What I loved in Melbourne was just wandering around, seeing and hearing people talking LOL. There are many places and things to see, for free. Can't wait to get back there.
For anyone looking to go to Lune for a croissant, I would 100% suggest jumping on the tram only 10 minutes trip to their Fitzroy store as there is never a que, it has more space and more options as they are less likely to run out given it is their main unit of production, the store also has a glass prep section so you can see how they work if that interests you which was mentioned in this video.
Hey Guys Thank you for your amazing videos on Australia! I recently made a vacation trip to Australia with my family and we followed many of your recommendations. LUNE was out of the world! We also thoroughly enjoyed unique places like Hopetown falls, River cruising in Cairns, harbor bridge climbing, Luna Park etc. My 9yrs old daughter also follows your travel vlogs and she was more than excited to remember your videos when we visited these places. Thanks once again. We had a great trip to Australia. And may you make many such interesting videos!
Did you guys rock up to Melbourne in the middle of winter on a random weekday like a Tuesday or something? As a native Melburnian I can tell you that heaps of places, like St Kilda, are pretty dead on a weekday during the day. St Kilda especially was hit hard during COVID so lots of places have closed. But, regardless of that, it’s great to see you guys experiencing my hometown and showing all the great aspects. The inner north, like Fitzroy, Collingwood, Northcote, and Brunswick have a really hipster vibe, more than St Kilda.
Coillingwood was awesome! We just uploaded the 2nd Melbourne video and ended up there - super cool spot. And yeah, this was just a random weekday adventure, some times thats a pro because of less people, other times a con because not much going on
Lovely video! Melbourne is my favourite city I’ve visited in Australia! Been several times and each time, it’s just a joy to be there! Probably because as a Londoner, it feels so familiar to home. There is so much to see and do. The food and coffee culture is impressive! Rococo on Acland Street, St Kilda is where I’ve had fantastic meals, topped off with seeing the penguins on the beach afterwards 🤗 Can’t wait to get back to Australia and New Zealand again one day. Miss both countries so much. Happy travels guys!
Hi Dane and Stacey. Just wanted to say a big thank you for your blog on Cruise Croatia. We have just pulled into our swim stop at Milet. Would never known about this awesome trip without you both.
The best way to see Fed square is up in a high building. You can see how the buildings look like the rocks and ouback of Australia it’s really spectacular.
Melbourne is definitely on my bucket list. I mean all Australia and New Zealand is, but Melbourne looked so cozy on this video. Hopefully I can go there some day. Great vid, guys.
Oh I love this vid!! I spent a lot of time pre-pandemic in Melbourne, and it's just amazing! There are so many neighbourhoods to discover! It feels so nostalgic watching this, we also drove along the GOR and the conditions were perfect. Some of my best memories
Love your Vlogs which I discovered while researching my NZ trip planned for March with my best mate - big thanks for those as really helped us with deciding where to go, what to see, where to eat and stay. Just can't wait to visit NZ! I was very excited to see you visiting Melbourne. Being Victorian (and having previously lived many years in Melbourne) I was disappointed you didn't show the cake shops of Acland St. There's some amazing ones with a lot of history too... I saw that you walked right past one. That pita looked amazing though. Next time I am in Melbourne I am going to have to go to Lune, I think I've walked past it but never been in. And seems you have an upcoming Vlog on GOR (local acronym for the Great Ocean Road) which is pretty local to me so I am looking forward to that (hope the weather got better!)
So many amazing recommendations coming in for Melbourne, it's unbelievable how many great places to eat there is! Yup, have some GOR videos coming soon - what an amazing roadie that was!
Great video - is helping me to plan our upcoming daily trip to Australia! One question: what property is your accommodation in this video? Many thanks!
Hey Dane and Stacey. Hope your short time in Melbourne was memorable. Harriet and I visited Melbourne just before the Pandemic. All the places you went to we have been. Did you go to Queen Victoria Market ? We took a free Tour with a guide from the Public Library of Back Alley Streets. Our Tour Guide explained some of the famous street art created by some well-known street artists. We have a cousin who married an Aussie from Melbourne. We met them at the Lune Croissanterie Fitzroy. The Lobster Tails Croissants were delicious. Great Memories of Melbourne. We plan to return again. By the way, how is Nalu doing? What a sweetheart. Love you guys' 😍😍😍 Jim, Harriet and Yuki. Richmond, Va.
We did go to the markets! It's in the latest vid (just went live) and liked walking around there - did you try the doughnuts??? Nalu is doing great, this past few weeks it's almost like he's just getting it if that makes sense? No biting, better behaved and just more in tune with us and it's SO amazing! Hope Yuki is doing great ❤
This seems to be a very nice place, I hope I can visit sometime in the future. Seeing and sharing places like this is why I love traveling and make videos so much! And please keep up the great job! Subscribed!!
Glad you enjoyed your stay here in Melbourne. It's a pretty cool place, despite the changeable weather 😅 Lots of nooks and crannies to explore. St Kilda looked pretty quiet that day, but it's usually packed on the weekends with everyone hanging out in bars and eating their way through the cake shops that have been there since Jewish ppl fled here during WWII. You should have caught the tram there - takes a while but it's much cheaper and you get to see more of Melbourne 😊
"Lots of nooks and crannies to explore" feels like an understatement! It feels like the kind of place we could spend a few months and still miss lots of great things!

Eucalyptus tannins colour the water like tea. The water from rain and melted snow flows down the river from the forested mountains and bushland with falling leaves, bark, branches and trees soaking in the water turning it brown before it reaches the city. It is not city pollution.
Theres loads of Airbnb options in the CBDish, we initially found a cheaper and better one, but it quickly sold before we booked. Turns out there is quite a lot of options anyway so you won't struggle.
Haha our croissants are good but I don't know about them being the best in the world 😉 Always cool to see my city from a tourists perspective, it is pretty cool. Also I didn't realise our hotels were so expensive!
Melbourne is very expensive, I've been to NZ and I think NZ is cheaper. Also hard to find a meal for $20 now, plus the exchange rate means you pay more
St Kilda died off many years ago. Lots of homeless now, boarding houses for low income/homeless, street walkers etc its a bit of a sad shadow of itself now. Melbourne in Winter isn't very exciting, things are just starting to come back to life now! Grand Final, Melbourne Royal Show, Tulip Festival, Picasso exhibition. And when Summer gets here every beach is busy and the food comes to you.
St kilda is a sad sorry version of what it once was. The Espy is pretty much the only decent place down there. Better off heading to near by Balaclava .
Ahem....yes you can.....that’s the beauty of the New World...you can experiment without the constraints of tradition....there’s room for both versions..
You should try a ham and cheese croissant, I'm surprised French don't already do it with the amazing hams and cheeses you have. Good way to use yesterdays pastries without making them sweet almond. My ex was French and after a year in Melb he had welcomed the idea.
Thanks!
You guys are too kind!! Thank you ❤

Welcome to my city! Enjoy
I prefer Quarry bakery's Almond Croissant in Ferntree Gully - big, really packed, sweet and $7.50ea (half Lune's price).
Where did you find your accommodation in melbourne? That apartment was looking nice. Was hoping to visit soon too! You just got a new subscriber.
Theres loads of Airbnb options in the CBDish, we initially found a cheaper and better one, but it quickly sold before we booked. Turns out there is quite a lot of options anyway so you won't struggle.
What’s the name of the apartment you stay ? Thx
Ex-pat kiwi living in Melbourne and I can confirm it is the ish, should check out North Richmond.
Will do next time, thanks!
If you come back to Melbourne you should go to South Melb market. It's a bit nicer than Queen Vic
Nice one, thanks for the heads up!
Melbourne has to be the best, but one of the most expensive cities in Australia
Hi Guys , May i know where is the apartment you live in Melbourne. Thanks
Haha our croissants are good but I don't know about them being the best in the world 😉 Always cool to see my city from a tourists perspective, it is pretty cool. Also I didn't realise our hotels were so expensive!
You guys cane at a wrong time to go St Kilda I think 🤭🤭 usually hotel esplanade is poppin 🤭
Got really confused about the Les Miserables advertising at 7:38.... is that old footage??
Would you say it's slightly more affordable than Auckland. Like a $22 dollar meal in Auckland would be $20 in Melbourne?
Melbourne is very expensive, I've been to NZ and I think NZ is cheaper. Also hard to find a meal for $20 now, plus the exchange rate means you pay more
Probably more expensive to be honest - check out our latest food vid (just went live now) and you'll see some pricing
Any suggestions on which platforms or sites you used for looking for apartment accommodations? 😄
Airbnb!
Can anyone give me a link to the apartment they stayed in?
St Kilda died off many years ago. Lots of homeless now, boarding houses for low income/homeless, street walkers etc its a bit of a sad shadow of itself now. Melbourne in Winter isn't very exciting, things are just starting to come back to life now! Grand Final, Melbourne Royal Show, Tulip Festival, Picasso exhibition. And when Summer gets here every beach is busy and the food comes to you.
Suppose thats kind of a good thing that seasonal locations change, I loved St Kilda when I was there solo years ago but that was possibly summer
St kilda is a sad sorry version of what it once was. The Espy is pretty much the only decent place down there. Better off heading to near by Balaclava .
Agreed. Easily a good 15 years since St Kilda was firing. It's just not the same anymore.
Love the life size graffiti portrait of SHAQ
So cool huh!
Ahem half French person here. You can’t put a filling a croissant. Sacrilege! ( Also where exactly is that bakery) 😉
Ahem....yes you can.....that’s the beauty of the New World...you can experiment without the constraints of tradition....there’s room for both versions..
There’s one at 161 Collins St
A new lune just opened on High street Armadale
You should try a ham and cheese croissant, I'm surprised French don't already do it with the amazing hams and cheeses you have. Good way to use yesterdays pastries without making them sweet almond.
My ex was French and after a year in Melb he had welcomed the idea.
Ha, ha , ha 😂😂😂😂
New Zealand super market video
melbourne is crowded house's song 4 seasons in one day or take the weather with you
Lovely Dears...
Thank you! Cheers!
Yeah $27 for two fancy croissants and two coffees. Unfortunately it's very expensive here
Miss Cbd 😻
My friend lives near you apartment
They have actually stopped the fires at crown to save money
don't like the weather in Melbourne? just wait a minute
HAHA so true
St Kilda area becomes alive at night time
27 dollars for two croissants and a coffee is out of chart guys... come to Italy or go to France you will find good ones for way way less money ...
Been to both, tasted in both - travel is just expensive these days!
