    Legends look good, except the Shif t key (space intended). Not sure why so many non-GMK legends have this extra spacing on the 't' in shift, but it's something I noticed and now I cannot unnotice it. Great vid as always!

    • @anhex.5747
      @anhex.5747 2 года назад +3

      A computer renders the characters by many points, and takes the edges as the points closest to the left or right. Hence, the edges of the horizontal parts of the f and t are the ends of the characters, and as the vertical parts are further away they seem like they have an extra spacing.

    • @tetley3737
      @tetley3737 2 года назад +1

      @@anhex.5747 Thanks for the reply Anhe. I figured that was the case between the f and t with many sets, but GMK (and some other doubleshot manufacturers, including some pbt sets i own) compensate for this and make the spacing look normal/correct. GMK has done this for years. Other manufacturers should do this as well. The spacing just looks wrong.

I heard everything I needed to hear! If anything, I'd love to see comparisons to even more varieties, like the EPBTs you showed, or Domikey.
    I'm glad there's another solid Cherry profile competitor out there. Personally, I'm only into double shot ABS for the colors. In my collection, PBT is my favorite for feel and sound. But overall, the scene is a lot more competitive than it was a year ago, and that's great to see! More options are great for us consumers!

    Interesting, I've seen some others say DCX does not have north facing interference in their testing.

    • @Keybored
      @Keybored  2 года назад +8

      If you use a full 4mm travel switch like the C3 Tangies, they definitely interfere! You can actually feel the cap hit the fat part of the switch pretty prominently. If you use a long pole switch, or a 3.5mm travel switch, they don't allow the cap to go all the way down to the switch top housing, so no interference. The same is said for GMK caps. For example, Gat Box Inks, Oil Kings, etc. do not interfere in north facing with GMK or other similar cherry profile caps!

    I'm super excited that DROP is willing to work with designers to create sets that will be available closer to 4 months rather than 2 years (and will likely be more consistently stocked if DROP's other sets indicate). As these seem to be a very high quality alternative to GMK in a familiar profile, I hope that we will get to see designers utilize it and get official designs/colorways similar to what Cannon Keys has done with NicePBT. Appreciate the thorough review as I was very skeptical about this release, however, this seems like a really good option!

    • @Keybored
      @Keybored  2 года назад +31

      Just comparing to "premium ABS" in this review. I feel the 2 are somewhat different in that they do have different strengths and weaknesses. PBT does have a much higher resilience against shine, but they also do have some issues with spacebar warp, etc. PBT also tends to sound a bit dryer and denser (which might be good also) while ABS (good thick ABS, not cheap stuff) sounds more "glassy." At the end of the day, it's all about preference, and for sure there are both premium ABS and PBT!

    Also in EU there is like a 20% tax on imported goods and import rights which totals to about the same as a gmk set. But at least the turn around time is better.

    Hello! I love all your videos. I had a video suggestion that could use your science brain, I am having trouble with all the types of lubes out there and what they are best used for and why. Could that be something you cover? When I listen to other youtubers they just go with the tried and true method but then seeing stuff like the Gazzew method with his custom lube I am now lost as to what could be the best for certain switches. Anyhow thanks and keep up the good work and have a great day.

    What kind of keyboard are you using here? What is your favorite mechanical keyboard for gaming? I ordered some DCX Camillo key caps and am trying to figure out what keyboard is best overal. rgb would be nice

  • @Poesjuh

    Perhaps redo this video but with a keyboard that's not build with PE foam? While there is some noticable difference in the soundtest between the two, all I hear is pe foam. Would be worth to hear some difference in for example a more classic top mounted board that's not stuffed to the brink.

      Huge downside to anything Signature Plastics is they are packaged in a ziploc bag...like the kind you put sandwiches in. They jumble around in shipping and the keycaps tend to scratch and mar each other before they even get to you. I'll never buy another Signature Plastics product again unless they change this (they wont)

    the reason it sits higher is because with the deeper scoop, the stem of the cap is lower, this is how they achieve no north facing conflict.

    • @Keybored
      @Keybored  2 года назад

      But it has north facing interference haha. With the tangies and aquakings, Def feel some annoying interference for sure
