    I dipped into the previous videos I am reminded why plug and play solutions are so appealing.

    Thanks for the detail on the buffer setup and testing 🙂 I didn't know that you could do remapping of the filaments in the user interface, that's very nice. I finished the MMU3 yesterday, not including unpacking it took about six hours with being careful and crosschecks. I changed the wire routing to be better and used 3M wire tie mounts in a way that removes all the repetitive wire stress on the stepper motors. I should really post a short video on that, you have inspired me to do such.
    Thanks again for taking the time to video and edit your build, it was helpful to me and I'm sure to many others. I look forward to your future videos!

      @@tada3dprinting It was pretty quick as I skipped over the buffer and reel holder steps. I wanted to get the MMU3 built, integrated to the printer first to make sure they were talking to each other. I did take my time and crosschecked everything.
      Today I’ll build the buffer and get the tubes all sorted out, the mundane part of the build which will surely add more time to be considered a full build.

      Yeah I'm surprised they don't leave those parts until the end. The spoolholder and buffer could easily be after you set the MMU3 in place. I printed the sheep and then another print and they did good. Thanks!

    Wow, that is quite a process to load the filaments. I can imagine putting your most common five colors in and just leaving them there. Looks like it did a good job. I hope that it works as well with your models. Looking forward to seeing some more of those.

      Really, is this the simplest design Prusa could come up with ?

      There is an accessory on printables to load the buffer without removing the cassette. This makes things much easier.
      Or, like me, you can do it without the buffer.

      @@oldjedsOn the other hand, it changes color quickly and with much less waste.
      That's the advantage. In my opinion, this more than compensates for the slightly poorer handling.

      @oldjeds I agree. There are more compact designs out there. Idk why Pruda hasn't integrated something else yet. It feel like the same layout from MMU OG.

    Woo!
    Mine arrives tomorrow. Just got the spool I ordered with it.
    (I guess they got separated last minute when they arrive in my state. Otherwise I would've had it right now xD)

    spool hangers are much easier then using the included stands.
    Maybe check the tension on the rollers if you are having issues feeding the MMU.

    13:50 Can you share the source to the tool box sitting on the PSU?

      @tada3dprinting  2 месяца назад +1

      I modded a tool box I had downloaded and used for the MK3. The MK4 has a larger frame so I adjusted it to fit. I have not been able to find the original source of the MK3 file. I just uploaded to Printables for you just now. Let me know if you find the original so I can link. Thanks!

    Having watched a few videos from this series now, there is no way the MMU3 is a worthwhile system if you consider labour costs. Assembling this thing and feeding it both seem so laborious. Even if someone rates themselves at minimum wage, it tacks so much more onto the cost, but more than that just the extra hassle you shouldnt be having on a modern printer.

    • @tada3dprinting
      @tada3dprinting  2 месяца назад +1

      Yes I would think Prusa would at least offer an option of this more assembled. Thanks!
