      Jayden Daniels IS the only correct answer... there is NO debate for anyone else. Don't blame Jayden for Florida State getting screwed out of playoffs if you are anti SEC... that kid worked hard to achieve everything he did this year and had a historic season in so many ways. Never had a single "bad" game this year and had a fantastic character and toughness against one of the hardest schedules.

      This is such a dumb argument because Daniels did too.. Just look at his film against Missouri, Ole Miss, Bama, & Texas A&M if you don't think so. I would say FSU too but his WR had a big drop on 3rd down & he had an int on a play where Nabers slipped on his route.. In that same game, his defense also NEVER got a stop in the 2nd half. His defense gave up a game winning td against Ole Miss when he had 500+ yards & 5 td's as well..

    Good breakdown. I think it's clear Daniels will win because of his sick numbers, but Penix has had quite a year. He's just different. ALWAYS clutch. Always. It's been a thrill watching him this year. I think UW rolls in the semi this year but the final will be tight. UW and Penix have found a way to win ALL year and shouldn't be counted out in the play-off.

    • @colinoboyle5866
      @colinoboyle5866 10 месяцев назад +8

      @@gavinboggs5787 Penix makes the big boy throws tho. Deep balls are not as high percentage as checkdowns, they're riskier, but he attempts them way more often than someone like Nix, so his lower QBR and efficiency shouldn't be looked down upon. 1/3 of all of nix's passes have been thrown to someone at or behind the line of scrimmage. Bo Nix is bottom ten (out of 130+) in avg. depth of target (6.4 yards) while Micheal Penix is top ten (hovering between 10-12 yards all year). Also 65% of Nix's yards have come after the catch. Obviously throwing screens are a part of every QB's game but especially Nix and he's throwing to one of the best slot receivers/receiving running back rooms in the PAC-12 (Tez Johnson, Irving, Jordan James). He's a great QB and he does what he's supposed to in his system but I just don't see how his better numbers make him more impressive than Penix.
      Just look at the PAc12 championship game. Nix threw for 3TDs while Penix threw for 1TD, but most people who watched the game instead of just looking at the stats will agree that Penix was more impressive in that game, regardless of who won or lost.

    • @rdmcabee
      @rdmcabee 10 месяцев назад

      Penix could easily have more touchdown throws, but UW has a great O line and running back so from the 5 and under they simply run it in. Other teams are padding their heisman stats by throwing td's from the 2 yard line or having their QB run it in from outside of the pocket while threatening pass.

    If Penix played the entire season as well as he did in the first half of the season, then I think he'd be the obvious choice, but he had a few games in the second half of the season where he didn't look great. Jayden Daniels and his team have three losses, but he has been consistently great over the entire season. I think on that basis we're gonna get Daniels as the Heisman winner. Hate to say it as a husky fan, but the only argument for Penix over Daniels is the win/loss record, which isn't a terribly convincing case.

      At the end of the day Daniels is only one player. Daniels played out of his mind every single game, but this is a team sport and LSU’s defense is much worse than Washingtons. Unlike Penix, Daniels didn’t have a single bad game all season. A qb that couldn’t score a single td against ASU shouldn’t even be in the heisman conversation.

      A “terrible” teams are standford, Michigan state, and etc. not ole miss, Alabama, and Florida state.
      Another example that Daniels couldn’t be stopped- Texas A&M was one of the better defenses in the country (I understand that your view of wins and losses dictate your take on a team, but your view is wrong) Daniels- 235 yards passing 4TD and 120 rushing.
      Your argument is invalid. Moving on.

    I admire your attempt to paint some sort of equivalence here, but we're talking about college football where the ability to extend drives by running the football is so valuable.... and we both know who wins in that category hands down. As for wins and losses... Daniels played in the much more difficult SEC, and with an historically bad defense. Washington without Penix would have probably lost twice, LSU without Daniels would have lost seven games. This should be landslide vote: Daniels is the best and most deserving.

I think the argument here is that he has been so clutch and if you look at actual plays he has made when the game was on the line, rather than the numbers for the whole season, he had a more impressive resume. Can think of multiple clutch, Heisman-type moments for Penix. When I think of Jayden Daniels I just think of his incomplete pass to the endzone during what could have been the game-winning drive against ole-miss, and also his stat-padding against Georgia state and throwing deep TDs over and over again to Naber when their already up 40 points in the 4th quarter. Daniels played against a weaker schedule and fewer FBS teams. He also passed his stats against the cupcakes as he played entire games when his team was up.
    Penix balled out against better teams and defenses. Won every big game. He should win it.
    Daniels will win it. Southern voters will once again be shady and likely completely leave Penix off their ballots to rig it again for the southern players (see McCaffrey-Henry)

      I’d argue that LSU had the harder schedule, they played against Bama (#4), FSU (#5), Mizzou (#9) and Ole Miss (#11) and Daniels still balled out in all of those games.
      Penix did phenomenal and won when he had too, but also almost shat the bed against an awful ASU and Washington state.

      The SEC is the strongest conference. There is no comparison to a SEC schedule.

      LSU SoS 18; Wash SoS 32
      Number of top 20 defenses faced - LSU 3; Wash 1
      Number of top 50 defenses faced - LSU 7; Wash 3
      Get out of here with your weaker schedule garbage.
      Daniels did everything in his power to win every game. The difference is Wash has a defense. So you are holding it against Daniels that he doesn't play defense. Got it.

      Yeah Penix really balled out against 3-9 ASU with his 0 td 2 int game leading his team to three 3 whole fg and had to be bailed out by his defense with a long int return late in the game.

    Another Southern Pageant Show.. stats vs. Winning big games.. he ran all those yards for nothing but the possibility to get hurt. Penix has had season ending injuries and come back. That is just as interesting as a rushing QB that has to run to win... how many rushing yards did Peyton Manning have?
