i mean deals ka show pe hone ke baad cancel hona bohat badi baat nhi hai kyuki usually entrepreneurs apne finances properly nahi batate and often apni losses kam karke apne profits exxagerate karte hai and marketing wala aspect bhi common hai this is a major issue faced by original shark tank in us as well

Tanmay Bhat, on the Nikal Kamath podcast, once said (not quoting), 'They don't buy a soap because they think SRK uses it; they do because it means the brand can afford SRK.'
Brands pay hefty amounts to just air their adverts for 20 secs in places like IPl, because:

      2. The masses will know they can pay those amounts.

Apparently Deepinder Goyal is said to be Ashneer Light but, here's the thing, Ashneer's batchmate and co-founder of blinkit, Albinder Dhindsa was Head of International Operation at Zomato, where he learnt logistics and later started Grofers with Ashneer and Saurabh. Zomato eventually acquired blinkit in coming years. So technically Ashneer's entrepreneurship journey was somewhere fuelled by Deepinder as his co-founder who inspired him to get into this had learnt from Deepinder.
I was amazed when I got to know these connections.

I agree completely with most of you have said, except for Vinita's reaction during the Recode Pitch. Her reaction to the sales was out of shock, likely because their sales were so high. I don't think it had to do with anything else. I believe she acted fine during that pitch and complimented their brands, giving honest feedback where it was required. But I definitely do agree on the point of Namita and Aman's behaviour - it was quite narrow-minded of them to not invest solely because another Shark was in that category. As Peyush said, you can't block all 5 of the Shark's categories because that ruins the purpose of the show - to help the entrepreneurs.

I am not sure of the Exact figures, but even in Shark Tank USA or Australia, the number of pitches that actually get the Actual funding from the Sharks after the show gets over is also 40-50% since due diligence cancels most of them. And on many times, even the Entrepreneurs back out since they only come for marketing on Shark Tank, and once the show goes live, their sales increases and some angel investors comes with a better offer. So, it works both ways. This is how it works.

I am a regular viewer of shark tank india. If not anything, at least this show provides a platform for entrepreneurs with excellent/ genuine products and businesses. But unfortunately only that much is not enough for them to grow.
As Ashneer had said "Jo diktha hai wahi biktha hai", marketing and advertising is the game changer and if this show is allowing them to reach a wider audience then it's a win - win for all. I am very happy for them as through this they can at least feature in the mainstream.

    • @SignalFlowers
      @SignalFlowers 9 месяцев назад

"Jo diktha hai wahi biktha hai" issi vajah se wo china wale khilone aur gadiya bika karti thi. "Dikh raha hai matlab acchha hi hoga" ye mindset galat hai. Jab dikh raha hai ki show se innovation hi chala gaya hai, to ghanta "win - win for all" ?

@@SignalFlowers well I never said, win-win for all means the product has to be good. Jo diktha hai vo sirf biktha hai (it need not be necessary that the product has to be good). I have seen a lot of cause oriented organisations in shark tank which struggle a lot to even reach the audience. Pehle logo thak jana padega (whether thr product is good or bad).
So in that way I said this show offers a win-win situation for both the parties [Entrepreneurs --> much needed marketing if not funding, Sony --> TRP].
This doesn't mean I am neglecting all the facts told in this video.
It was my bad to assume that you'll be mature enough to understand this.

True season 3 is a mess, they just start speaking bad things about the business and decrease the valuation of the business 3-4 times and also start asking for royalty in every another pitch and if the pitcher starts negotiating they just start abusing them and say bad things about their business. Some sharks also don't allow the pitchers to listen to the offers of the other sharks, they pressurize them to not listen like they came there to beg from them.

As soon as the first season was on air. I totally was intrigued and gradually loved it. And 2nd season was still not too bad. But right now they have completely diverted. Now it literally feels like pretty obvious. Ideas that make it on television they get enough viewers through You tube and other media platforms. Rest all depends on people if they would want to buy the product or not. But they got their airtime on television and their idea is getting broadcasted and are being watched by the audience. Now its all marketing. The most clear and direct brand promotion was Nish hair founded by Parul Gulati who is a popular content creator she featured in TV shows as well. Now after her episode her brand is performing quite well

According to Mark Cuban, 70% of the deals that are agreed to on TV don't go through. Indecisive entrepreneurs are punished even worse by sharks in the US who withdraw. Don't even get me started on the royalty laden, lucrative deals Kevin makes and the times Barabara has said she's out all these years. The US sharks seldom agree to anything below 10% for the average company citing it should be worth their time notwithstanding the financial status(scrub daddy is a prime example)

LMAO this popped up on my feed just after watching the 2nd episode of STI season 1. But you, and all the people quoting this are bang on. Now people can call this individual obsession, but it genuinely was Ashneer who made this show in the first season. I just watched a few episodes of second season because of Peyush/Aman. And I am clueless about anything in the 3rd season. Until Ashneer was there, the drama, the intense moments, the comedy, everything was balanced. But after he left, even the sharks had a sudden change in behaviour. Namita backb*tching about him in Tanmay Bhat's podcast, and Anupam having that sudden change of behaviour too in the 2nd season where he got frustrated because he didn't get a deal and in one episode he spoiled the deal of a guy who wanted Peyush, his change has really shocked me. Nonetheless, as the things are going on now, people are just gonna remember this show due to Ashneer being there in S1. Like they've legit introduced 3-4 more sharks in season 3 and I have zero idea about them. They've lost the touch big time and are being trolled for fair reasons.
