    Thanks for keeping your appliances running as long as possible. Too many people would rather just buy a new vehicle after so many years. Understandable, but it's better if we can maintain what we already have and save ourselves money, the mechanics and manufacturers resources, and the natural environment.

      @@ohyeahyeah7410 I'm saying be handy like this will save you a ton of money. Whether you're fixing your car, house, etc. Like the old saying: "Give a man a fish, he'll eat for a day. Teach a man to fish, he'll eat for his lifetime."

      @@ohyeahyeah7410 Not really the soldering specifically (even though that’s a great skill), but most technicians would be clueless to this problem and unable to diagnose it unless they have prior experience with the vehicle. If you’ve ever tried to fix a car, you know how expensive it can be to fix red herrings.

    Clean your tip more often and add fresh solder sooner, before original solder liquifies, it will help heat transfer and therefore stress circuit board less. Nice video, btw!

    On the Volvo 240, if it doesn’t start, 9 times out of 10, it’s always the fuel pump relay.
    I should note that lead free solder forms little whiskers over time and it can cause shorts. Lead solder doesn’t do that but due to the toxicity of lead, it’s no longer used.

    I have done so much work on my 2001 Honda, nothing terribly intensive, just a bunch of little time consuming things.
    The most obnoxious one was the brake pedal has a little rubber or plastic disc that presses UP on the brake lights to keep them off, weird design choice. It made my battery die since the brake lights were on over night.

    • @RelaxingASMR
      @RelaxingASMR  2 года назад +2

      I have experienced that. Most recently on my other Accord. Luckily those are the same rubber disc that steel office door frames use that keep the heavy wooden doors from slamming too hard. Cheap fix.
