This looks great! I live in the US and saw some video that had someone trashed and eating a "spice bag" It looked good because I like peppers and spicy food. So then I was looking into how to make it. THANKS!! I would probably make it before going out and put it in my toaster oven to re-heat. Because that has a shut off timer in case I pass out! LOL

    Drunken night walker food...🤣
Need this in the UK, as the Germans have tried to muscle in on the Kabab stakes (In Berlin a family came out from the kitchen in their kebab shop when I asked about a shish, I was a British hero for 5 minutes as they don't serve them normally, with the Donor being the norm. I have not been a hero before or since unsurprisingly. )
Put every Irish Spice bag in a Tricolour styled bag with ISB in a suitable font and get it over here for us night walkers across the Irish Sea, and make a well deserved fortune!

You only cook the spices for as long as it takes to toss the food? (less than 10 seconds). Most of it would still be raw.
I would stir the spices into heated oil in the pan so they are already evenly cooking before adding the chips, chicken then veg.
I never knew this was Irish, but I have been cooking this for dinners for years using meat, diced veg and spice mix from packets (chicken shawarma and Korean bbq are good) or just improvise with whatever I fancy on the night.

      Thanks for the feedback.
I prepared the spices as intended for an authentic spice bag. Cooking them might deepen flavors, but it's not true to the original recipe. Having said that I think I will take your idea and give it a bash next time.

      @@PotOfPlenty Hope you like it.😃
Perhaps I should have stressed don't burn the spices - only heat them through for a few seconds to open up the flavours. It's just that by sprinkling dry spices over the ingredients then tossing them, a lot of the spices are not going to even touch the hot pan.✌

@mimikurtz2162 I hear ya, a lot of 'boring' stuff gets edited out, people have the attention span of a goldfish, so a lot of footage ends up on the floor. I'd love to leave more stuff in but the yt studio watch retention metrics tell me the channel will die if I don't keep the pace up.

Hi Dave, after a bit of a chat GPT interrogation it seems like this is the main difference:
Spice Blend: While both dishes utilize salt and pepper, the Irish spice bag often includes a wider variety of spices, offering a different flavor profile that includes more heat from chili powder and other spices.

Excellent video! I was just wondering what exact chili powder (e.g. brand) you use? In the U.S., "chili powder" is a mixture of spices, typically used in Tex-Mex cooking. In Ireland, I would imagine chili powder contains only one ingredient...a specific ground chili pepper.
