! so happy you resonated with it:)
I love this video, thank you so much for your words... ❤️
Thanks for listening 😊❤️
really amazing content.. great videos in your channel.. i admire your braveness and purity.. you're such an inspiring person.. keep it up❤️
I’m so glad I came across your channel!
Yes!! Wow very similar story for me as well! I only use jojoba oil on my face- nothing else :)
With covid-19 I have barely used any makeup and my skin has actually improved. I still like to wear mascara sometimes tho
@@moskaaa_.h.6014 :Just stop.
How did you get on?
This is how I feel
Wow couldn't relate more to the first half, cuz I'm still in that cycle and I don't know how to break out of it. I tell myself I'll stop wearing makeup everytime i go out when my skin clears up, or when im in a better place mentally but sadly that never happens. But thankyou for this video, such a kind initiative🥺
Also you're so prettyy❤️
I love how healthy your relationship with makeup is, and I really commend you for that:)
So important to just do what is best for you, whatever that may be.
Thank you for listening:)
@@ChelseaPutnam I forgot to mention that I really liked your video and want to thank you for talking about it and I hope that a lot of people watches it, especially younger ones :)
@@magnolia3576 thank you so much:) that is so sweet
Remember the sun is a nuclear reaction that ages the skin (better to be pale than wrinkled and spotted later in life. ;-)
This is so inspiring. Thank you!
My experience: wearing makeup from the end of highschool and for more two year was enough time to realise that i had to stop.
My conclusions:
-makeup does never look natural in real life and daylight no matter the product
-it doesn't improve the skin it's just making texture look worse
-it has so many unnecessary chemicals that can damage your skin, trigger ance, make skin oily
-Its so much better to spend money in good quality skincare products instead of makeup. (Just 2-3 step routine)
My skin never looked better 😊
I love wearing makeup for Halloween. And Comic-Con. I'm thinking about starting to go make up free though by daily purposes
I turned 50 and thought I’m done with make up , coloring my hair, nails etc. ❤❤❤
I sometimes wear mascara but thinking of stopping. Does make my eyes pop though
WOW,, THE BEST VLOG ON GOING MAKEUP FREE... ❤❤❤
This was wholesome & empowering ❤
