Thank you for posting this. My sister and I grew up watching Waltons mountain and Little house on the prairie. These wholesome shows reenforced what our parents were already instilling in us,Family is first and material things aren’t important.I miss those memories,and a much more wholesome time ,watching this show with my best friend,my sister who has since passed.Thanks for the great memories!
same. me and my mom would watch it before I went to sleep as a kid. I try and learn from this show as I get older. be respectful, helpful, useful. everyone is so greedy nowadays. you have a role in society and with your family. id help my neighbors with yard work or car work, but I know they'll never help me with anything. I miss having a proper community and everyone is genuine with their actions and what not. there's many lessons I've probably haven't said, but the world is really missing out on some of the lessons and knowledge this show has to teach. do what is right

Each time I watch a new episode of 22 Kids and counting I think of the Waltons. Who ever was responsible for the character castings got it bang on from young and old. This was a special programme just like the Wonder years brilliant.😊

Hard to believe this was filmed (outside shots) in Frazier Park California I think it’s funny that as a kid I didn’t notice that while it was supposed to be rural Virginia near the Blue ridge mountains it was actually dry, dusty, SoCal. Same with the Dukes of Hazzard. Some if the first episodes were filmed in Georgia I believe but after that look at all the bare dirt and dry dust. Cheers

The Waltons is one of my favorite shows I watched them when they first aired and I was a teenager and till this day It's one of my all time favorite shows but I could never take to that kid Elizabeth or the cranky old grandmother haha the one where Ilivia ,,Elizabeth and Jim Bob got lost in the woods and ran into the moonshiners, of that kid wasn't so unbelievably hard headed no one be lost but she had to run off after the old chicken then when Olivia realized they better get out of the moonshine camp or it be trouble but no the kid had to have a drink if water if I had a kid that caused that much trouble if it's based on a true event then I'd have to sell her to the gypsies and get rid of her and grandma could tag along with her haha
I hate Elizabeth.. horrible kid. She was ok when she got past 10 yrs old. Did you see the episode when she had that poltergeist thing happen to her.. thats scary if it really happened . Sometimes those kids needed a slap the way they scream and shout all the time 😂

Turns out the guy is a writer. He invites him to stay with the family. Next day John Boy is supposed to go cut trees for lumber & he spends most of the day talking about writing & doesn't bring back many trees for lumber. The dad is disappointed that he let the family down. 😑 When part of the house burns down, he thinks it's his fault because he left his lit pipe on a hallway table. All from his need to smoke a pipe because all the writers at school do it. 🙄 Only justice was that all his precious writings were burnt to a crisp. 🤣 All the trouble that came to the family when he had to write in his lame ass little newspaper about Mein Kampf even though several people warned him not to. He had to be stubborn because he thought of himself as a "journalist" just because he had a printing press. 🙄 He was also just a whiny little bitch, complained about everything. I'm pretty sure Mary Ellen could kick his ass easily.😆 I could go on & on....😑😜
