I love how Butcher hates supes and wants to exterminate them all and Homelander hates humans and wants to exterminate them all. They’re both crazy genocidal maniacs who think they’re good on opposite sides of the coin.
idk if butcher literally wants to exterminate all supes. Butcher understands the human meaning of ‘loved ones’ and has wavered in his goal a couple times because of it Homelander meanwhile sees people as lower than him and is developmentally stunted because he’s constantly chasing the love/adoration he’s never felt in his life. honestly if he wasn’t such a powerful psychopath, homelander is more pitiable than butcher to me
He would want to be a replacement cast for a character that really makes me think it would be his favorite character and also reminds me of it, which is Lingering Will.
This has gotta be one of the many great examples of Butcher’s brutal preferences over logical thinking He’d rather take immediate action than literally anything else, rather it be something complex like using Mesmer as a tool and prisoner to have an advantage over Vought, or something as simple as saying “Not the kid!” As long as he gets his hands dirty, that’s all that matters
Man ... Imagine seeing your own death by a brutal man and then immediately being subjected to such death. I'd have just rather he shot me lmfao. That's such a cold blooded end to Mesmer.
This can also not be the case at the same time. He either could've showed him what he has done to others or completely nothing and it was just him figuring out on his own that he is fucked.
Mesmer should’ve thought very carefully about his choices and honestly I think it was extremely poor Choice for him to backstab the boys like that he was better off not dealing with Home lander especially given to the fact that he was really just a super villain not a hero and he didn’t really care what billy Butcher would’ve done to him anyway if he found out that he betrayed them if he never had betrayed them he would’ve gotten to continue with his life of course he could’ve always go back on the deal he made but betraying them would have cost him his life and he did he died he sellout

mesmers death always heavily saddened me, especially after the scene of him trying to connect with his daughter and having it lead to nothing. he was a man with nothing left but he still wanted to live.
And yet he was warned if he tells on them, specifically butcher, he will regret it. He chose to cut ties with his daughter, and chose to meet up with homelander despite no guarantees of any job position.
So, Mesmer's telepathy only functions when touching another person? Superhero duty must have sucked for Mesmer, since he has no way to keep a distance from any enemies he fights due to how his only useful combat-based ability requires him to be close to any target he wants to telepathically "read".
@@Tom-hk2ep Mesmer did mention being a member of the superhero group Teenage Kix. More specifically, Mesmer mentioned that to Homelander. So Mesmer most likely patrolled with Teenage Kix at some point.
all he did was do interrogations though. That's what his show was all about which I think was supposed to be a parody of law and order, but like if it were super boring since you have a kid who can just read everyone's mind.
I just realized that every time Butcher punches Mesmer, he gets a flashback due to Mesmer’s abilities. At first I thought the slow motion was just for appeal lol
Seems the power levels of the supes are a bit inconsistent. They seem to make it apparent that regardless of the powers that each supe gets from V, all of them at least of some level of super strength and durability. Which is why characters with super speed can run through people without getting hurt or how the Termite can explode through people. But here, Mesmer has none of that.
I found it disappointing that he was a regular human. However, in such a universe, outliers like him must exist. There’s no evidence to show that Love Sausage possesses above human strength and durability.
I think it’s made pretty clear in the show that the supes abilities are extremely varied. Like in season 2, lamplighter has his fire abilities, but it’s clear he has no enhanced durabilitie, Becuase he’s just as threatened by a gun as any other human would be. Or star light. She appears to have some enhanced durabilitie and strength, but no where near the level of Maeve or homelander
Maybe Mesmer is physically stronger, I mean he is pretty durable, A normal guy would've gotten knocked out by all those punches but mesmer resisted all of them
Maybe they tweaked the recipe, so it cheaper to make supes, and sprinkle a few with the really good stuff to get supes like A-Train, Starlight, Queen Maeve etc. Mesmer got the B-tier shot lol.
The vomit guy that isn’t even immune to his own deadly vomit . Kimiko just stepped on his stomach. And I don’t think Lamplighter had any super strength he could just control fire but still burn himself to death.
Something that never fails to genuinely make me cringe is the realism of the gore in this show. I’ve seen some terrible shit in real life and this show gets it shockingly close. I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, prop department needs to be at the top of the credits.
I must be alone in this based on the comments but I felt no sympathy for Mesmer in the end. The Boys gave him a second chance with his daughter only for him to immediately sell them out to Homelander in some piss poor attempt to reclaim his past fame and become relevant again. His last words 'Please, I have a daughter!' were especially off-putting because he threw away his second chance to be in her life. To use his child as a lifeline out of desperation after that...cheap. Good riddance to bad rubbish.
nah, I agree with you. I mean I felt bad about the way he died, but I do think Mesmer had it coming. it was messed up for him to go to Homelander and he was warned, so he kinda decided his own fate
@@StazzyP He shot her in the middle of an open field, which is very different from shooting someone in a crowded station with cameras everywhere. Not to mention he'd be almost guaranteed to hit civilians in the process. He might be okay with collateral damage for taking out Homelander, but not for some small-timer like Mesmer.
Knowing Butcher he probably would’ve went in for a stealth kill and got him with a blow dart or came up behind and quietly stabbed him in the neck or something. He’s a crafty bastard.
The show makes it a point to show us that Mesmer’s daughter barely knows or cares about him. That way we feel a little less sympathetic when he uses her as a plea for mercy.

people as lower than him and is developmentally stunted because he’s constantly chasing the love/adoration he’s never felt in his life. honestly if he wasn’t such a powerful psychopath, homelander is more pitiable than butcher to me
Butcher is confirmed to be in the next Kingdom hearts game.
He would want to be a replacement cast for a character that really makes me think it would be his favorite character and also reminds me of it, which is Lingering Will.

Pretty brilliant casting of Haley Joel Osment playing a former child actor in the show too.

@@Qew1601 The actor for Mesmer was the voice actor for Sora in Kingdom Hearts 3.
This has gotta be one of the many great examples of Butcher’s brutal preferences over logical thinking
He’d rather take immediate action than literally anything else, rather it be something complex like using Mesmer as a tool and prisoner to have an advantage over Vought, or something as simple as saying “Not the kid!” As long as he gets his hands dirty, that’s all that matters
Man ... Imagine seeing your own death by a brutal man and then immediately being subjected to such death. I'd have just rather he shot me lmfao. That's such a cold blooded end to Mesmer.
The fact that Butcher showed him what he was gonna do to him...coldblooded
This can also not be the case at the same time. He either could've showed him what he has done to others or completely nothing and it was just him figuring out on his own that he is fucked.
@@brightbeyonddarkness Mesmer can read minds, yes he knew exactly what Butcher was about to do.
@@cameronjosephvideos5942 Yeah, you're right.
I thought Mesmer ability is to see other people's past
@@BrokenSIMGlasses it’s part of his powers
Mesmer should’ve thought very carefully about his choices and honestly I think it was extremely poor Choice for him to backstab the boys like that he was better off not dealing with Home lander especially given to the fact that he was really just a super villain not a hero and he didn’t really care what billy Butcher would’ve done to him anyway if he found out that he betrayed them if he never had betrayed them he would’ve gotten to continue with his life of course he could’ve always go back on the deal he made but betraying them would have cost him his life and he did he died he sellout
Yeah for a guy who pays such close attention to the thoughts of others he clearly doesn’t analyze his own thoroughly enough.
@@epicty3607 yeah what he did was very stupid and it is what cost him his life the best thing he could’ve done was keep his mouth shut and pretended that none of this ever happened but instead he did the opposite and he wound up getting his head smashed in by Billy Butcher, who is a professional killer and I found it amusing that Mesmer was is begging for Mercy when that was useless against Billy Butcher, who was a trained professional killer and he would kill anyone who betrayed him and what was also a very bad choice that he made was that he hid in the bathroom, hoping that Billy Butcher wouldn’t find him, but he did plus since it was in the bathroom and not in public and it’s me Billy Butcher’s job a lot Easier with killing the man who betrayed him and the boys
Butcher/Billy is the kind of guy you don't want to piss off at any given moment, or you're dead.
Butcher kills Sora from KH
Hope nobody comes into that bathroom
Hey you killed Sora now you have to pay with your life
I have to google that hahahaha mainly because i dont play kingdom hearts
Yozora did it first.
mesmers death always heavily saddened me, especially after the scene of him trying to connect with his daughter and having it lead to nothing. he was a man with nothing left but he still wanted to live.
True
And yet he was warned if he tells on them, specifically butcher, he will regret it. He chose to cut ties with his daughter, and chose to meet up with homelander despite no guarantees of any job position.
I can’t believe Billy Butcher killed Sora
Kingdom hearts Sora!?
@@otakuboy1570 yep the actor who plays mesmer is the voice of sora since kingdom hearts 1

mesmer looks like a discord mod
1:20 this show has so much creativity I love it, also idk why I really like the sound effect they used
Superb sound effect!
Mesmir saw Season 2, and Butcher didn’t want it to be spoiled😂
Butcher to Mesmer: “I see dead people.” 😂
William Butcher is savage. 😂
So, Mesmer's telepathy only functions when touching another person? Superhero duty must have sucked for Mesmer, since he has no way to keep a distance from any enemies he fights due to how his only useful combat-based ability requires him to be close to any target he wants to telepathically "read".
Never was on "superhero duty", just was a child TV star using the powers for his own show and done mild detective work later in life
@@Tom-hk2ep Mesmer did mention being a member of the superhero group Teenage Kix. More specifically, Mesmer mentioned that to Homelander. So Mesmer most likely patrolled with Teenage Kix at some point.
John Ivan Taro believe a-train was in the group
all he did was do interrogations though. That's what his show was all about which I think was supposed to be a parody of law and order, but like if it were super boring since you have a kid who can just read everyone's mind.

No way to "unverse" his death, ladies and gentlemen.
I do feel bad for him to an extent.
I’d wager that Billy has killed people over much less.
No matter how fast mesmer runs, butcher can walk faster.
Min 0:18 when Mesmer sees Butcher: "oh oh...I am dead people"😬
Seems the power levels of the supes are a bit inconsistent.
Why "cringe"?
@@exxzane I think it's called "physical cringe" just cringe but without the embarrasment
@@zamn7937 correct

@@zamn7937 Ah yes, the original meaning of the word.
@Marjorie Champion Nah I agree with him.

Butcher: Now you are dead people

Mesmer: "I see dead people."
Butcher: "Because you betrayed us, you're gonna be one of 'em."

Outstanding. That’s what rats get.
He would've been safer if he just stayed out in the open where everyone could see him.
Butcher would of killed him there , he shot starlight a supe in broad daylight before he doesn't care lol
@@KyokujiFGC Bro forgot the club scene
Knowing Butcher he probably would’ve went in for a stealth kill and got him with a blow dart or came up behind and quietly stabbed him in the neck or something. He’s a crafty bastard.
You think butcher would give a fuck if people saw him? 😂
He underestimate butcher lol if he only knew how dangerous butcher is than to homelander, he wouldn’t had sold the boys out.
The shows continously makes it clear that Butcher is no hero he may be the lesser of two evils but he is no hero.
The show makes it a point to show us that Mesmer’s daughter barely knows or cares about him. That way we feel a little less sympathetic when he uses her as a plea for mercy.
What was the point of him begging? He already saw he was gonna die, meaning no matter what he said or did, he would still die
thanks sora

Obviously, he saw that Butcher wants to brutalize him that's why he pleaded with him one last time
@@anitaremenarova6662 Obviously, with this being and on going story there are more things going on that we the audience don't know yet. There could be quite a few flash backs about Butcher that we are not privy to yet. He could of seen something in Butcher's past that was really bad and that's why he killed him not because he told on them.
@@pillow919 I think you're digging too deep here, Butcher wouldn't have held him for so long if he didn't want him to see what he was thinking, he understands perfectly how his powers work. He held him specifically so that he could read from him that he is going to die.
I think the writers left it ambiguous if they ever want to bring back Mesmer as a punching bag again.
He probably saw that Becca was presumed dead, realising he had nothing to offer Butcher now.
Said to myself when I was first watched this scene “why the fuck would you go in the bathroom?!”
LOL, Kairi's gonna smash Billy for killing her boyfriend... so crazy!
