      They are correct. If he’s actually living on 1300 a month buying fast food and coffee. He needs a second job to sustain that or he will be litteraly homeless in a month. Idk how he is already. Telling someone to get a second job when they are hard working doing school or something and saving every penny would be rude and out of touch. Therefore It’s not representative of a real minimum wage worker. Making 1300 a month you can’t live anywhere in the US other than shelters and government housing. Maybe stop eating like a filthy slob and buy real food? $200 a week on groceries is INSANE. 1lb of hamburger meat and some expensive buns are around $16 from sprouts, that makes 4 burgers. That’s 4 burgers a day for $540 a month, and already more food than you need. Get a 30lb bag of rice for $20 and that will feed you for a month. If you are currently struggling hard and can’t make $300/mo on groceries work then you need to seriously reconsider your “relationship” with food and get your priorities straight. Budgeting is not taught enough, but it’s one of the most important things to understand. $100 in fast food isn’t even enough for 4 days of full meals.

People need something to enjoy in their free time to make life worth living. You can't expect to go to work and then come home to just stare at the walls. It's actually pretty easy. Most gas stations and a lot of restaurants now pay above minimum wage. And there are plenty of warehouse jobs making more than that. Amazon is almost always hireing.
      Once you get a little time in a warehouse, apply for a manufacturing Job. Food, and medical supplies will allways be needed. So there are jobs in those sectors.
      The key is not to improve over nigth, but to do so slowly over a few years. Improving your position little by little as you move up the economic latter.

    • @kathrynmatteotti5111

      @@TurtleDude05I think his point was even if you yourself get a better job someone still needs to work the lower paying job in order for society to function. So there is always going to be a person who is not making enough money and that is the problem.
      People have not been accepting lower paying jobs in my area and all I hear all day is how no one wants to work and that no one can find anyone to apply, but it is because they are offering too low of a wage and everyone is chosing higher paying jobs or just moving somewhere cheaper. I wonder how long things can last like this.

    • @wojtek9675
      @wojtek9675 Год назад +2

      There will always be workers to work the minimum wage jobs. The literal point of minimum wage jobs is to get basic experience working a job so you can apply for better jobs.
      A big problem people have is they just expect to everything even though they have absolutely zero labor value

    • @kathrynmatteotti5111
      @kathrynmatteotti5111 Год назад +1

      @@wojtek9675 the problem is that the large majority of jobs even ones that require college or experience are at minimum wage or only $1-2 more which is not enough. I know at least one nurse who has to live out of her car because in order to rent you need to make 3x the amount of rent and she does not make enough. She went to school and has skills just to get a job that can't cover the basics, and unfortunately still makes too much for social assistance programs.
      Now I get it I was able to find a way better paying job but it shouldn't be a luck game. I believe I was only able to do it because I have no kids and I had no bills at the time so I could keep job hopping to something better every 6months to a year for awhile. If someone needs to fill those rolls there will always be someone stuck in them, and since they are a large portion of the jobs available it's not just going to be unskilled or new workers.
      For example we have a serving staff shortage in my area and everyone is complaining no one wants to work, well they want to work just not for minimum or less than minimum wage. Workers are starting to realize their value and it is causing an employee shortage in these minimum wage jobs. We don't have enough young kids out there to fill them so something eventually has to give. Maybe robots who knows.

    It’s like these people with money believe if you don’t have money you simply do not deserve to enjoy simple pleasures. Yea, eating out can be expensive, but so are groceries. Even if you don’t have a ton of money, you deserve to be happy and experience life. And as many people have pointed out, it doesn’t seem as though these millionaires started from nothing…

      That's just... not true. The amount of money you make limits the amount you can save and extends or shortens the amount of time you need to actively be saving money. Class disparity is also a systemic issue so let's not blame poor people for wanting at least some materialistic joy
