I dont think apple will change their design to this for two reasons: first of all, spatial video won't work anymore in landscape and second of all, iPhones are known for their iconic pro camera system layout and apple would loose their recognition with that
Let them keep it. Im tired of it now. Let just accept phone have reached a certain point now and stop making them until we get the technology to put the camera under the screen and work smoothly without issues. Focus on software.
The only significant upgrades that there should be is minimum 90 Hz and always on display on the base models and the rest are inconsequential and I could care less if they happen or not
For Hardware simple. 1. Even bigger battery especially for the smaller ver and faster charging. 2. Bigger sensors for the cameras. 3. Even better sustain performance.
I think we take these phones too seriously. I don't care who's copying who. If I like the phone I'm buying it. I don't care what brand it is. I have iPhone, Samsung, Microsoft Surface Duo 2, Oneplus, and LG. I just like tech. There is no side picking here.
Unless: 1. Somehow, Apple was able to make Spatial Video recording with horizontally mounted cameras 2. Apple wants you to record spatial video in portrait
I guess they could tell the cameras to record in horizontal even if holding in portrait? Also wondering what this means for camera control which is positioned best for horizontal holding
0:32 this design is completely false. Spatial video has to be recorded horizontally which requires the wide and ultrawide cameras to be positioned vertically on the phone
On the new phones, you’ll film vertically. That’s all. Spatial videos aspect ratio is 1:1 anyway, so you won’t even know the difference when watching it back!
@@thereo420 I don’t think they’ll do it but it makes sense cause of how similar the pros and regulars felt this year, especially if they give the whole line up 120hz
If the exterior redesign actually looks like that then I love it. I like the current design but think this redesign looks much cleaner. Really looking forward to the 17 lineup and how it turns out. I have a 13 pro and so far from what I have seen/heard I have been happy with my decision to hold out and not upgrade to the 16.
If the new camera arrangement is indeed true, it suggests that Apple might have incorporated an automatic horizontal recording feature for capturing spatial video. However, this feature could potentially negate the purpose of the recently introduced camera capture button.
I guess we're gonna now do what your android fanboys have been doing when android copies iPhone: Lie and Deny. "No no it didn't copy, iPhone had this design for years now. Android just caught up" Also, isn't Google Pixel 9 like 95% copied design from iPhone?
@@glorious240fps6isn't most of iphone features and including of telephoto and wide angle lens and bezeless display , 120 hertz refresh rate are all copy from Android
@@scorpiooctagen1844 No. Iterative updates are not copy. It's like saying desktop chipsets copied mobile chipsets because mobile phones had higher core count before desktop. Copy is only applied for non-iterative updates, like a phone's body design, having no headphone jack, removing charger from the box, using identical UI elements, etc. Going from 60hz to 120hz isn't a copy. It was always meant to be. But going from "having a charger in the box" to "having no charger" wasn't supposed to happen.
I think the iPhone 17 Pro models go to this new design for another reason: freeing up internal space to accommodate a true 10x periscope telephoto lens system with 48 megapixel resolution.
The visor layout is more practical in the sense hand and finger placement. Drives me up a wall when I wipe my lenses to snap a photo and my fingers smudge it again right after. Now your fingies can rest below it. As far the fitment goes for the radios and crap stuffed up there. This would be a way better looking and symmetrical design.

Apple should make all upcoming phones have metal backs but make only the MagSafe area glass. I’m sure they could easily find color pallets where the glass and metal are almost indistinguishable from each other.
Never to early to talk about future iphones. I sure i wont upgrade until the iphone 18 series of phones so if you have any info on them then id love to hear it.
Interesting 🤨 with the new camera layout will we only be able to take spacial photos and video in portrait orientation? Or where we lied to before. Was curious to understand why the orientation was so important for spacial photography when the only real need is two cameras placed certain distance apart. The orientation should not really matter.
What about spatial video , how will it work without vertical camera's, they changed iphone 15's Cross Camera design to vertical in iphone 16 for Spatial video feature for Vision Pro.
It looks extremely bad. If they end up with that design, it’s going to be the worst design ever. They are trying to be the Pixel but they can’t copy it exactly. Also, spatial video would be impossible with that camera layout, so I feel that these rumors are completely off
hahahaha Andrew Garfield, this indeed looks a bit like a... pixel xD the 5 made kidna sense, but I think it's a bit a harder as well because of the scale of those sensor now ^^
They removed the rounded edges to make more space inside the phone, the only thing that rounded edges were better in was comfortability. Besides the 16 models have contour edges

I never warmed to the iPhone 5 design which is why I got the 5C the next year and gave the 5 to my wife.

I think it would be cool if they could do metal unibody like iPhone 6 with a circular glass cutout for wireless coils. Repairability would suffer tho
