I once had a nightmare where I got into an argument with Mr.Nebbercracker over God knows what and I tried to have the last word in the argument, shouting "I hope you get crucified!". Nebbercracker spun around and in a fit of rage, doused my left hand in gasoline and set it on fire with a welding torch.
Fun fact: the early concepts for this movie were FAR more disturbing than anything that the final product had. The house would have had giant, real human organs, people would have legitimately died horrible deaths, the list really goes on.
It was definitely way more disturbing, but the original concept art was also weirdly gorgeous! It's like if Nornan Rockwell shopped at Hot Topic and was inspired by horror movies. ^^

Happy Halloween Milkers! 🎃👻🍬 I saw this movie in theaters as was absolutely scared of the monster house! The animation hasn't aged well but still good for a 2005 film!
One of my favorite movies to watch back when I was younger on Cartoon Network for their movie segments. Was the best kid crap to just go get myself and snack and sit in front of the TV.
Why is the snack scene so memorable? I think it comes down to two things: 1) The execution and 2) The uncanny animation, but most of it from the former. 1) What would the alternatives to the scene be? Skull stood there, snatched up the chocolate bar, and ate it before leaving. He just ran straight out of the building. He ran out of the building, but then came back in to take the chocolate. Because he's got a slower, lumbering movement, the second one wouldn't really work, it would feel like there was just a filler scene. The last one would drag the scene too long. The first one might still work, but the lumbering movement and that lurch of realization add to the characterization without dragging the scene out. 2) The uncanny animation. Some aspects haven't aged well, but this movie still has a unique stylization to it and I think what we got contributes to this scene. He's technically eating chocolate, and with his mouth open too, so the sound should be softer and moister/stickier - but the sound design went for "loud and crunchy". Also, thanks to the darker lighting, we don't get to really see the chocolate in his mouth, so it doesn't try to go for a "gross out" comedy moment. The fact that he grabs roughly a 'handful' of the chocolate, stuffs it in his mouth, but finishes it in about four bites. Finally, he's been talking to the kids about haunted/possessed items and about death... if it was just about "haha fat guy funny eat" humor, he'd be smiling or have an 'mmmm!' moment while eating and it wouldn't really matter what the rest of his face was doing. But he doesn't smile and stares the kid down while eating, like he's trying to add to the intimidation on top of all the macabre discussion. It doesn't really intimidate... but that's what makes it funny.
Since you guys watched the Boondocks, I'll be actually interested in you watching another controversial cartoon that came out around the same time, which is Drawn Together. Haven't really watched it myself, only seen some clips and bits, but out of what I've seen this is definitely something you will give a fun reaction to. Although I'm not exactly sure if Twitch would allow it or not, because of alot of risky stuff in it, so if you would consider it, don't say i didn't warn you.
