Thanks. Hadn't seen Russell in action yet (only seen her at Talyllyn), so thought it would be rude not to have a walk across Porthmadog on Sunday dinner time.
Im glad you did shes a lovely loco. I hope both ffestiniog and welsh highland heritage can sort out there issues and maybe one day she could run up the caernarfon
Some of the problems are (1) that WHHR and Russell have compressed air braking and the F&WHR has vacuum (2) that Russell could not haul a standard RhE train and (3) so she/he could not keep line speed on RhE. (4) that WHHR drivers, so far as I know, are no longer in ticket for F&WHR. (5) there are no signalling arrangements for Pen y Mount Junction (6) if a WHHR train went Down RhE and was stranded, how would it be returned?
Interesting to see braking in action of the gravitational train. I suppose they must act in response to bugle signals from the feller at the front. And seeing Palmerston tender first with an interesting looking Goods.
What a wonderful film. Enabled us to see the bits we were not able to see for ourselves. You can't be everywhere. Thanks a lot.
Thanks, was a really enjoyable weekend.
Absolutely superb! Regards, Michael
Thank you, was a very enjoyable couple of days.
What an impressive Array of Motive Power , from the Tiny 0-4-0 's in the works to the Double Fairlies and the Mighty Garretts of the WHR !
great video. liked that you added russel on the welsh highland in aswell.

You walked? Did you not try the horse-drawn carriages? They were fun - we were introduced to the horses in Minffordd Yard at the end of the day.

Very good gala
Whats the speed limit on this line? Some of these locos seem to be travelling at a grand speed for such small locomotives
Mae'n bendigedig:-)
