Well created Dave, very moving and narrated with your unique philosophical style. We must never forget those that served. Best regards from Norfolk. Roy.
It must have been fantastic getting a parking ticket off you back in the day , listing to you read out of your guide book I would have had my cash out ready to pay you great stuff 👍
I offer my respect to those men who endured and fought in that real life nightmare that was The Great War. Thanks for showing us and also for that nice ride out.
Wonderful video. I remember reading that Wilfred Owen quote at school, if memory serves me correctly in the novel "All Quiet On The Western Front". Has always stuck with me. Lest We Forget.
Glad you found the memorial okay Dave. When you’re next in Masham, take a look at the Leeds Pals plaque in the what was the old Masham railway station. The Pals disembarked at the station and were then marched six miles all the way up to the camp, presumably carrying their luggage etc. Not the easiest of walks. Great video cheers👍🏍 Paul…
A very interesting and delightful video this morning David. The little Enfield is certainly looking well and built for the route. Obviously your time in the police has provided a very knowledgeable insight of the area, and it's nice to have this passed on to such as myself, not an area I have frequented. Cheers.
Sure wish I could ride a road that has more sheep than autos. Living in the States makes me envious of your smaller roads that are ideal for motos like Norman. I guess the grass is always greener in the other pasture applys here. In the States we have such distances and various types roads. Always looks so much better when looking from Norman's headlight bucket. Great video.!!! 👍 👍
Thank you John though I do envy your landscape and the freedoms to camp which we don’t have because all the land is privately owned and denied to the people
Another nice saunter, the Met Office notwithstanding, Dave. That 1952 Morris MO Oxford at 10:18 is something of a rarity these days! The Great War was a total waste and only happened because the various countries had painted themselves into political corners due to treaties and none of the politicians had the sense to say 'whoa!' My uncle won an MM, was gassed, came back to Blighty and died from his lung damage in 1926.
One of my favourite rides and areas to ride in, although that route I do the opposite way round, with few variations (and I start from Masham, as I come from the north). Himalayan Gardens is a nice place to visit too.
The roads you ride must be the best in the country for views. Would be nice if they put a new surface look a bit bumpy. Also thanks for paying respect for those that saved us.
Hi TBW, Thank you for this video. I was unaware of Breary Banks. My grandfathers two brothers were in the Leeds Pals. One was 19 years old and I'm not sure of the age of the other. Both were killed on the first day of the Batttle of the Somme. Lions led by Donkeys; I recall was the expression used to describe their commanders. I'll put Breary Banks on my Bucket List. By the way the 350 seems to be your bike of choice?? Nice ride Best Regards MikeN ( By the way, Belvior Castle is pronounced Beaver )
Well Dave I decided to take the wife on the Masham loop this afternoon. Due to the appalling weather today we went in the car instead of the T120. All went well until we approached Lofthouse to find the road totally closed and no way through. Had to go all the way back to Masham to get home in Silsden. Added another 30 plus miles to the trip. A bit of warning from your good self about the road closure would certainly have helped. That’s assuming it was closed when you filmed. Went to see the Leeds Pals memorial. Very moving.
@stephendoyle7811 Hi Stephen I DID clearly state in the video that the road would be closed for 12 days from 12th August….at time 31:47….precisely so people would be aware….did you miss that? 😎
@@thebingleywheeler I clearly didn’t 😢. Sorry to cast aspersions. I was in bed with a cup of tea very early. Obviously wasn’t awake properly. Well despite the extra miles and the rain it was still a great run out. Even bought two pork pies and from Wethersfield’s in Patley Bridge for my tea.
Nice route. Went too appleyards to look at the vstrom 800re. The bike looked great. But tbh felt like I was a time waster. No test ride availability and not a lot of communication. Bit disappointed really. Not the way to start a new bike purchase. On a brighter note keep up the great work on the channel. Regards
Never ridden the Pateley/Kirkby Malzeard way to Masham. Definitely my next foray into Yorkshire. By the way, no criticism meant or implied, but l think Belvoir is pronounced "beaver." A little like Mainwaring/ Mannering, Cholmondely/ Chumley etc.
Don't delay, we live only but once my friend. I can attest that the classic 350 has a magical feel to it. When you are riding it makes you feel so special. Infact I'm on holiday in Greece and I can't wait to get back to my bike, 'Vince'.
This comment is not related to this video but to the KTM cam wear issue. I would suggest you look at a video by "Dirty Garage Guy" on the KTM 790/890 camshaft oiling problem first highlighted in 2018 I believe which is still a problem now and has not been fully addressed by KTM to date, which to me shows a mild contempt for its customers and I might add is an automotive norm these days seemingly.

Great video - thanks for making it.
Thank you for that great ride and for the new camera angles that show nice details of the beautiful 350 in the nice blue they call grey 😉

Enjoyed watching that. Ta! Must try and do a Dales tour this year 🤞
Super video.Wish we had scenery like that round here.
Thank you for sharing! Great video paying respect where respect is due!
Ah yes.! The Bingley Wheeler Moor, I remember it well. What a smashing route. 👍
I enjoyed the ride out Dave. Much appreciated. Until the next time.

Cheers Paul will do and many thanks for the spot on directions 👍🏻
Don't forget the "weather stone"
Fantastic vlog Dave thank you. Excellent use of different camera angles too showing Norman's suspension working. Regards, Mo 😊 👍
Cheers Mo 😎
I know editing hours of video from 2-3 cameras is "work"
You do have a passion for punishment 😂😂
Thankyou for that 🇨🇦

Good Morning Dave , I have to say what a brilliant ride out today on Norman , plus seeing the memorial , take care & ride safe
Love the space music with the scenery
Rather listen to the bike! I know it's there amongst the music and wind whistles 😂😂
@@stevet599 it's only a 350 , what possible could you hear
What a lovely ride. Currently up in Ullapool, but took car as rain. Am a wimp, these days. Sunny dry days only.😊
Thank you for the WWI recollection and poem!

Very informative pal. Norman is sounding well 👍🏻
Cheers buddy 👍🏻
War what good is it for? Dave a delightful trip!

Fabulous 👍👍👍
The Leeds pals embarked on their journey to the Somme from masham some never to return. A family member was one
great video!

I'll confirm these roads ARE THE BEST!
I was round there last week and you have answered my question what that was. Beautiful around there
Yes it’s stunning John 👍🏻

Just a heads up Dave went to lofthouse on wednesday and the road over the tops is closed.
it says for 12 days.
Yes that’s what I pointed out in the video
It’s no good my yearning for another 350 won’t abate and your videos going over the dales isn’t helping! Great vid

@@steven-vn9ui already had one 🤣 traded all my bikes and got t120. Great bike but miss the classic. I was trying to be sensible and regret it!

Very enjoyable thanks - am reading the John Buchan Richard Hanny novels so nice synergy with those WWI rememberances 👍
