But I think Vedant has a point. There was space for new actors to emerge in the 90s when Amitabh was going through a downfall period and a transition to different roles. When our current generation on superstars decide it is time for them to take up more supporting roles, there will be a vacuum. That is where new superstars can emerge, not before.
I think Aamir Khan is the only actor that managed to become both a great actor and great star. SRK & Salman Khan are also a good actors but the number of experimental/different films done by them are fewer when compared to Aamir Khan.

Imagine the scenario -No SRK waving on his bdays and Eids. Mannat being one of the tourist spots in Mumbai. I don't think Ranbir will be able to enjoy that kind of a stardom even if he becomes a 'Superstar'. SRK has literally built a personal connection with his audiences esp the Millennials. I think Ranbir is more on the introverted side. He may become the most successful of his time, but not at the level of the Khans. P.S. - my personal opinion.

I think it's not just the case for Bollywood even Hollywood in today's age is struggling to create bonafied superstars from their new generation talent pool and I think it's because entertainment in its complete sense now does not include only films with how large others forms of entertainment are taking centre stage like the gaming industry,animation industry or RUclips content creation people don't necessarily need to rely only on films for entertainment when other mediums are providing better entertainment with much more satisfaction

I have seen in 'Coffee with Karan', every episode actors praise him, and other actors are the ones who have made Ranbir Kapoor respected in the audience's mind.
