    I learned years ago, to start someone on a bait cast reel. I started them with braided line, pull those backlashes right right out, doesn’t hurt the line, And Set drag as tight as you can get it. In case you don’t take your finger OFF the line when you set the hook.

    That’s a great demo! I’ve never used a bait caster for fear of back lash, lol. Imma 🐈

    And even if you set it up perfectly you still have a good chance of having a a backlash if anything unexpected happens such as the wind changing speed or direction.

      @@josevillalobos8686 I spend about 10 hours fishing today with this reel and I can honestly say I definitely improved. It was complicated at the beginning but you eventually get a feel for it after awhile. My line still goes crazy now and then but it’s not to bad.

    So would you say the brake is optional for most anglers or is it something that really isn’t necessary? 👀

    • @JordanMichaelFishing
      @JordanMichaelFishing  2 года назад

      well you use it allot more with the wind . It also depends on your reel they are all different.

      @@JordanMichaelFishing so you said it controls the arch, so it slows down the speed when coming down

    • @JordanMichaelFishing
      @JordanMichaelFishing  2 года назад +1

      @@frostizz2072 yes it is a brake system that when your bait reaches its peak it will slow down your spool to avoid backlashes

      There's a new skill to learn if you use your thumb. It does feel satisfying when you finally can make multiple cast without backlash. I've been using it for about a month and still get backlash. My goal is to master the baitcaster.

    I’ll never understand right handed users, if you are casting with your right hand already why have it same as your reel hand when you could just cast with right reel with left and not have to weirdly change hands every single time

    • @JordanMichaelFishing
      @JordanMichaelFishing  Год назад

      Actually, allot of people do it like this. now I do have both, but i prefer right-handed.
