You may have seen this video on the podcast channel but I wanted to share here as well for those who missed it. I really like the archetypes and would love to know what the CoC audience thinks about me doing more on the topic. Regardless, a brand new video on Elon and toxic shame will be ready next Monday at the latest, potentially as soon as this Thursday, so stay tuned 😊
LOVE this topic and the example you chose. I find Aragorn and Mufasa are the best examples of the King archetype. Curious to hear your thoughts on how it's portrait in the new Mufasa movie
I won't explain why, but you posted this with literally perfect timing. I oppose magic 🎩, though this clearly occurred in 🏴🏴🏴✝️God's divine✝️ providence✝️⛪️☦️
i do recommend a bible study in the King James Version... all literature, stories, legends, movies and creative inspiration finds its facts, language and source there.
Even Aragorn would be scared if there were 100 migrants vs 1 native. The migrants can always get their close ones to help. I think that is exactly what the left want, to break the confidence of all white men.
Aragorn is the epitome of masculinity. Real confidence is humble. It is also soft to the vulnerable and brutal to anything that threatens them. Be humble, be kind, and be prepared to defend those things.
I would rather say the epitome of humanity; what is good in humans. That is because from all his commendable traits, only very little, if any, can be described as explicitly masculine. Furthermore, masculinity as a term is very neutral in terms of ethicality/morality.
Faramir is also a fantastic alternative. Courageous in his own right, but also intelligent and wise, accepting his flaws and having the insight that power corrupts and so will not let himself be tempted. Greatness can come in different forms!
Charlie You've come a long way. And it has been incredible getting to come along for the ride to see how you and the channel have grown. Thanks for all the life changing tips and breakdowns. This channel dragged me back from a very dark place and helped me grow into someone that I never thought I could be. Thank you, truly. 🙏
Charlie's advice on confidence years ago on this channel absolutely changed my approach to life, both socially and professionally. It's great having an ACTUAL charisma channel that doesn't confuse arrogance with confidence and also helps you get there
YES! I love, love, LOVE this mix of Charlie on cam speaking directly to us, along with popular media clips. This is the perfect hybrid of your video styles that this channel has been needing all these years.
The most intimidating people I've known are the ones who don't have to yell or make a scene. They speak calmly and clearly, because they know they have the power and full intent to back up their threats. Put another way, "A lion doesn't have to roar for you to know it's a lion."
SO glad you're back! I'd love to hear more about moving away from a 'boy hero' mindset. Feeling like I've been in that frame of mind for most of my life.
Wow. I just got this video suggested. And like there is lots of videos out there that are kinda "lifechanging" and what not, but this one here, literally shined some light onto myself, I have been through the negative projection phase, the world exploration part, the positive projection part is def. my weakness as of rn i know already, but this explained it so well. to be clear in intent, to not hate or despise your opponent, your challenge or whatever, but to understand it and to be able to stand for the world you want to live in, no matter what, and to incorporate your challenges, your tasks, and lifegoals with your grand world view. Thank you for this, this kind of gave me back something inside me i felt like I lost a while ago but didn't know what it was. And thats hope. I have been surviving the past few years.
Loving the video. Good to see you back. But wooooah there chief, Theoden was a phenomenal king. Specifically written as such by Tolkien. He had also travelled far and wide across his realm and neighbouring regions and had a lot less years than Aragorn to work with. We shouldn't be treating his time under the sorcery of the White Wizard as normal Theoden
Confidence is really a game-changer, and it's not even about being flashy and loud, it's that quiet, calm kind of confidence. I just read "Power of Assertiveness: Unlock your potential" from Mindbloomery and it's crazy how much assertiveness changes how people respond to you. Through the book I also learned some other things about ditching limiting beliefs, it is really a knowledge that stays with you forever.
I love the advice in your videos, and the way you explain it and break it down. I was an awkward and anti-social kid in highschool, but a lot of people who didn't know me then have a hard time believing that now. I recently turned 40 and still feel like I'm growing and improving, while many of my peers feel like their best days are behind them. The kid I was then probably wouldn't have believed the man I have become, in part thanks to helpful resources like this channel. (Also Hidden Brain and the Freakonomics family of podcasts like NSQ with Angela Duckworth)
I have my own version of this. It's so amazing to see people sharing life's truths because they are always the same, even coming from people with 2 very different backgrounds. Thanks for sharing
At first i was confused by the topic and the thumbnail, but it actually made sense for me... holding on to your very own believes, created by live experiences and the impact of the world around you really shifts someone from fake confidence to a real grounded one.
Wow, you're back and what a comeback! You're publishing videos in record tempo! Confidence is my favorite topic because most of my life I had NO CONFIDENCE🙄 Studying tons of books have helped and then chosing to be around more confident people inspired me, but also moving abroad on my own and traveling the world, starting on RUclips and a constant facing fears and discomfort is what helped my confidence. Confidence comes from a big mix of things but it's definitely possible for everyone 🙂
As a couch, its easy to want to provide help. So true that you have to pause. I like to tell people that I "tell them what they already know" - As you said, sometimes they just need someone to listen. So glad you are back, refreshed. Definitely a highlight of my day to see you pop again. 🤜🤛
Bro, I am so happy you are back and in full force. I've been struggling with conflict myself as a leader. I will not lie, I fell into oppositional defiance. And you were right it's a trap. This video is going in my saved playlist so I can refer back to it in the future when I struggle with leadership. I'm not bragging but some of these traits are natural to me and I've been judged and ostracized for taking the path of a good leader.
Love how you referenced Aragorn for your CoC content. Thank you 🙏🏽 would love more like this for this character or any other you find to fit your agenda
I've missed you creating content bro, welcome back 😇 I'm a charisma university student from many years ago, but just love watching and learning from your videos on youtube just as much. Thanks for being a great mentor to us all, and Yes Aragorn is who I wish to become. Legendary
Wow what a piece of art this video is, the detail in immense. This has truly impacted my perspective, thanks you for your time an effort on this, I'm sure it'll help many others on their journey too,
I'm very interested in shadow-work and I am also interested in any behaviour Cristopher Lee's acting might teach... I don't know what it is, but when he plays bad guys, you still want him on your side somehow... As was mentioned, it's good to have you back, Charlie! It takes me a lot less time (about a year or two) to fully integrate your social-skill teachings than it would otherwise. Having my performative autism turn into healthier character than most normies have is a privilege I did not think I'd get in this lifetime. And just because I can: I think you dropped this 👑
I know nothing about this movie just doesn’t click for me, however this video is so FN brilliant it makes me actually want to watch it cause I love getting lessons like this from movie characters. Lessons in here are so on point , as a chef of 29 years I needed some motivation to balance my overall stress and this hit the spot, confidence really does counter balance stress !
One of the things I've always appreciated about you, Charlie, is that you don't do those annoying reaction videos. You know what I mean? Inserting a video of yourself into a larger video or worse yet: into a split screen. In other words: a picture - in - picture. You are, dare I say? confident in your presentations. I can't tell you how much I loathe the reaction videos. To me, it comes across as extremely insecure when the content creator doesn't simply allow the video to play without him. And it's gotten much worse as time goes on. So, here's to you, Charlie! This is one of the best features of your videos. As Stan Lee used to say, excelsior!
Hey Charlie! Really happy you returned! I really like the way you are thinking about these things, it is really insightful. However, I feel like it would be really beneficial for the channel’s growth if you could make you videos longer, like twice as long (I read a study that this is what youtube evolved into during covid when people were suddenly able to watch for hours). And perhaps you could also add some exercises! Tbh, I would gladly watch a video of you talking about this thing that is like an hour long.
This is crazy timing. I recently re-read the Lord of the Rings for the first time in 25 years so all these references are actually fresh in my mind for once!
This is a great video. I was worried the videos would become too gimmicky based on the last one, but this is a great video, incredible performance, and powerful message.
Fantastic as always I'm so happy this channel is back! ALSO if I can make a request I'd like to hear more about the "Boy Hero" because I feel like I fit into your description and I'd love a video about the don'ts of being a "hero"
Excellent video, thank you. Taking a look at your own shadows can be a powerful thing 😊. I love Aragorn as he is such an excellent example of the mature king archetype. And as additional inspiration I want to throw in Captain Jean-Luc Picard from Star Trek TNG... He is for me also a splendid mature king archetype and a great role model when it comes to leadership 🙂
J.R.R. Tolkien put Aragorn up there with Frodo's humility and strength. You cannot command true respect without being humble and strong, otherwise people will obey you based on fear (and resentment will brew). Packed with wisdom is that book, my precious.
These are all great points, and I love the movie, but I feel more engaged and relatable when you’re teaching these great principles attached to real people and experiences, and not made up characters, and made up experiences. Nonetheless, I still enjoy your videos and looking forward to more.
I recently heard about "King, Warrior, Magician, Lover" from a friend of mine who said it helped him turn his life around. Another book, that another friend of mine (an SF trooper) said kept him alive while he was in the hospital recovering from a jump accident that nearly killed him was the science fiction novel "Armour" by John Steakley - "The only enemy you need to fear is the one inside your armor."
You may have seen this video on the podcast channel but I wanted to share here as well for those who missed it. I really like the archetypes and would love to know what the CoC audience thinks about me doing more on the topic.

Well said, friend.

@@anteshell Your opinion is noted. But you are focusing too much on terminology, and I think you missed the point.
@@anteshell leadership is a masculine trait
@ I don't think I did. I quite literally agreed with you but proposed a better term to describe it.
In the end we are all Boromir trying to become Aragorn. I'm glad you're back charlie I truly missed your videos, this is pure gold!
Faramir is also a fantastic alternative. Courageous in his own right, but also intelligent and wise, accepting his flaws and having the insight that power corrupts and so will not let himself be tempted. Greatness can come in different forms!
To clarify this is Faramir from the books. The film version does him dirty.
For Frodo🗿
And my bow!
Glad ur back my dude. Your voice is the best at teaching charisma
So true!
Charlie

#3 I think is underrated, so many people are the way they are out of anger and not out of a creative spirit. It seems obvious but it's so powerful.
Live for your dream, not avoiding the attacks of others

Facts. Always feels weird when Charlie doesn't show on camera. Say hello and goodbye bud :D
A king’s silence is more powerful than his threats 💯

@ yup, exactly right. As Denzel said in Training Day, “The loudest man in the room is usually the weakest.”
This channel is back just when I needed it!
SO glad you're back! I'd love to hear more about moving away from a 'boy hero' mindset. Feeling like I've been in that frame of mind for most of my life.

Your ability to encapsulate so many messages in one video is absolutely astonishing… So glad to have you back 👑
Loved the video. Archetypes have a lot to teach us and it's easy to overlook some of them as 'nerdy' and miss out on their gifts.

Aragorn is committed to doing what's right. That's where his confidence comes from
I like the additions of the deep questions, wrote them down and will think about them tomorrow during the day

Excellent video Charlie. And thanks for coming back.
Love this. Please make more content about him and also the both kings of Rohan (Théoden and Éomer)

Glad you're back.
Dude: I love this so much. Keep up the great work.
Great video ~ and exactly in alignment with what I am currently working on! 🙌🏼 Thank you!
Literally the greatest character of all time🔥🔥
Glad you're back! And give me such good video
Wow this is your best video I've seen! 🏆
Hope you do a video on each archetype:
