Phineas and Ferb is a classic cartoon from the early 2000's through the 2010's and has a place in our heart during all of our childhoods. We at Spilling The Milik decided to ask the question "Does Phineas and Ferb still hold up?" by reacting to some of the most funny and iconic meme centric episodes to see if we like it as adults. Watching the early episodes of squirrels in my pants, ain't got rhythm, getting busted and Doctor Doofensmirtz being crazy with Perry the platypus. With iconic music and everything To the finale of the series 10 years later, here is our reaction to Phineas and Ferb.

There’s an episode where Venessa asks Ferb what Ferb is short for, but before he could answer, the plot moved forward and it’s only ever revisited in the adult episode.
When Venessa drives up to their house to pick Ferb up, she says, “Hey Ferbs”.
And that is canonically what Ferb is short for.
Before I realized this, I thought his name was Ferbius or something. No.

The episode where Phineas and Ferb had to go to a reformatory camp is honestly still a pretty dark episode when you think about it. But surprisingly, the show overall still holds up!

I am convinced that a way to distinguish a true PnF fan from a part time watcher is by asking their opinion on Ferb. Anyone who regularly watches knows he is the man. Honestly, I think he's the coolest character. He doesn't have to say much, but he is a great friend, brother, and inventor, genius second only to Baljeet (thinking about that time when his calculations got sent to Baljeet for a peer review), amazing singer with incredible range, plays a bunch of instruments, dancer who can do things most humans can't 😂etc.

Phineas and Ferb is one of those shows where you SHOULDN'T skip ahead to the "specials" because nothing will make sense and they only are "special" because they deviate from the show's usual formula.

I binged this show on Netflix like 10 years ago with my little brother. I was in college at the time. It was a good time.
Loved watching it on there before Disney+ happened.
I was so sad when it left Netflix and at that time I did not even know what Disney+ was so I thought it was gone forever.
Ah good times. And since I didn’t know anything about Disney+ other than…well that Disney wanted to make a streaming service, it really felt like piracy was the best option if you didn’t have cable.

This show is honestly still one of my favorites to this day. It appeals perfectly to the part of my humor that’s just complete nonsense humor and it hecking hilarious
First of all, as many are saying, yes yes it does! And secondly why is that even a question? Next to other Disney shows like Gravity Falls, Phineas and Ferb is always great! I’m glad Dan Povenmire (Doofenshmirtz VA and show’s co creator) appeals to his fans on his RUclips channel and TikTok. Also, now that you’re rewatching it, I highly recommend either an episode where Phineas gets mad (a rarity), a Perry-centric episode, or with October on the way, Night of the Living Pharmacists.

I only just realised Squirrels In My Pants spells simp - they are literally calling Candace a simp whilst she’s being tortured by squirrels! Poor Candace!
As a kid I found Candace annoying but as I grew up I found her really relatable

So I went to the panel for Dan (co creator and voice of Doof) new Disney show Hampster and GRETLE at comic con 2022. He was asked about the music specifically the SQUIRRELS IN MY PANTS song and how he comes up with stuff like that. He replied that he doesn’t write every song alone but they know what is going to happen in the episode first then simply take what the episode is about and kinda reverse engineer the songs from there!

What's funny about 6:10/6:11 in the video is that they're not far off, in SpongeBob, Mr Krabs' actual voice actor is the same as the reformatory commander dude in this P & F episode, voice actor veteran actor Clancy Brown (he is the main antagonist of Dexter Morgan in Dexter: New Blood among many other roles). *Argh argh argh argh argh*
You can also kind of infer that the character that Brown voices is a parody or caricature of Lee Ermey's role in Stanley Kubrick's Full Metal Jacket (not Metal Alchemist), Gunnery Sgt. Hartman the vindictive, brutal and sadistic dictator and antagonist and in contrast to Private Pyle's (D'Onofrio) portly and abused character as he strips away and belittles Pyle into committing an act of terror and loss of sanity in the bathroom as well.
Wasn't expecting the native representation in the intro. Even if it was residential school related. WOO, NATIVE PRIDE.

I believe, when I saw my first episode of Phineas and Ferb, the show was already essentially over with and they were running a several-day marathon leading up to one of the movies.
If it's when I think it was, I was about 34 at the time. I thought it had a lot of clever jokes, and plenty of them aimed at adults. It was a good time, I enjoyed it.
Oh, and their Star Wars movie is one of if not THE best thing Disney has done with Star Wars. It was probably the last good thing done with the property before they turned it to complete shit, with Rogue One being a brief light in the darkness (I haven't seen the 'new' Clone Wars stuff, so I can't comment on that).
