Yes. This is the easiest cookie in the world. I can taste how this would be an OKAY cookie if I was on a strict diet.
I advise those who are planning to try this recipe to keep in mind that it will taste like the two ingredients used to make them - bananas and oatmeal.
I added vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and a touch of honey to improve the taste. It's a decent alternative to a buttery, sugary, and overly processed traditional cookie.

I'm glad I read your warning before I ate the cookies. It really did taste only of banana and oatmeal. I don't know why I was expecting something else with just those two ingredients. The taste of the banana was so strong to me that it didn't feel like I was eating a cookie. Next time I feel like I need to add a tiny bit of dark chocolate chips or sth to make it taste better.

oliviathai it's like the 2 ingredient pancakes. For my cookies I add cinnamon, nutmeg, cranberries or raisins, and mini dark chocolate chips. It's still sweet and tastes like a cookie but without added sugar other than the chips.

This was the best recipe for my insane sweet tooth I get at night. I made it taste less bland by adding vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, ground ginger, and a tablespoon of honey. Half the cookies had sugar free strawberry jelly placed in an indent in the middle of the cookies and OMG it was GOOD.

Was Reading the comments, and a lot of people are asking about the calories and servings. It's one banana( 105 calories if large) And 1 cup of oats(307 calories, but only 44 from fat) So in total for ALL of the cookies it'd be 412 calories. How many per depends on how many you made. And If you added something such as peanut butter, or fruit. You'd have to account for those calories, but they wouldn't add too many to the individual cookie. Also, I made these and they were great! Whole family loved them. Second time I tried I blended them a little too well, and they turned out bad. So to those of you who think they weren't the best, maybe try using more oats, less banana, or just don't blend them up as well as you did. ^^ Ty for uploading Cassey

You don't have to follow the exact instructions. So just add one banana, how much oats you think you need, smush it (with gloves on, it's easier). You don't have to add anything. If you want it to be sweet, put less oats. Then, put it in the oven for like 25 minutes, 350 degrees, and top it with peanut butter. I ate mine with fruits. OMG Delicious.

  • @AmyFMcCready
    @AmyFMcCready 10 лет назад +7

Basically, these are good if you don't compare them to a cookie. Think of them as a warm chewy oaty biscuit. I hate bananas but the subtle flavour wasnt too bad, and its a great way for me to eat them! I added cinnamon and a little honey (which meant i had to add more oats) but they tasted pretty yum. Gonna add some nuts and maybe dark chocolate the next time i make them! definitely a worthy healthy substitute!

I have got this right for my little convection oven. Today I did double, divided into two, one for raisins, one for coconut shred and loads of cacao. I do them smaller too, one eleven and one nine. I have them on my buffet table, and have discovered I love them best the next day. They keep well and are very portable. My testing has been great, I love this recipe.
The others I do are one with cinnamon and the other with ginger. I am happy!!!!!!!!

I just saw this on Facebook today and I have to thank you so much. I always wanted to learn what to do with super ripe bananas my family wouldn't eat and banana bread was not an option. These cookies are perfect! Even though I am fasting today I made a batch with a potato masher (Don't like gooey fingers) and it was so fast and easy I just had to run up here and thank you. Now my family can have hot fresh cookies anytime and I don't feel guilty for giving them unhealthy sugar treats. I thought of lots of different flavors to try tomorrow when I am off my fast...THANKS AGAIN!

I think one of the reasons why some people are responding with disdain towards the video is because the thumbnail cookie is not the same as the actual cookie baked. The thumbnail is a traditional cookie, while the cookie in the video is a vegan cookie. I think if it was marketed as what it was then people would have been less likely to be rude because they would have known what they were clicking on.

So I tried the recipe and wasnt too impressed but I tried to add/change some stuff to make it better
    1. For the 1/2 of the oats, blend them up to a fine flour. And mix the rest with the other 1/2 of the oats. This way you wont be biting into just rolled oats but something "different"
    2. Add some vanilla extract or whatever extract works with the oatey and banana flavor (like chocolate! :P)
    3. I also put some honey/raw natural sugar because it adds moisture to the cookies and add even more sweetness. (About a half tablespoon of each to equal 1 tablespoon)
    4. What's a desert without a little indulgence? Drizzle natural nut butters or even cacao nibs on top of the cookies to add some pizazz.
    5. Add about an 1/8 teaspoon of baking powder if you want cookies that rise.
    6. I also heated up my mushed banana... well because it was frozen... i don't think it will change the recipe that much but go ahead and try lol
The cookies did come out chewy and much more fun to eat. But hey, the point is to make awesome deserts with few ingredients. Of course you wont get the exact same thing :)
    Hope this helps!

I came and watched this after Bubz raved about these and I tried these about 3 times but they still didn't come good! Did any of ya'll cookies turn out really kinda like rubbery and have a very weird texture to them? :( and these looked so good

Did you bake the cookies in the oven? At first i tried and it came out a weird texture like you said, but a few days ago i tried in the microwave and they were great!
      P.S. I came from Bubz too! :)

Haha, I came from Bubz too XD
Mine turned out fine, I cooked them for a bit less time than she said so they came out nice :3 The first time I tried they came out too hard.

+Nini Truong I make these with a handful of choco chips and some nuts of some sort, Almonds, walnut whatever is laying around. And a generous helping of Cinnamon spice. I Mill my oats first. easiest way would be to run them through a food processor first for a bit. So that it becomes like really coarse oat flour basically. My mom generally doesn't like the texture either. So I spread her half of what I make VERY thin and put chococips on tops rather than mixing it. The nuts I still mix in. Then just watch your time. Check them in 5mins and then eyeball it. So they come out much crispier.
      Hope this helps!

I just made them!! I used 1 cup (2 packets) of minute ready cinnamon and spice oatmeal, 1/4 cup (2 mini boxes) of raisins, and 1 yellow banana! I put it in the microwave for 1 minute and put them in the refrigerator to cool, and then ate them! They are SO delicious, and it is SO simple, quick, and easy! I recommend trying my version too if you want a different taste! (: enjoy! xoxo

I made these with a pinch of nutmeg, plenty of vanilla extract, cinnamon and cumin, and a smattering of stevia chocolate bits mixed in. I baked them a bit longer to get them good and crunchy at the edges and they're genuinely lovely and don't just taste like baked porridge with banana. They're quite sweet and the chocolate is pretty much the only unhealthy part. I think it makes for a good alternative to a cookie baked with butter and sugar. Thank you for the recipe c:

    I used 1cup oats
    2 bananas
    1tsp of vanilla extract
And as much agave nectar as needed (usually 1 tsp) then when ready i put a bit of PB on top of them and the warmth of the cookies melted the pb and they were so good.
