- Pickling eggs is an easy way to pack so many flavors into a typically bland protein snack. Brushfire Eggs, like the name would suggest, is a blend of smoke, heat, and herbs infused into hard boiled eggs. This recipe takes very little time, is a great addition to charcuterie boards or an on the go breakfast, and also makes for great gifts to your foodie friends. The ingredients and the supplies necessary to make these are listed below and please feel free to leave a comment if you have any questions.

Thank you so much for sharing!
I love the array of "styles" for pickling eggs.. This looks to be a keeper!
I'll have to give this a go with quail eggs! Thinking I may have to adjust smoke time for the smaller eggs.. Or just use a few drops liquid smoke....
Pickled quail eggs sounds fantastic! I agree, perhaps a little less time in the smoker for smaller eggs. I haven’t messed with liquid smoke but I’m sure that would work fine as well. Thanks for watching!
Wow that tasty recipe very healthy full watched
Thanks for watching and leaving the kind comment. Will go to your channel and watch some mukbang 👌🏽

Epic recipe. We’ll be trying it down in New Zealand 😎. Thanks!
Love hearing it! Enjoy and let me know how it turns out. The more smoke the better for the eggs.
How did they turnout mate?
Great vid brother! Loved pickled anything and this one is now on my list!! Subbed and looking forward to more videos 👊🏼🔥💨

@@outdoorindoortexan Thanks so much! I will check out more of your videos.
Going to try this weekend, going to smoke some meat for 4th of July. Might as well give it a try with all the aroma going on!
I like the sound of that! Happy 4'th.
Big jars of pickled eggs and pickled onions , old school Australian food from fish n chip places the Greeks and Italians used to own. 👍
Australia sounds right up my alley! It’s funny how similar foods find themselves in different parts of the world. Thanks for watching and leaving the comment!
Nice video!
I really like it 😊😊❤
Thanks so much!!
Pretty interesting man. I do a lot of pickled stuff but have never tried eggs.
They're really great and so easy to make. We constantly have a jar on rotation in the fridge.
Try this recipe, however I'm from California gotta f it up some how.. trying a teaspoon of liquid smoke instead of the smoker a cobra pepper from the garden. Great recipe 👍🏼
That sounds awesome! There’s no F’ing it up. Just run with the basic structure and add this and that from there! Thanks for watching!
@@outdoorindoortexan fantastic recipe everyone that's tried an egg asked for another.. going to makeshift a smoker & do it properly, thanks again for the creative recipe 👍🏼
I love hearing it! Thank you so much for circling back with the feedback. Makes my day.
Nice👌🏽 This looks so tasty
Thanks so much! Let me know if you try it out and thanks for watching.
@@outdoorindoortexan I will definitely let you know 😊and You're Welcome🙏🏽
Amazing presentation and your voice is magnificent!
Thanks so much! You made my morning. :)
Thanks, I'm going to try this. Just curious, can you fill the jar completely with eggs?
PS. I liked the grill being crusty, it gave a great look to the eggs.
Haha thanks, I’ve been using it so much lately the grates have a healthy seasoning on them from previous cooks. You can fill it all the way, I just try to keep all eggs fully under the vinegar, so they get a good soak of flavor. Thanks for watching!
Hot damn... I’ll get to use my mini cold smokehouse!
Get on it! Let me know how it turns out. Also, love the name 😂
this looks so delicious! never make this before, it is such a great side dishh!
i like this idea :D
Thanks! Let me know if you ever try the recipe out and what you think of it. Super easy to make!
Hey from Ennis! Are those duck eggs? The yolks look really big. Anyway, doesn't the hour on the smoker make the eggs rubbery?
Howdy! No they’re regular ol chicken eggs. The smoke hasn’t rubbered up any batches in our house, but I’ve definitely run across that texture with other pickled eggs in the past. I’m not sure if it’s a matter of temperature while smoking, how they were boiled, or what. It could possibly be sitting too long in the brine that brings out that texture. We usually empty a finished jar within the week. Thanks for watching and let me know how yours turn out!
What kind/brand of pickling spice do you use? I tried this recipe but wasn't a big fan of the pickling spice mix I used. Thanks!!
I typically use Ball (same brand as the mason jars) pickling spice, but you can also tweak it by adding/subtracting spices you like and dislike. The cloves in a lot of those mixtures come off too strong for people. Thanks so much for watching!
@@outdoorindoortexan Awesome, I'll give that one a try, thanks again!1
Can the brine be reused like for a batch of shrimps, then vegetables and so on ?
I haven’t tried to re-use it, so I’m honestly not sure. I would assume you could use it one more time but each use soaks the spices into whatever is sitting in the brine so it may alter the flavor after a couple uses.
@@outdoorindoortexan Makes sense. Thanks man !
Sure thing! Thanks for watching!
Would using a little liquid smoke be ok if one does not have a smoker?
I’m assuming it would be completely fine but haven’t tried it myself. Thanks so much for watching!
I have never heard of pickling eggs before! Other than eating them as a snack or on a cheese board are there other ways you enjoy this?
They're also a addition to egg salads, chicken salads, tuna salads, etc.. You can ultimately swap these anywhere a recipe calls for hard boiled eggs. If you've never had a boiled egg, they are essentially a boiled egg, with hints of vinegar and herbs. Some eggs do turn slightly rubbery if they sit in the jar for too long, so if you're a texture person, be careful about that.
My God many thanks for not going
through the process of how to boil
and peel eggs properly.
That's one of the first things I learned to do kitchen wise way before I ever needed to shave.
About the same time I learned to make Jello properly and make biscuits, etc. etc.
The basic stuff every person should know before they grow up
You need to try smoked deviled eggs. I prefer cherry wood.
Thanks, Chris! I’ve been kicking around trying that out lately.
I watched a video on pickle eggs and the man poked holes in the eggs with a toothpick, do you think that will help infuse flavor?
That’s an excellent idea! Yes, definitely give that a shot and I bet it’ll help infuse flavor in half the time.
Thanks for weighing in! Botulism is no joke.
That was regular clear vinegar
I’m honestly amazed it took this long for someone to notice/comment. In the ingredient list, I list either options depending on preference. Should have included it in the voice over as well. Thanks for watching!
@@outdoorindoortexan lol my first time checking out your video, thumbs up
Thanks so much, John!
Poke the eggs at one end with a toothpick. Flavors will be incorporated easier.
Thanks for the tip!! Will try next time.
Good to know! Thanks for weighing in!
Good way to introduce botulism
Weirdly another person commented that concern but left a lengthy helpful comment, which is what my second reply was for, but he later deleted it. Long story short, yup bad idea to use toothpicks. Also the bigger thing to avoid is leaving these at room temperature for long periods of time. Straight to the fridge! Thanks for swinging by.
Whoa, could that grill grate have been any crustier? Get a grill brush and clean it, man! Otherwise, nice recipe and video! Also, you said apple cider vinegar in the video, but it was obviously distilled vinegar.
Haha yup I just finished smoking a Pork Butt on it the day before, if I remember correctly. And yup again, you caught the color difference. You can use either, depending on what flavor appeals to you more. I mention it in the written recipe part but forgot to make mention in voice over. Thanks so much for watching!
Lol, I almost guessed that it was from a brisket, since you’re from Texas! 😂😂
Your be right probably 50% of the time 😂
I’ve tried several different recipes, using apple cider vinegar and it is horrible. Regular clear vinegar is much better.
Thanks for watching and leaving the comment! I’ve been wanting to try some stranger vinegars, are there any you can suggest a bit off the beaten path?
