About Simple Little Life:
This channel has sort of turned (inadvertently) into a knife making channel. But the original idea behind what we wanted it to be is this description below:
Videos on our journey to homesteading. With a recent purchase of a little piece of the Alberta prairie, we're looking to sell our nice suburban home in search of a more meaningful life beyond chasing the "American dream" working for some big company and making someone else rich. It's not about the money, it's about getting the most value from the work I do to improving the life of my family.
Some preparedness, DIY, building quality things with your hands, guns, gear, and outdoor exploration.
I've put up 10 of these blades for pre-order on my website. If you're interested check them out here: homesteadknives.com/products/last-ditch-necker
Simple Little Life How many blades are left to pre-order?
When will more stocks be up. It's currently out of stock
How much?

Great video - you found a new subscriber. Any chance you would offer this knife again for order? above link no worky.
The acid etch and stone wash came out really well.

Am I the only one who finds knife making videos relaxing or just mellows you out?
nope:)
Ahad Imran ikr
Ahad Imran it's so satisfying
Ahad Imran i have same ...sooo relaxing !!!! Realy wish to make one in future :)
Nope same here bro
So one of the things that I really enjoy about your channel is the dialogue. I subscribe to a few knife making channels and alot of times its just silence other than the tools running. When I watch your videos it's almost like watching a documentary, please keep it up.
Thank you very much. I really appreciate that! Cheers!
this is one of the first knife making videos that got me into knife making
I really liked this project. Lots of good info and information about your techniques without the video being too long or short.
Thanks!
Kevin Youngblut info and information are the same thing
Info in general and information about the techniques in specific. Sorry.
And don't forget to end your sentences with a period.
Kevin Youngblut Touché.
I have to say that I normally do not like it when one speaks throughout the video but your voice made me feel relaxed while you made that look so darn easy. Niccce!!!
Thank you very much!
I was telling my wife how much I liked this video and how humble you are, and sure as shoot there it is "stay humble" on your fingers! Out standing! Love it!
Hahahaha! It’s a reminder I need all the time. 😆 non-stop! Thank you for the encouraging comment! 🙏👍
@@Simplelittlelife 10-4 buddy! Keep doin what you're doin! Good stuff!
I love mine I cannot express how awesome this little knife is to have around your neck! Thanks, Jaremy!
solid little build there, like watching the process
Beautiful little neck knife. I love the acid stone wash. It gives it a nice worn feel. Paired with a nice cognac colored leather sheath... perfect.
Great video. Thoughtfully narrated. Like hearing the tips for each stage of the process.
what a great video.. this will help a lot.. thank you
Woo really love this knife ! Great job 👌🏼
Thank you
Love the look of this little knive
this knife is so useful for fishing

Great video and great little knife, my friend! That acid and stone wash turned out really awesome. I really like your creative ideas, I keep wanting to try everything you do! ...Nathan
+NuManXplore thanks Nathan. I've wanted to try a acid wash for some time and now I think I'm going to be doing it a lot more. :)
I own one of these and I love it!!! Perfect little EDC blade.
Thanks buddy! 👊🙏👍
Very nice! I would definitely buy one ☝️ if you sold them
Thanks! I am going to make some more and list them as they become available at homesteadknives.com Cheers!
put me on the list I will buy one as well.
how much money do you want for such a knife?
HebaBeats 105$ fucking crazy
Wow. Just wow. What an amazing result, beautiful knife!
thank you very much! I appreciate that!
"Kinda just eyeballing where those holes should go".... I just heard every engineer on Earth curse you. lol ! cool project though, good job
Two days earlier I paused the video, I went down to my "workshop" and I make a mini knife out of a leftover knife point. It turned out pretty awesome! Huge thanks for the inspiration!
Such an awesome channel you have brother. Really appreciate you taking the time to put these super thorough videos together.
Thank you very much! I really appreciate it. Cheers!
I really like the acid and stone tumble finish.
really cool.
What a great little knife, will these be coming to your store?
beautiful beautiful beautiful, I have no words, really beautiful
very nice. does the acid wash add any corrosion resistance?
Yes it actually does. I've never hard tested an acid washed blade before but a lot of guys that use their carbon blades and beat them up out in the bush say that an acid washed blade is quite a bit better than one left alone. Cheers!
that happy moment you stumble onto a channel that makes you smile -sub'd.
Cool little blade made very well! I like both the polished and the final finish.
holy crap I just noticed you got 50k subs congrats
Thanks!
After seeing so many knife making videos in so many different conditions I can confidentially say that this guy has one of the neatest workshops I've ever seen. This video looks so pleasing to the eye based on the level of preparation alone, I love it.
Thank you very much. I sincerely appreciate the great compliments! Thank you.
you've just got a new subscriber :D
Thanks! Much appreciated!
So much work for a tiny knife. Really cool.
Beautiful work as always but can I mention three things?
First paracord aka 550 cord should not be tied like that, it will strange you if you get it caught in something, 550 pound breaking strength.
Secondly, the black stuff is carbon coming out of the O1, you need to coat the blade (or use a vacuum furnace) to avoid it, it will slightly degrade the quality of the steel as you are actually losing carbon from the blade, bot much but there you go.
Third, 20 min quench, even for a small blade, is not long enough for O1 to get maximum benefit, you want at least two hours for the benefits of the crystal alignment and transitions to occur, some even do a third quench for eight hours...
You mean temper right?
BRpunkRock yes
Well if you are in a position to be strangled at least you have a knife
Knowing how difficult it is for one to narrate themselves, you did one hell of a job. Whole video was so great, camera angles were great, etc. Knife came out so clean! Subscribed.
Thank you very much. For the great compliments and the sub! Much appreciated! Cheers!
That looks like some cutting edge technology. If you now what i mean xD
hahahah, thanks!
thank you 4 the info. I'm ordering some now in black and OD green
i need this 🙁
Love watching that steel twirl around the drill bit
funny how you see some people carrying 6" knives around their necks
Autistic Albatross funnt how you see some people carrying 6"
Enjoy watching these. Thanks
Me : Knifes are easy to ma-
If u have got the tools he has it is
@@ravithejon2466 Trust me, as a knifemaker, that is completely false. If the average person had his tools and he had a firepit, a saw, and a couple of files, I guarantee his knife would be far superior to theirs.
I love your knife! It reminds me of the Spyderco Swick series
how many freaking belt sanders do you have?
+Rabidhotdog exactly how many are shown in the video. 2. *belt grinders*
huh i thought at least 3 maybe 4. I guess you just used different parts of the sander
+Rabidhotdog haha, yeah. I guess different attachments (some homemade), different belts and different camera angles make it look that way. Cheers!
Awesome informational educational video experience Y'alls God Bless Ya
Thank you so much! 👍
Jeremy, your videos have really been a huge part of getting me into knife-making. This one is no different. Great video! I'll send you some pics when I finish my first blade.

It was such a good one so I ordered one directly
My dad is a blade smith, he isn't making them right now so I watch these, I may start making them with him.

+Simple Little Life......great build Jeremy, love the little neck knives, so useful and handy.
Thank you very much buddy! Much appreciated!
this seems like it would be a very good starter knife to learn how to get into knife-making
What a lovely knife. Probably the best neck knife design I've seen. And I've seen a fair few. At US$110 it takes it outta my league, though. That's over $220 here in NZ!
totally enjoyed, loved the methods here. the voice over was well done.
Thank you very much. I appreciate the compliments! Cheers!
Man that 's an awesome Knife!
Beautiful job!
Very nice little blade. Great video!
