Ayam Cemani do not lay black eggs. They lay perfectly white eggs. So perfect it looks like someone bleached them. I have never seen a black egg. The closest thing you'll get to black eggs are Emu eggs. I have bird zoo on my farm, so I know what I'm talking about.

I have these Ayam Cemani chickens and they do not lay black eggs and I have never seen a white one they are tan to light brown
they are actually a very light cream color and there actually is a duck that lays black eggs or grey eggs.

The black egg looks cool
it's actually an emu egg, cemanis, or any chicken breed, don't lay black eggs- it's not possible. cemanis lay a pretty pink creamish color though!
First one looks awesome.
Fun fact, their meat is black colored too. And even the blood is darker than normal chicken's.
And they were mostly used in supernatural ritual as offering. Such a waste for expensive and delicious meat 😑

This is an interesting video. It also reminds me of the Dr. Seuss book "Scrambled Eggs Super" in which the main character criticizes the tendency of people to eat only chickens eggs which is a "dumb thing to do" because there are so many other kinds of eggs according to this character. He goes around the world looking for other eggs--one bird lays an egg three times the size of the bird, another bird has such long legs that the eggs usually break when they fall, etc.

they are around $2,000, though cheaper all black species do exist! they don't lay black eggs though, that's a common myth (the video showed the egg of an emu) there is no such thing as a black chicken egg.

cemanis don't lay black eggs sadly! the video showed emu eggs. it's a common myth that these chickens lay black eggs used to jack the price way up on these already expensive birds. cemanis lay a pink-cream color egg.

I live in WV in the states. When I was about 10 an emu escaped from a local emu farm. There is nothing funnier than watching several grown men running around trying to corral a giant flightless bird.

if you put a pillowcase on the emus head they stand still since they can't see and instantly calm down. chasing them too much can cause a stress induced heart attack in the birds.
We have a quail. She lays white eggs because she is a different breed than they are talking about. And because she is weird she laid a egg yesterday and the day before. Probably did because we have her inside our living room right now. (We were raising more. But we let them all go but her. She is disabled and the best egg layer out of them all.)

I would actually like to get the eggs for crafts. If I tried to eat them it would be blown out through a hole so scrambled would be the way to eat them. I am a big fan of the yolk, so the large yolk eggs impressed me most for eating but all impressed me for crafts. I would love to find a market just for eggs.

i think that eggs are a bit pungent in smell and flavor so i will stick to the occasional chicken egg, pheasant or turkey but not the others.

Ayam Cemani eggs are not black. Ever. They are cream colored to light pink. The eggs taste exactly the same as any other chicken egg, but they are usually not eaten due to their rarity. I have several friends who breed and raise these birds.
Cayuga ducks can and do lay eggs that range in color from white to completely black. Gray egg color is the most common for this breed. Color of the eggs can also depend on the age of the bird.
