    Gina, another use for your garlic scapes is to puree them, then blend them with butter to your preferred consistency, press into a thin layer (1/4 inch) in a parchment paper lined pan, slice into small squares and freeze. This garlic butter can be used in any cooking, or garlic bread, etc.

    Your before and after shots of the container cabin yard made me think of all the before and after shots you are probably going to be doing of the main pasture and house area. I bet it would be helpful to set aside maybe a staked point or points to take the before and after shots up there from, so they will be all from the exact same perspective. Can't wait to see all the progress you make this season and in seasons to come. I really miss the daily vids, but these 30 minute double day vids make up for it.

    If I may suggest some ideas for the cabin, what about taking large boulders outlining a patio area out the sliding doors, filling that in and maybe pavers or just packed gravel for a sitting area with the firepit or stone fireplace on the outer edge. Do a covered patio over about 2/3 rds of that, but not out to the firepit or fireplace. The covered patio will allow more usage during winter also. If you do the the boulders be sure and make steps in a couple areas. It's looking great.

      @StoneKathryn 3 года назад

      Some have suggested to use the big rocks as a wall to hold in a gravel leveled off area off the back of the contained as a picnic area and have a fire pit in the middle area. I think that would look cool. It would drain well and the fire pit would be isolated from any plant material. It would be raised so stepping down to the area from the cabin would be easier. I have no idea what they will do. Using those huge rocks around the picnic area would be great whatever they decide.

    Good Morning! You guys made a perfect choice when you got the tractor and excavator. Work will be so much easier with this combo. Love the property! I am an archer and would make a 3D coarse on the property. What a beautiful spot for one. Too bad you guys are not into archery as it is a great sport. Well - back to the workshop - just cut down a birch tree and am making crafts with it. Take care!!

    I'd like to share a couple of things: you could dangle the cleaned bottles from tree limbs, making a wind chime, also, please be selective when cutting down the smaller spindly looking trees, you don't want to cut down a walnut, hickory, or hazelnut by mistake, the wild life will appreciate it. Love watching the journey. I'm sending a tree guide, you may or may not need it, I'm not judging, Olivia might find it fun, I did when I was her age.

      garden walker ~ I've loved field guides since I was a child and I STILL refer to mine frequently. I now have field guides for almost everything.

    +From what I could see it looks like a Bald Face Hornet's nwst. It will only have one opening to the inside some where around the bottom but they are always adding new layers to the outside and taring down layers on the inside. It will be safe to take down the nest after the first couple of hard freezes. They will not use that nest next year and it is fun to tare it apart to see how it is built.

    With as many big rocks you have, have you thought about making a huge rock pile in the center of the future goat pasture for the goats to climb on? You probably could make it 20 feet high, the goats would love that.
