      Thank you so much for this comment Sub-Jec-Tiv . This library is a pure joy to work with - and it all goes back to the initial sessions, which were joyous and bubbly. It felt electric and through all the stages of development this energy has been preserved. Its like an artisan that carefully chooses what wood to use - what tools to use to shape the wood - then shaping the wood into an instrument. Delicately carving ornaments to both inspire and improve the sound. Love in all stages of development. It shows in the end. Cheers, T

    DISCO STRINGS trigger so much for me that it hardly fits a YT comment:
    I am happy to be incarnated at the right time! [Born 1959] So as a boy I was able to experience the inventions of the music styles of the 70s [Hippie, Psychedelic, Rock, Progressive Rock, Funk, Fusion, Jazzrock, Disco, Soul etc.] Also my first sex 😅 was with disco music (or was it music/albums of Alan Parsons?).
    And now I still live to be able to experience the new DISCO revolution in sampling, music production, right up to spatial audio, especially through your fantastic, human and emotional developments: SOUNDPAINT just in the best sense of the word!
    🙏🏻 Thank you for your commitment, enthusiasm and love for music !
    This is both: universal - timeless, as well as innovative and new!

      Thanks Eric! I agree that my needs for Studio Violins is finally covered. To me its all about having energy and realism in studio strings, something which often feels a bit more flat and crumbling with previous generations of libraries. We spent a great amount of time/resources/recording time on ensuring we really got that life in the samples - and that they are fully and rewardingly playable. Tawnia and I did discuss the price and we know we could've charged more. But Soundpaint to us is the democratization of samples. We want everyone being able to have the best possible tools for the most affordable price - and that is our long term strategy and loving goal with Soundpaint. Thanks for noticing it and supporting us. Much love, Troels

    THIS IS GREAT!!
    I just noticed that this "Disco" library will be AWESOME for 'ostinato' in many instances. Orchestral purists may have something to say about that (something about some articulation, here/there etc.). But for most musical purposes, Soundpaint's round robins will make things way more musical (expressivity) than some of the best string ostinato libraries I own (because I can PLAY those figures exactly as I feel them). If nothing else, "Disco Strings" will layer nicely with other string libraries (especially with the flexibility of Soundpaint at one's fingertips!! 🙂❤

    • @Soundpaintmusic
      @Soundpaintmusic  4 месяца назад +1

      Yeah. I feel one of the unique highlights of this library is its ability to recreate truly realistic sounding ostinatos, runs and essentially cover those acrobatic styles of fast writing. Traditional sample libraries tend to be better at softer/slower style of writing, but I found we had to develop both new sampling/recording techniques and build new technologies around them to really facilitate these faster styles of writing. Cheers, Troels

  • @frankweber356

    Very well done. A divisi option when playing chords would be perfect, and more dynymic range. I can understand the energy argument, but it´s very important to have this.

    • @GoOKuSj33
      @GoOKuSj33 Месяц назад

      How many strings do you need in a disco arrangement? To fully take advantage of divisi, the group cannot be so small, if you have 4 violins in 2 groups, that's gonna sound not so good, because the minimum players to not have intonation problems is 3. I think divisi would only properly work in a orchestral setting, 10 violins or up, btw it's not so important as you think in the sample world, because it can create phasing issues, and you can just layer other libraries if you need more definition, not that I think you'd need with this one, as it's already pretty dry. Dynamic layers on the other hand are very important, but lets be honest, how forte do you need to play in this kind of music when every instrument is miked?

    Great tone, would this be suitable for rock and Indie film scoring as well? 😜

    • @Soundpaintmusic
      @Soundpaintmusic  Месяц назад +1

      Great question. The answer is ABSOLUTELY YES. This library might as well be called Studio Strings, but we really went deep on the rhythmic and disco oriented aspects, which we feel haven't been extensively covered in sampling. It is perfect for song writing and indie - very much "that sound" - especially cause we really wanted to preserve the emotional energy of the performance, which one can feel through the entire library - even down to shortest of notes. Its alive.

      All legatos are supported by text and tips - telling you how many legato note intervals are covered for a given program and legato. Some have a wider range than others depending on their intended usage.

    "Soul Makossa" at the origin of disco??? It's a static James Brown style funk. What a joke. All the elements of Disco were built in the Philadelphia Soul lab and with Barry White.

    Please do not compare Disco with the pathetic genres of House, EDM, Rap and Techno who trample everything Disco is about: counterpoint, chord changes, sophistication, compound rhythms, melody, generosity of orchestration and real instruments.
