"No giving up-this struggle is 'The mark of life'" No truer words ever spoken. This song was very emotional as it was the last song of a 3.5 hour concert marking the last song of their 10 Year Anniversary Tour. They do love their fans and we do love them 💕
I bet many got watery eyes or cried as this was a very touching and it was the last song from their concert.

This was the last song of this 3.5-hour long concert at Yokohama arena. I was there!
They made this song, dreaming of performing it at this venue one day.
So it was a dream come true for them!
Btw, the main fans of Band-Maid are 40s and older (regardless of nationalities), and approximately 50% of their YT subscribers are from abroad.
People said that over 1000 international fans flew into Japan to experience this 10th anniversary tour final concert!

This was the perfect ending to Band-Maid's 10th Anniversary Tour! So emotional and meaningful, Kanami wrote this for shows like this and really hits hard!
I was a little sad when this song started because I knew this amazing show came to an end, but it was a perfect ending to a perfect night.

Nov.26 last year, My wife and I were there in Yokohama Arena with tears of joy and sadness as well to say good-bye to the ladies at last. We chanted with the loudest voice to this song that night. The moving finale of the 3-hour-40-minute long show. (33 songs) Happy fatigue and hoarse voice thereafter.😄

Like most Band-Maid songs, I like them from the get-go but really start to appreciate them after more hearings and seeing their LIVE videos. I'll go back and see an older song like YOLO, Order, Shake That, Freezer, Don’t Let Me Down, Before Yesterday, Real Existence, Non Fiction Days and Alone, etc. and realize there's no band that can consistently construct and play like Band-Maid.

Saiki Atsumi (Sy-i-Key or Psyche) “StarQueen" - Lead vocals, arrangements and melodies. At 30 and the youngest, “Sensei” (Teacher) as band members call her, has the last word on many musical decisions. High-heels or sneakers, Sai-chan’s smile melts away her sometimes perceived, coldish persona. Saiki’s powerhouse performances, charisma, and voice focus the experience that’s driven her to the top echelon of hard rock frontwomen... or frontmen!
Miku Kobato (Me-Ku) "Small Pigeon" - Rhythm guitar, vocals, lyricist, 32 years old. “Koba”, as Saiki calls her, is the Band founder and a firecracker MC & PR SpokesPigeon, po! Her “Magic Spell Time” charm and energy ignite the room. Kuruppo! No, no, no… KURUPPO!!
Kanami Tono (Ka-Na-Me) “Princess” - Lead guitar, keyboards, 32 years old, is a prolific writer of most Band-Maid material. Kanami (translates “Song Wave”) is a possessed riff-slayer who’s so damn adorable it hurts. The only thing you want from Mincho is more!
Akane Hirose (A-Ka-Nay) "Gorilla" - Drums, 33 years old, band energizer & co-clown with MISA. Achi’s talents include massive consumption of noodles and bananas, of course, (even during performance!) while revolutionizing rock drumming with relentless drive, dynamics and the kick. This “DrumZilla” is the Party!
MISA (Me-Sa) "Barefoot Assassin" - Bass, 31 years old. An alluring free spirit driving her 5-string to rapturous low-ends while pulling off surprising counter leads with Kanami, off-stage MISA is the band’s goofball ballerina. Sometimes seen as the Mysterious One because she lets her instrument do the talking, the Assassin literally kills it… every note... uniting Band-Maid’s world-class rhythm section. @@lilyanyan Yes! But many American listeners complain about not understanding the lyrics. Well, they are used to understand every popular song! Not like the rest of the world, where English is not their native language.
In my opinion the lyrics are not so important. Of course, it is important to know what it's all about ... lyrics can ruin a good song, for sure. But for a first listen, especially for band maid, I want to enjoy the music! 😅

👉 I have a next song for you in my mind ... Why not jump to an early song (2014/2015) with a great live performance from 2018: "Real Existence" (official live) would be a good suggestion. Or just listen and watch their first MV ever: "Thrill". It saved the band!
These ladies are masters at their instruments: Kanami (composer and lead guitar), Akane (drums) and Misa (bass). Then there is lead vocalist Saiki who is perfect for the Band Maid sound and Miku Kobato (rythm guitar, pure energy, most lyrics, fantastic backing vocals and harmonies). Miku wasn't able to play the guitar when she founded the band in 2013. I don't know of any other band where the fans' playlists differ so much. My favourite is currently "Corallium", but here is just a quite random selection of songs: For some very special LIVE videos try "Freedom", "Corallium", "Play", "Real Existence" and this one: Endless Story. With "Moratorium" (Live at Zepp), "Rinne" (MV) and "Dice" you can hear more hard rock while more catchy songs are "Choose me" (MV) and "Alone" (MV). And if you want to hear some ballads then maybe "About Us" (MV) and "Daydreaming" (MV) are good picks. But don't miss some of their instrumentals like "From now on" (MV) and "Onset" (Live). And finally a very special mind blowing live performance is "Manners/Blackhole" (Official Online Live).
At least these songs are needed to get the full story of Band Maid! And there is more: For example the songs with Miku in lead, their christmas acoustic concert and the 'cover band' Band-Maiko ;-) They have rock, pop punk, funk, jazz, prog and more elements in their reportoire! A wonderful journey...
About the Maid thing? They use many elements from japanese 'Maid Cafes' where Miku once worked: They call their concerts "Servings" (okyu ji), their audience "Masters and princesses" (goshujin-sama to ojou-sama) and each concert is sweetened by (mostly) Mikus "Magic Spell Time" (Omajinai), a 'magical' moment for everyone ... full of energy! And of course there is their outfit which changed alot since their early days but at least Miku is staying with this classic Maid outfit. You can learn alot more from fan videos and from the wonderful documentary series made by Ohrenje and Kaspar Michael (narrator). Band Maid is much more than just their great songs!
I myself am also very interested into Japanese language ... but my goal is only to know some language structure, general sentences and words ... And maybe read hiragana and katakana 😅 I am too old to a learn a new language 😮
