Im glad im not the only one that feels this way, this was probably the fastest pit ive ever seen in this game, in my experience, pitstops last 45 seconds with 30 of those seconds staring at the pit crew waiting for my car to appear. Depending on the track those pointless 30 seconds either actually happen or dont but when they do count, my race is ruined. I suppose this wouldnt be an issue if the ai experienced the same amount of time in the pits but they definitely do not! Ive pitted ahead of other cars but somehow they usually get their tires and fuel just before i start getting mine its so confusing lol! I usually have to get at least a 25 second lead over the competition before i pit so that i come out with 2nd place just on my tail. But in some races a gap like that is just not possible and a pit stop usually kills my race with absolutely no chance of even coming out of last place
People have been pointing out the pit stop "delay" since the game was released, and no one seems to know why it happens and if it's a bug. Often times, the player will be waiting for 30+ seconds for the car to even show up in the pit stop, whereas the AI's seems to arrive at their pit stops within 5-10 seconds, completely ruining the race. In online races the pit stops seem to work correctly, but the extreme discrepancy in AI pit stops completely ruins the game and makes some races (such as the Gr.3 Daytona races) extremely difficult for no real reason. You need a 20+ second lead to even have a chance of winning after the pit stop.
I was halfway through a 12 lap race and I went into the pits, my car didn’t show up for two fucking minutes and it didn’t allow me to fill up my car or change the tires. It completely shafted me out of a 30 minute long race.
I have yet to complete any of the 12 lap races as this exact scenario plays out every time and while i do get my fuel and tires, there is no way in hell i can catch up to P.1 when i have 5 laps to go and a 50 second gap inbetween us lol not even the most amateur race team on this planet could possibly take THAT long to switch tires and refuel
Not sure if I've miseed something here but @12:15 when you pit, for some reason you fill the tank up to full when you only needed a quarter of a tank. There's a dot on the fuel guage that tells you how much fuel you need to see out the rest of the race. You probably lost about 6 or 7 eeconds there by over filling, plus the car would be heavier with the additional fuel, therefore slower. You should remember that this game is a racing simulation game, its suposed to be as close to real life as possible.
This video is old, but I'm pretty sure I was driving with fuel map 6 for the first 5 laps and I was switching to fuel map 1 forntge last few laps, thus I would need to fill the tank. I know this is a 'sim' racer, probably the best in gaming, but there are some things that are completely anti-sim for the sake of making the game more challenging. Like tge shorter pits for the AI, and always starting in dead LAST position.
Me personally while grinding mileage doing the X Force Track i was almost out of fuel so i decided to take a pitstop i accidentally clicked dont refuel then i went out when i came to the pitstop entrance with 10% fuel it suddenly teleported me out of the pitstop exit then i didnt get my lap nor my fuel causing me to drive a dreadful 70mph around the track quite painful it is
Ok so during race you can use dpad to cycle thru menus shown bottom right on the screen, one of them is fuel usage and you can turn it down to Lean so your gas lasts way longer Other then that yeah the pit animation is having like 30 second delays it's BS
Mileage is not a thing really. But I’ve seen several times where I pit ahead and cars behind me pit after I enter the pit lane and in the 30second wait I see them jump ahead of me and get tires and fuel before I even start the stop much less get tires or fuel. It makes all races with pitting almost unbeatable. I’m deleting the game. Sad. Project cars 2 is better then this.
that can happen if the other car under fuels compared to you. i try to be mindful of fuel efficiency because the later you pit the less laps worth of fuel you need to make it to the checkered flag. less fuel needed = faster stop
just bought this game...still lame as hell. Nothing more rewarding than fighting your way to 1st...pitting...and knowing you will be in last by the time you finish...and no hope of passing the AI in pit...as they get in and out in a flash.
I hate the rain ! In real life, I would never drive a car with that much horsepower in the rain. That is why my personal sport car sit in the garage in raining days. Also, pitting times are outrageous. Too long. The AI are shorter times. I love the game. But this Game is broken in so many way.

I'm convinced it's just there to make the races more 'competitive'. The same reason you always start dead last position.

I had pits take 30 seconds now in any pit stop. I deleted the game its just to bad but another half way done game
Same thing happened to me 44 minutes into a 60 min endurance. Complete waste of my time, and I was on par for gold too.

Thought I saw someone say you can adjust how fast they refuel etc in settings ? Should cut time down

Once you have the desired level of fuel hit don't refuel an theyll stop

Yeah this is really fucking with my game play pitts stops need to be fix how I get to 4 place then Pitt and come out last then I never catch up 😡
