  • Whether you're new to 3d printing or an expert, don't breathe the dust associated with sanding and post-producing 3d prints. Always wear a mask, have proper ventilation, and clean your prints, clothes and tools.
This short PSA is intended to create awareness. Educate yourself further about the materials and tools you're using. Too many folks, especially those new to the 3d printing world, are sanding plastic and breathing it right in. I have seen video of people sanding materials like Bondo in their basements, not masked, with no ventilation. This is a bad thing! Don't do it.
Protect yourself, and breathe easier both after you're done in the workshop, and in the long term.

Yeah, chemophobia is running rampand these days.
Did you know that wood dust is considered a carcinogen? And what dangerous chemicals are produced in fires? I wonder how civilization managed to evolve and our ancestors survived. But then again, most of them didn't, they died.
If you happen to live in California it's even worse, they consider naturally occuring chemicals in your body as potential carcinogenic.
