Thanks for the shout out Dillion . I’m trying to get to 500 subs. The Felt album went to the right guy. I’m out looking all the time never know what I’ll find next. Thx art
I live in Los Angeles and found a first German of Ege Bamyasi at the Goodwill. I was still a new collector and wasn’t aware of the band, but I could tell by the jacket that it was from Europe. I think that’s my best thrift find.
As always, thanks for the recomendations!! Noted some of this albums to add to my colection! Also I want to recomend you and enveryone here, some records from The Basque Country(North Spain) where I live, that you might not know and might like: Haizea - Haizea (prog, folk, rock) 1979 Enbor - Enbor (prog, folk, rock) 1979/80 Errobi - Ametsaren Bidea 1979(Psych, prog rock) Itziar - Itziar 1979(prog, folk, rock)
Bought lots of Can albums in the 70s. Spent around 2 years taking lots of drugs and listening to nothing but Can to the exclusion of all other music. Still my favourite band. Though I don't really think of them as a band, more a force of nature.
There is a rare 45 that goes for crazy money that I've been looking for; for about a little over a year. It's from a Memphis group called Kick and the song is called Lollie Pop, and it came out on Jomar records in 1983 but it's soooooooo difficult to find, but they just came out with a 2 lp Memphis Funk collaboration with all Memphis funk groups, it's called stone crush and it has this song I'm talking about but we'll see if I cave to the 2 lp Stone Crush records or continue to try and look for that rare 45. Just wanted to tell you about a great rare funk record that is awesome
My Noble Records/Proto Metal/Acid Rock/Psyche Playlist grows and grows. I'll be picking a few of these up. My ears Thank You. My wallet...? Don't ask. Cheers D!!
Bro I understand that we all have our own opinions about music and our preferences you know but Pink Floyd is not better than Yes! They are both on the same level as far as music and creativity. Yes is a harder pill to swallow sometimes but their music is as groundbreaking as Pink Floyd.
Some wonderful stuff there! I've been looking for Bacamarte for ages, even poor copies are too expensive. I'd love an original Wigwam too, the reissue is very well done though with the booklet too.
Hey Dillon, It's starting to get busy for the holidays and just need to say Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from us at Carolina Beach. Thanks for taking the time to make videos.
Do you have Meet the Beatles? I have one that my mom and dad gave to me from there records. Do you know what it would be worth? Cat# is st 2047. Also my friend had over 900 records in storage (around 130 are 78's). I just finished months of going through them checking to make sure they are playable, and trying to look them up for worth. She wants me to try and sell them. Big chore, I have no idea where to start. I did look on discogs. Of course she let me keep some for my own listening. All these albums have been in storage for almost around 40 years.
Gentle Giant - a fan from their first (Acquiring the Taste - UK original press) onward. Also have the US Octopus, great die cut. Have you gotten the S Wilson remixes? Trying to track down Power and the Glory remix - anyone in your community have it, drop a line.
Do you have Hapshash and the Coloured Coat, from 1967? I have it on deep red coloured vinyl, it’s a very slapdash sound but has become a rare record. Also I have Juicy Lucy from 1969 a great raunchy blues U.K. rock band, their first album has the hit Who Do You Love, it’s rare now on the Vertigo label and the cover is a wonder 😊
When I was a four year old I listened to the stooges I was the baddest kid on the monkey bars… I love to spin old dub records like the Upsetter or Scientist or King Tubby it’s a great work out for your system
Fairyport is a great Wigwam album . Love Records is The essential label here in Finland lots of proge, fusion. Wigwam"s masterpice Nuclear Nightclub highly recommended.
Strongly recommend digging into Brazil’s psych era late 60s early 70s they made some amazing psych mixed with traditional Brazilian music definitely some gold to be found (gal costa is a good start)
Some great stuff there. First three albums are ones I need. So jealous. I know how you feel about Octopus, I've got records all over the place and have forgotten that I have certain things, and ended up having two copies of some LP's. Trying to log them all on discogs to remind me what I have!
I’ve decided not to hate on any group. As a collector it’s stupid to do that. I just don’t listen those records until I decide to retry and see if I was wrong about them.
Appreciate your honesty about Can. Some of their stuff grabs you immediately and you see what the fuss is all about; particularly "Tago Mago" & "Soundtracks." However, some of it seems a bit loose and a unfinished sounding. I've always struggled with their disdain for putting any effort into their lyrics, rather just leaving it up to the vocalist to make up stuff on the spot? This has been something that has always prevented me from getting into Can like I'd really want to. I think if the lyrics were really about something it would help bring the music more into focus. Either that or have no vocals at all.
I haven't heard you mention anything about Randy Holden Population 3. Thought you would have this by now and share your thoughts compared to Population 2.
Yeah I should have. I heard it a couple years ago, and couldn’t talk about it. So I forgot to talk about it when it came out. I think it’s awesome. Totally different from 2, so hard to compare
Love your music hipster impression. It's so true, people will try to out cool each other in some kind of musical arm's race. In the end, it does not matter how many people love a band, if you don't, then you don't. Personally, I love Can, but it wasn't love at first listen.
Hi! I love your channel! I have a question maybe you'd know... are Classic rock and country albums more valuable if made in Germany or Netherlands or England? I have some rock and country albums in excellent condition but don't see many like them. American groups but the albums were made in Europe
I’ve never heard of the Acid-Folk genre before. At first I thought it was a Dillonism, but found it’s a real thing. Always learning things in your videos Dillon.
I love that comment about Yes and Pink Floyd. Why the chasm in demand these days? I would say Pink Floyd wrote better songs, but Yes were much better musicians (not that Floyd were lousy musicians or that Yes wrote bad songs). Both bands have cool cover art. Strange. ELP is another band that people just don't seem to crave like they once did.
When I watch your channel I see what the collectors world thinks of some bands, like the Beatles you mentioned. I really don't get that, it is funny to hear this for me. I am a pro musician all my live, my opinions on this collectors talk is totally different. There is really a big gap between musician and music collectors. Not a problem, just funny.
I always wanted an original Can lp
Thanks for the shout out Dillion . I’m trying to get to 500 subs. The Felt album went to the right guy. I’m out looking all the time never know what I’ll find next. Thx art

Just curious but which one? I’ve been to the Hollywood goodwill a bunch and never find anything! Nice score
That "Island" cover is by H R Giger, the painter that designed "the alien" form the movie "Alien"

I'm Brazilian, very happy to see you talking about about Depois do Fim!
Bought lots of Can albums in the 70s. Spent around 2 years taking lots of drugs and listening to nothing but Can to the exclusion of all other music. Still my favourite band. Though I don't really think of them as a band, more a force of nature.
Love the boxset of the Beatles. Where can I find one?

Do both. That way, you get the song you want, find other bands, and likely end up with 2 rare things eventually
How come none of the record stores are selling records by the Warning?
Anyone know?
Thank you
Ugh, I bought a Felt reissue and it's been stuck in customs for a month.
My Noble Records/Proto Metal/Acid Rock/Psyche Playlist grows and grows. I'll be picking a few of these up. My ears Thank You. My wallet...? Don't ask. Cheers D!!
Ive contacted bands/artists looking for their long out of print records too lol. Thats when you know you have a real problem. But it does work!
Bro I understand that we all have our own opinions about music and our preferences you know but Pink Floyd is not better than Yes! They are both on the same level as far as music and creativity. Yes is a harder pill to swallow sometimes but their music is as groundbreaking as Pink Floyd.
Ok, After hearing your rant on Marvin Gaye, I’m pretty sure our tastes in music are perfectly identical.
You have to get a hold of a 1973 US pressing of Gentle Giant - Octopus, amazing cover still wish that I had mine.
Some wonderful stuff there! I've been looking for Bacamarte for ages, even poor copies are too expensive. I'd love an original Wigwam too, the reissue is very well done though with the booklet too.
Do you have any info on how many copies pressed and what pressing plant used ? Cheers
Lots of great albums. I love the sound quality of the Rastaman Vibration UHQR! Looking forward to the next Marley release from Chad and Tuff Gong.
Me too!
"I put together my own computer and blahblahblah" 😆
I'm just always waiting to hear you say something has alot of sitar on it. The sitar albums always win me over.
Any chance you'll be putting any of the tie-dye merch up on the website. The t-shirts and hoodie are awesome
Killer stuff, best stuff you've shown in a while. Especially Can.
have you heard CAN's magnum opus Tago Mago?
Hey Dillon, It's starting to get busy for the holidays and just need to say Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from us at Carolina Beach. Thanks for taking the time to make videos.

THnks--at least 7 added to my Roon library!

Wigwam is a finnish prog band! Their singer was british tho. The label is a legendary label that changed the national music scene back in the day
Fairyport is a great Wigwam album . Love Records is The essential label here in Finland lots of proge, fusion. Wigwam"s masterpice Nuclear Nightclub highly recommended.
I had no idea that hot buttered soul had a mofi... adding it to the wishlist now
Hey Dillon!! Saw That Art Had Found The"Felt" Album. !! .50 Cents!!!! Glad You Ended Up With It t!!! Good Show Lad!!
Strongly recommend digging into Brazil’s psych era late 60s early 70s they made some amazing psych mixed with traditional Brazilian music definitely some gold to be found (gal costa is a good start)
Oh yeah I have! I have a bunch of gal Costa records
I look these records up on spotify as you show them. Gomorrha is good stuff. Felt was good too.
Some great stuff there. First three albums are ones I need. So jealous. I know how you feel about Octopus, I've got records all over the place and have forgotten that I have certain things, and ended up having two copies of some LP's. Trying to log them all on discogs to remind me what I have!
That’s the way to do it!
Probably the only Bowie lp I actually want is the Diamond Dogs non airbrushed
Wigwam being is another good record greetings from finland
Also, my first thought upon recognizing the top half-inch of the Diamond Dogs cover was "check for the wiener!"
I’ve decided not to hate on any group. As a collector it’s stupid to do that. I just don’t listen those records until

Right on. Thanks for all the heavy rotations. I've grabbed many records from the videos. Look forward to many more.

Generally yes but it really depends on what you have.
I’ve never heard of the Acid-Folk genre before. At first I thought it was a Dillonism, but found it’s a real thing. Always learning things in your videos Dillon.
Haha yeah it is a real thing! A real cool thing!
Amazing finds. Agree what’s going on always got
Loved to death
For good reason!
When I was 16 I bought Ege Bamyashi because of the cool cover.
You did good!

Haha that is true. I’ve had my feet in both camps 🤣
Holy smokes that Bacamarte album is killer!
who else is gettin more than a little bit confused by the seemingly endless amount of vinyl reissues of classic albums ?
How do you tell if a record is mofi and what does mofi mean?
It’s a record put out on the label Mobile Fidelity! MoFi is slang.
okra in the can
🤣
Show me yo records
People hate on the beatles cuz they suck!
Yeah ok

Just found a guilty pleasure get. fever tree. Love
