I never thought I would see anything about this show ever again. I used to watch it when I was 9 or 10 years old. THANK YOU for the memories of a short-lived, but welled rememberd show. Anyone remembers Whiz Kids, huh,huh anyone?!?
Wow! Seeing this makes me think EVERYthing is (or soon will be) available on RUclips! This is one of the more obscure shows from my childhood - one that I loved and no one else seems to remember. Thanks for sharing!
Now this was a fun show and enjoyed it way back when (Jack the one-eyed pup losing his eye/wearing a patch is what I remember the most). It's time to get this released on DVD already please.
I was born in 1977. This show was shown in Greece in the early 80's. I was very young but i cannot forget Jake Carter and his adventures! I'll try to buy all the episodes.
Normally he did. The dog supposedly had a glass eye which Jake kept losing and thereby forcing the dog to wear an eye patch. A recurring theme throughout the short life of the show to get the glass eye back.
Corky was the name of the sidekick, I believe the dog's name might have been Jake. Like you I haven't seen this show in years and I don't have cable. It may still come on cable but I don't know. This show was tv's version of Raiders of the Lost Ark. Great Show. Both this and Raiders.
The script was actually based off of a couple 1940s movies. Don bellisarius wrote it in the 1970s and no studios were interested until the success of raiders of the lost ark.the show was cancelled because don refused to dumb it down for abc ,they wanted a brainless action show and don wanted to tell some good stories with character development.
Yeah, I remember that one too. Frank Buck (played by Bruce Boxleitner ) Both of these shows came out fast on the heels of 'Raiders' as did a very short lived TV show 'Casablanca' - The Gold Monkey was my favorite. It's hard for me to watch now, though.
Who would your cast picks be? Here are mine; Jake Cutter (Paul Walker) Corky (Jason Biggs) Sarah Stickney-White (Jenna von Oy) Bon Chance Louie (Simon MacCorkindale) Rev. Willie Tenboom (W.K. Stratton) Princess Koji (Lucy Liu) Todo (Greg Watanabe) Gushie (Balthazar Getty) Jack, Jake's dog would probably be a Jackapuggle. That's a Jackabee/puggle mix.
+marios manesis This was made simply to cash in on the success of raiders of the lost ark....what a rip off and thank god it only lasted one season. But it was still hugely successful and was only cancelled because of the high production costs of making a period drama!
Anyone have any idea where the goose is now ? I have not seen or heard about where it went in a few years. It was last seen on the east coast, painted blue with yellow..
As I remember at the end of the pilot episode the large statue of the gold monkey is found by someone but it is gaurded by monkeys and it never shows what happens after that.
I watched this when I was a kid too and LOVED it! When will it be out on DVD?!?!?! I keep watching and waiting for it, but I still haven't seen it on DVD.
My favorite show from childhood...and made the grumman goose my favorite plane in the world. One day ill own one. A NC company bought the rights and is manufacturing new ones with turboprops...I think for like $2 million USD
yuh teh dgo hud I putch. Teh dog lost I most uh series. Only couple uh shews dog got I bak, butt lost it gin. Actually, Jack had a fake eye but lost it in the movie, I think. During the series, the patch was on mostly, but at least one episode had Jake run into an old friend who had found Jack's glass eye, but of course, lost it during the course of the episode.

Thanks! But why take all the time and effort to upload these scenes and not post a whole episode on daily motion or veoh. Universal will never get round to releasing this, until they see there is money in it.
Back in the days when, after merging with V'Ger, the Rev Camden decided to be an Indy-like adventurer before settling down with that whale-scientist friend of Jim Kirk's......that Annie chick...
Oh man, I missed that sweet music!! Born in 1974, I would never miss an episode! Greetings from Greece!

@@zenjoshwaable 69, I just come from an Episode of Magnum when the guy crashed his plan in Robin Masters Estate's tidal pool .?

This was a great series. I also remember watching it as a young man in the 80's. Not bad for it's time. Thanks !

It was actually Jake Cutter, hence Cutter's Goose.
hELLO. essage from 2012 - did you end up buying all the episodes or what?
Normally he did. The dog supposedly had a glass eye which Jake kept losing and thereby forcing the dog to wear an eye patch. A recurring theme throughout the short life of the show to get the glass eye back.

This shows like a vague memory from my childhood. I've been trying to remember what it was called for years. :-)
Great show that I loved in my youth - thanks for sharing!
I always wondered what happened to Decker after he merged with V'GER... Now I know.
wow! never thought I'd see this again. It's never been repeated here.

The show was produced by Belisarius Productions for Universal Television.
Yes INDEED
The co-producers of Magnum, P.I., Airwolf, Quantum Leap and Tequila and Bonetti

Disney's Tale Spin 1990 Animated Series was heavily influenced by this.

nicky29031977 i agree with you100%
+nicky29031977 Fuck you! The show was done or pitched before Raiders but was shelved until Raiders was a box office success. Blame the studios!

That was during the INDIANA JONES craze. I dug both shows. Hate that the complete series of both aren't collected on DVD yet.

Tales of the Gold Monkey from the Creator of Magnum, P.I., Airwolf, Quantum Leap, JAG & NCIS
Man this came out at the same time as "Bring Em Back Alive" with Bruce Boxleitner
I saw a picture of it in Kodiak, AK.
I watched this when I was a kid too and LOVED it! When will it be out on DVD?!?!?! I keep watching and waiting for it, but I still haven't seen it on DVD.
The dogs name was "Jack"...or at least that was the name given by the Greek compilers... I loved this show....
Do you remember this tv show called Matthew Star? It's like starman

Change a few notes in the theme song and I swear its the A Team.
I see/hear your point.
Next on "ARCHER: DANGER ISLAND"...oh wait....
Perhaps.
It reminds me of the "Wild Wild West".

Oh yeah... (totally forgot about that)! That WAS sorta demented, wasn't it? *lol*
at 0:15 to 0:50 he reminds me of dick van dyke in Mary Poppins, his facial expressions are the same! am I the only one who sees this?
_...TALESPIN?!_
Who in the world would have guessed that Jake Cutter would go on to be a man of the church and have four kids with Tucker's Witch?
This Show was Great. Correct me if i'm wrong but didn't someone from this show die while they were doing a live broadcast or something like that
Jack is he dog. Jake is the pilot
I just about crapped my pants, because the main character looked like Greg Kinnear for a second.
"NOOOO.... oh, wait. It's not him. Whew!"
Yeah, at the time of the show, you'd recognize him as Capt. Decker from Star Trek, The Motion Picture.
THIS is what Solo: A Star Wars Story SHOULD have been.

Hey it's Tail Spin!!
I don't remember this program at all. What network did it run on? Looks good.
