Lol, me and my buddy is playing a multiplayer game and even though we have spent a lot of time all over the mine, the seed have not dropped a single time and we are past the Luau year 2. We keep farming starfruits in the greenhouse so it isn't like we are suffering but it is getting really old.... So yeah, I got rather jealous here even though something similar happened to me the first time I played. The RNG Gods can be cruel at times.

Honestly, Botanically speaking, there's no such thing as a vegetable. All vegetables are botanically classified as something else. Carrots are considered roots, Cabbage and Lettuce are leaves, Potatoes are tubers (underground stems), Broccoli is a flower. This all leads to one of my favorite funny sayings, "Vegetables are a social construct"

As much as I love being able to Finally experienced this update (switch user) For some reason, my farm specifically, the farm areahas become 80% more laggy. Perhaps it has something to do with the medowlands farm specifically? since that was the farm that I started to experience everything newly, but I haven't played anything in 1.6 on my previous saves yet.

I'm a HUGE fan of the 1.6 upgrades! So many of them just really add to the vibe, like the green rain. And the mastery system gave me a reason to come back and actually invest time and energy into leveling up! All around the vibes are beautiful and it really motivated me to come back after not playing for quite some time
I've never made it past a full Year One. I remember playing at launch (more or less), saw the advent of multiple farm types, and then... stopped. I still haven't experienced all the content from 1.4 and 1.5. This new update is so full of content I'm loving it. It's the first time I've been surprised by the game in Year One in a long time.

Grew up playing harvest moon so I always focus on just making my farm look cute with and grow a variety of crops. I think the start of year 2, I'll dial in on kegs and unlock the desert or however you get to ginger island lol
Did you know you can cast your rod with the left and right arrow keys to get your bobber in otherwise out of reach places? makes getting to those fishing spots a lot easier
Yeah, but it also depends on if you play with mouse and keyboard or an X-box (or PS5) controller. Frankly, I prefer the controller myself even if both have their advantages. While getting the bobbler in odd positions is easier with mouse and keyboard, the shaking whenever you hook something makes fishing a lot easier to me... I recommend trying both and see what you prefer.
Getting only horseradish foragables hits hard rn. I recently started a new farm on console awaiting the update and I got SEVEN HORSERADISH AND NOTHING ELSE. Not even a spring onion. I was so mad.

They're referred to as a vegetable in culinary practice but botanically a fruit, they're a fruit because they contain seeds and grow from a flowering plant. quite a share of culinary vegetables are bontanically fruits notably peppers, cucumbers, avocados, tomatoes, and corn. its mainly just a fault in how botanics and culinary practice differentiates ingredients differently.
My husband installed a mod for me that skips fishing because he was tired of me being frustrated the entire time. I am always in awe when I see RUclipsrs catch fish without the mod so easily (or not easily, but at least you have the perseverance)
Fishing with the starting rod and zero skill is very painful but with a high skill and the iridium rod, only a few fish are that hard. My recommendation is that if you have problems, start grinding up the skill with crabpots and try using an X-box controller instead of mouse and keyboard. Always use a hook or a bobber so you either have a larger bar or the fish escape slower. Sure, the legendary fish and lava eel are still painful but you should be able to get anything for the community center that way unmodded. My Co-op friend had the same problem but this worked great for him at least. :) He can get fish like sturgeons now after a while at least.
Lummi, I just wanted to say I love your stardew valley content. I only play on really console platforms, so after I got burnt out of my stardew valley phase I stopped watching you. But now that stardew valley 1.6 is out for all platforms I've come back to watching your content and the game. WOW you are still just as wholesome as you were before, I just want to tell you that you're a very sweet person. I think its good to be introduced to things early so you can work towards achieving them, rather than being introduced to them when you already have everything you need on hand and you can get it as an afterthought.
Not sure if this is always a thing or added in the update. But you can throw the fishing line to the left or right by using "A" or "D". Makes those akward spawns easier to hit sometimes without you having to move. *edited for spelling mistakes
I love how this game now has so much content that even after a year you really aren't even close to the stage of "yeah just lemme grind that money till I get the golden clock" which one achieved fairly quickly in the past.

my theory for the strange phenomenon at 7:33 is that perhaps the day counter decided to roll over before you went to bed because it was past midnight. could be a strange and rare bug that might get fixed in 1.6.9, but idk. if it's the day rolling over prematurely, that doesn't explain the crops that didn't grow, but i think it would take more effort (such as asking ape himself) to figure out what's actually going on there. could be luck, a bug, an "underdog boost" (bc you procrastinated for several days or smthn), multiplayer (possible hacker or smthn), or just pure, unexplained, arcane magic of the highest power. i'd have to do some of my own testing w/o mods to be sure tho. if i do find something before ur next 1.6 upload, i'd appreciate it if you could put this comment (or whatever i put the info on) somewhere in the next 1.6 vid. feel free to take advantage of it if it keeps happening tho, just in case ape patches it! Also, as a side note, PLEASE buy your pets water bowls from Robin's building menu, as everyone needs a bowl to be happy (and it needs water (sprinklers are likely to work ut would be annoying to set up)). As well as pet bowls, you can buy various pet houses from Marnie's shop (doghouses, cat trees, and birdhouses IIRC) for your pets, which might increase friendship but don't quote me on that one.

I'd recommend trying cave level 20 for fishing for cave jelly. I went there for my first 1.6 farm and had no problem getting a few after about 6hrs of fishing, about the same rate as ocean and river jellies.
I finished 1.6 and got perfection on one of my saves for the first time on pc. And i got a new tablet today and i already downloaded stardew valley. Time to do everything all over againnn 🤭🤭
