  • TheNarrowPath.com | Steve Gregg shows the fallacies of the dispensationalist/futurist eisegetical insertion of a GAP of over 2000 years between the 69th and 70th Weeks of Daniel's 490 year prophecy. He shows from New Testament scriptures how everything prophesied in Daniel 9:24-27 was fulfilled by Jesus Christ in the first century AD as he established His kingdom!
This is how the Body of Christ interpreted this passage throughout the first 1800 years of church history before namely John Nelson Darby invented the theology of dispensationalism.
Gregg explains that the futurist ideas of the Antichrist and the supposed 7 year Great Triblulation are not mention at all in the passage. But Messiah was cut off 3 1/2 years into his ministry, the middle of the 70th week, when he established the New Covenant and ending the Old Covenant sacrificial system. Then God sent the Roman army to destroy the Jewish temple in 70 AD.
Finally, Steve covers the dating of "from the going forth of the command to restore and build Jerusalem" and how our dating is likely based on erroneous information from Ptolemy in the second century AD. The decree by Cyrus in Ezra 1 fits all the biblical data much better than the decrees of Artaxerxes.
    Daniel 9:24-27
    New King James Version (NKJV)
    24 "Seventy weeks[a] are determined
For your people and for your holy city,
    To finish the transgression,
To make an end of[b] sins,
    To make reconciliation for iniquity,
    To bring in everlasting righteousness,
To seal up vision and prophecy,
And to anoint the Most Holy.
    25 "Know therefore and understand,
That from the going forth of the command
    To restore and build Jerusalem
    Until Messiah the Prince,
    There shall be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks;
The street[c] shall be built again, and the wall,[d]
    Even in troublesome times.
26 "And after the sixty-two weeks
    Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself;
And the people of the prince who is to come
Shall destroy the city and the sanctuary.
The end of it shall be with a flood,
And till the end of the war desolations are determined.
    27 Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week;
But in the middle of the week
He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering.
And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate,
Even until the consummation, which is determined,
Is poured out on the desolate."
    Footnotes:
Daniel 9:24 Literally sevens, and so throughout the chapter
Daniel 9:24 Following Qere, Septuagint, Syriac, and Vulgate; Kethib and Theodotion read To seal up.
    Daniel 9:25 Or open square
    Daniel 9:25 Or moat

Historicism: It takes into account what Steve is describing as having occurred in the 1st century and regards further prophecy as gradually being fulfilled over time. I, for example, regard tribulation as having begun by that time (per Matthew 24:21) and the First Beast's iniitial reign of 1,260 years (3.5 prophetic years) as having been fulfilled by the Roman Catholic Papacy in the middle ages, ending in the late 18th/early 19th century. However, I regard the Second Beast's time as still unfolding. Note that Preterism and Futurism were propounded by the Jesuits in order to divert Protestants from recognizing the Papacy as the Antichrist. The Reformers were Historicists.

The futurists, dispensationalists, like to use Dan. 9:27 as their date setting scenario to mark the beginning of a 7 year tribulation. A confirming of a covenant with Israel's adversary but, the verbage in that verse, "he shall confirm the covenant with many" is similar to Matthew 26:28 "For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins". I began to understand and study the view more and was angry. How absurd that they teach this as an "obvious truth" when it's so debatable! It's based on some far fetched assumptions. Based on Hebrews 9:15, the Messiah’s death in Daniel 9:26 cannot be separated from the New Covenant fulfilled by His blood at Calvary.
Is the New Covenant found in Daniel chapter 9?
Are we supposed to believe the angel Gabriel appeared to Daniel to reveal the timeline of the Messiah who would fulfill the New Covenant promised in Jeremiah 31:31-34, and then the angel failed to even mention the New Covenant. Or, is the covenant with the many in Daniel 9:27 the same covenant with the many in Matthew 26:28? The 1599 Geneva Bible is the Bible the Pilgrims brought to America, before John Darby showed up on our shores about the time of the Civil War. What was the earlier understanding of Daniel 9:27 found below in the notes of the 1599 Geneva Bible?
      -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dan 9:27 And he shal confirme the couenant with many for one weeke: and in the middes of the weeke he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the ouerspreading of the abominations, he shall make it desolate, euen vntill the consummation determined shalbe powred vpon the desolate.
      Daniel 9:27
And he (a) shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to (b) cease, (c) and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make [it] desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.
      (a) By the preaching of the Gospel he affirmed his promise, first to the Jews, and after to the Gentiles. (See Rom. 1:16, Matt. 10:5-7, Acts 10:36-38)
      (b) Christ accomplished this by his death and resurrection. (See Heb. 9:15)
      (c) Meaning that Jerusalem and the sanctuary would be utterly destroyed because of their rebellion against God, and their idolatry: or as some read, that the plague will be so great, that they will all be astonished at them.
      (See Matt. 23:38, Matt. 24:1-2, Luke 19:41-44)
      ------------------------------------------------
During recent years many New Covenant scholars have examined Daniel chapter 9 from a New Covenant perspective. Did Christ fulfill the summary found in Daniel 9:24? Is it about the New Covenant fulfilled by the blood of Christ at Calvary?
Dan 9:24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.
      Heb 10:16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;
Heb 10:17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more. (These two verses are quoted from Jeremiah 31:31-34.)
Heb 10:18 Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.
Act 10:36 The word which God sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: (he is Lord of all:)
      Act 10:37 That word, I say, ye know, which was published throughout all Judaea, and began from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached;
Act 10:38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
The death of the Messiah is found in Daniel 9:26, and there are only two possible singular antecedents for the word “he” in the next verse. Those antecedents are either Christ or Titus, who was the prince of the people that destroyed the temple during 70 AD.
Dan 9:26 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.
Dan 9:27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.
Is the “he” in Daniel 9:27 the “Messiah”, or “the prince” of the people that destroyed the city and the sanctuary in verse 26? If we used “the people of the prince” it would not be a singular “he”.
Does the author of the Book of Hebrews connect the New Covenant with the Messiah’s death found in Daniel 9:26, in the verse below?
Heb 9:15 And for this reason He is the Mediator of the new covenant, by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions under the first covenant, that those who are called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance. (NKJV)
Verse 26 also says the Messiah would be cut off “after” the 69 weeks. If I agree to paint your house “after” 69 weeks, it will not be painted until the 70th week, or after. Is there a “gap” of almost 2,000 years between the 69th week and the 70th week, or was it fulfilled during the first century when the Gospel was preached “first” to the Jews?
We know there is a time period when the Gospel was taken “first” to the Jews, as the Apostle Paul said in the verse below.
Rom 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.
Can we find a time period of about seven years when the Gospel was taken “first” to Daniel’s people during the first century? If we can, we have good evidence that the 70th week of Daniel has already been fulfilled.
Did Christ command His disciples to take the Gospel only to Israel in the passage below?
Mat 10:5 These twelve Jesus sent out and commanded them, saying: "Do not go into the way of the Gentiles, and do not enter a city of the Samaritans.
Mat 10:6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
Mat 10:7 And as you go, preach, saying, 'The kingdom of heaven is at hand.'
Is the time period when the Gospel was preached “first” (Rom. 1:16) to the Jews in the passage above, confirmed in the passage below?
Act 10:36 The word which God sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: (he is Lord of all:)
      Act 10:37 That word, I say, ye know, which was published throughout all Judaea, and began from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached;
Act 10:38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
In the passage above Luke confirms the fact that the Gospel of Christ was preached throughout the land of Israel after the baptism which John preached. Here again, we have a text which reveals a time period when the Gospel was taken “first” to the Jews, as Paul said in Romans 1:16.
Bible scholars have looked at the number of Passover celebrations in the Gospels and have estimated Christ’s earthly ministry to have lasted about three and one half years. Was the Gospel taken “first” (Rom. 1:16) to the Jews for a period of about three and one half years during the period of time revealed in the Gospels?
In Galatians 1:14-18 Paul reveals he did not go up to see Peter until about 3 years after his conversion. During that time the Gospel continued to be taken almost exclusively to Daniel's people, before Paul took the Gospel to the Gentiles.

For Daniel 9:27 the Bible gives scripture reference to Isaiah 42:6
      6 I the Lord have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles;
      Isaiah 49:8
      8 Thus saith the Lord, In an acceptable time have I heard thee, and in a day of salvation have I helped thee: and I will preserve thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, to establish the earth, to cause to inherit the desolate heritages;
The He is referring to Jesus Christ who was crucified in the middle of the 70th week and when you go back and read
Daniel 9:12-13 the word He " is used about 2 times in Daniel's prayer and the He" is referring to God
      Daniel 9:12-14
12 And he hath confirmed his words, which he spake against us, and against our judges that judged us, by bringing upon us a great evil: for under the whole heaven hath not been done as hath been done upon Jerusalem.
13 As it is written in the law of Moses, all this evil is come upon us: yet made we not our prayer before the Lord our God, that we might turn from our iniquities, and understand thy truth.
14 Therefore hath the Lord watched upon the evil, and brought it upon us: for the Lord our God is righteous in all his works which he doeth: for we obeyed not his voice.
And also this 70th week prophecy is not relevant for the Christians under the New Covenant because during this time in history the Jews were under a curse their land was cursed and they were cursed according to the book of Deuteronomy chapter 28 the tribe of Judah and Benjamin committed wickedness before the sight of the Lord by worshiping the idols of Baal and going upon every high mountain and under every green tree playing the harlot and sacrificing their own children and the Jews during this time in history they were circumcised and when the Gospel was extended to the Gentiles and Cornelius received the Holy Ghost and his entire family God did not demand for the Gentiles to be circumcised so we as Christians today should not be looking back to link ourselves unto a curse
      Isaiah 43:18-19
      King James Version
18 Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.
19 Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.
The New Covenant has superceded the Mosaic law and when the Jews went into captivity by the Babylonians they were still under the Mosaic law those that are under the law are under the curse.
I am not saying that the 70th week prophecy should not be studied or taught but I am saying that it is not relevant to the rapture or the second coming of Jesus Christ and those that hold to this prophecy have serious misconceptions of interpretation.
      Amen 🙏!

The 70 weeks (490 years) are divided into 3 periods: 7 weeks (49 years), 62 weeks (434 years), and 1 week (7 years).
The 70 weeks commence from the going forth of the commandment to restore and build Jerusalem and there is only one such decree issued by Artaxerxes around 460-450 BCE per Nehemiah 2:1-8.
    1) *49 years (from 457BCE to 408BCE) will take to rebuild the street and moat of Jerusalem;*
    2) *434 years (from 408BCE to 26AD) until the Messiah prince shows up at the beginning of week 70, in 26AD;*
    3) *7 years (from 26AD to 33AD) - in the middle of week 70 (3.5 years into Jesus' ministry), in 29AD the Messiah dies a vicarious death as an ATONEMENT for the sins of the world and this will cause the sacrifice and oblation of Yom Kippur to cease in God's sight so all future animal sacrifices that the anti-Christian Jews (the Desolate) will continue to bring are referred to as the abominations of the Desolate on the wing of the temple and this will last for 40 years until the destruction determined is poured out upon the Desolate in 70AD.*
*The Messiah is cut off out of the land of the living (as described in Isaiah 52-53) but not for himself - for the sins of his people thus finishing the transgression, making an end of sins, making reconciliation for iniquity, and bringing in everlasting righteousness.*
*This will seal up all vision and the messianic prophecies as having been FULFILLED in Jesus.* BINGO!
And sure enough there is evidence for the Messiah at 30CE in the Talmuds as proof that God stopped accepting the Yom Kippur sacrifices 40 years before the destruction of the temple which coincides with the crucifixion of Jesus that makes an end of sins and brings in everlasting righteousness!
*_”Forty years before the destruction of the Temple, the western light went out, the crimson thread remained crimson, and the lot for the Lord always came up in the left hand. They would close the gates of the Temple by night and get up in the morning and find them wide open”_* (Jacob Neusner, The Yerushalmi, p.156-157).
A similar passage in the Babylonian Talmud states:
*_”Our rabbis taught: During the last forty years before the destruction of the Temple the lot ['For the Lord'] did not come up in the right hand; nor did the crimson-colored strap become white; nor did the western most light shine; and the doors of the Hekel [Temple] would open by themselves”_* (Soncino version, Yoma 39b).

While we can point to many things that the Jews did that would cause them to be a stench in God's nostrils, like rejecting their Messiah & manipulating the Romans to crucify Him.
But what fits the definition of the abomination that causes desolation standing in the Holy place?
As V_George says continuing to sacrifice animals when the perfect sacrifice has been offered would certainly be an abomination & standing in the sense of a standing order, or to continue the same pattern that has been replaced by the sacrifice of Messiah the Lamb of God.
The Holy place being the temple/dwelling place of God, but now Messiah said the temple is the believer/collectively the church.

Many sincere Christians have attempted to predict the end of the world using Daniel 9. But as this presentation (perhaps unwittingly) points out--that can't be done! For starters, the decree to begin the 70 weeks is not agreed on by Bible scholars. In addition, the commonly accepted ancient dates (found in many study-Bible footnotes) that are based on Ptolemy's calculations--can be called into question. And then of course are all the problems with the 70th week. All this is in harmony with Matthew 24:36; for no-one knows the day or the hour.
I agree with Steve that the six elements of verse 24 have been fulfilled, but I would suggest they are not yet filled-full. In others words, Daniel 9:24 has been inaugurated, but not yet consummated. This is one of the best expositions of Daniel 9 I've ever come across. Blessings to you sir!

The whole purpose of the Gabriel bringing this message was to show Danial how long it would be til Christ would come and the time remaining determined on Danial's people the Jewish nation. 490 years. Scripture does not give us precedence nor permission to insert a gap anywhere in those 70 weeks. To do so would destroy the purpose of the Calendar God was giving to Daniel. To insert a gap would also give the message Christ has not come......hmm do you know anyone who is saying that Christ has not come yet? Well Christ has come and been rejected by his own as was prophesied By Isaiah 53. Dispensation theology is a false theology actually brought to the Church by the false teachers and synagogue of Satan to prepare the sleeping church to receive the false Christ.

The gap is because of the prophetic view...like looking ahead seeing the peaks of mountains.you cannot see the valleys and distances between the mountains. It's not just in Daniel. The problem you are raising is that bring your own world view into the scripture rather than seeking to have the actual scripture challenge your perspective. We need to regard the Bible as a foreign series of documents written for ancient people.

COME, let us reason together: it is unreasonable to believe Christ would come back to this polluted, decaying earth with contaminated soil, air, and water, patch it up for a mere thousand years burn it up and then replace it with the New Heavens and a New earth. The reason why most will not believe this is because the Bible said they wouldn't. Luke 31:35 "For it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth". Glad I found you.

Daniel was reading from the Book of Jeremiah when the angel Gabriel appeared. The New Covenant had already been promised to Israel and Judah in Jeremiah 31:31-34. Daniel chapter 9 is the timeline of the New Covenant Messiah, who would fulfill the New Covenant in His blood, found fulfilled during the first century in Hebrews 8:6-13. Based on Matthew 10:5-7 and Galatians 1:14-18, the Gospel of the New Covenant was taken first to Daniel's people for about 7 years before Paul began his ministry to the Gentiles. Do we think the angel came to reveal the timeline of the New Covenant Messiah and then he forgot to mention the New Covenant? The scriptural reference beside of Daniel 9:27 in my NKJV Bible is Matthew 26:28.
The following comes from the 1599 Geneva Bible, which is the Bible the Pilgrims brought to America.
    (b) Christ accomplished this by his death and resurrection.
    (c) Meaning that Jerusalem and the sanctuary would be utterly destroyed because of their rebellion against God, and their idolatry: or as some read, that the plague will be so great, that they will all be astonished at them.

Excellent presentation Steve. We have been taught that His ministry lasted 3½ years. How does that line up with Luke 4:19? Some doubt the validity of John 6:4, saying that it was added circa the 12th century. I can't prove or disprove that, but if it is true, our Messiah was only here for two Passovers, the second one being the day of His crucifixion; there being one year between the two Passovers. The Septuagint states that 'One week will establish the covenant with many.' Nothing about a one-week covenant.Consider that the 70th week was a week of seven days as opposed to seven years. Seven days like we read inLeviticus 12:2. it is the same Hebrew word there as in Daniel 9:27. If the 69th week ended at the triumphal entry, another week elapsed by the time of the resurrection. All of the events of Daniel 9:24 were accomplished as the 70th week, an actual week of seven days came to a close. Have we ever wondered why the prophecy was given in periods of 'sevens'?

Although in Christ we have different views and interpretations of the end times and prophecies, we must never forget to love one another as a group of believers. We must stick together and respect each other regardless of how we interpret this prophecy. There are always different views on many things in the Bible, but one thing that is important is still God's work on the cross. This is how I wonder if "He" could be Jesus, these words: "And he shall make a strong covenant with many for one week", refers to a covenant lasting over a period of 7 years. How could this point to the covenant Jesus instituted, if the covenant only will last seven years? Blessings upon you brother.

Even if you are an amilliniallist, you have to have a gap between the death of Christ and the year 70 AD. So if Christ was cut off at the end of the 69th week in 33 ad, there is another 37 year gap until 70 AD. But you say there is no gap, that 490 years ran concurrently.

Good call! I said the same thing because I thought the destruction of the temple was one of the things that had to happen in the 70 weeks BUT its not...there is a list of things that had to happen before the end of the 70 weeks and they all happened in Christ. Even if there was a few years left on the last week it doesnt matter because the list happened inside the seventy weeks.
Its like if I told my son..."7 days are determined for you to cut the grass, clean your room and walk the dog" if those three things happened on day 5 then the last two days are not needed.
OR if he killed the dog on day 5 then he failed and the last two days are not needed. Either way my 7 day "prophesy" is fulfilled...there is no gap between the start of the prophecy and its fulfilment.
      Makes sense to me anyways.

Also, we keep saying that the temple was destroyed in 70 AD...Jesus actually rendered the temple useless (spiritually destroyed it) at his death and, just like he said, rebuilt it in 3 days...for about 37 years the stiffnecked jews kept performing (overspreading) abominations until God sent the Romans to physically remove it (make it desolate) in 70AD. You can't understand New Testament prophetic scriptures without a firm understanding of Daniel...and you can't understand some of Daniel without understanding secular history. The history you need to know is that in 154B.C. or thereabouts , a ruler named Antiochus Epiphanes IV conquered Israel , and this is part of what Daniel's prophecy about the abomination of desolation describes. It refers to the historical fact that Antiochus Epiphanes ( Epiphanes meaning "god revealed") walked into the second temple in Jerusalem and set up a statue of the Greek god Zeus, and made jews worship it! Jesus mentions this in Mathew ch 24, but it applies to a time yet ahead of us for these reasons.
#1 The future antichrist has a false prophet that creates an "image" that can speak and cause all who do not worship "the beast" to be killed (Revelation)
#2 Just like Antiochus Epiphanes IV, the anti christ will declare himself to be "Epiphanes" and the image that the false prophet made, will be put in a temple in Jerusalem, to be worshipped. A third temple, the one The Temple Society has already got the furnishings, priestly garments and incense made for...the temple that is the only reason Israel could not get a peace treaty signed with the Palestinians. The antichrist will be the one who successfully negotiates that treaty...and the jews will build that temple in the near future. But before that, Russia attacks Israel with it's muslim allies...and loses ( Ezekiel), so that the losers (muslims) are eager to sign a treaty...and the antichrist will go to all the nations of the world and persuade them that the only way to make sure these terrible conflicts never happen again...is to agree to a world government ( the rider on the white horse of Revelation). And you know that Russia is fighting a war right now...and every indication is that it will spread to the middle east, because Putin has been warning Israel many times already. This is exactly what the "dispensationalists" have been saying that the Bible says...and every day, it's looking more and more like they have been right.

@@markanthony3275 absolutely false. Yes I know about anticohus epiphanes. And yes I know Jesus mentions the abomination of desolation as a future event. However Jesus is referring to a future event of his generation hence the destruction of the temple 40 years after his resurrection. The phrase abomination of desolation means destruction. It doesn't just have to me putting a false idol on the temple. The emperors of a rome all called themselves dieties and emperors like Caligula wanted to put a statue of himself in the temple but never did. The jews were in bed with the Roman emperors , both sides had their hand in killing Jesus. That was the abomination of desolation. Luke 21 a parallel of Matthew 24 is clearly talking about the destruction of the temple. The problem is dispensationalist like yourself don't know how to interpret using the context.

Good observation. I was wondering about that too. We could say the determination for the temple and city destruction was decreed by God, but by His mercy it was delayed, as in giving Israel a generation's time to repent. It wouldn't be the first time God said a judgment would happen and He delayed it, or said the next generation would feel the judgment instead. I'm not saying that's the only way to look at it, but one to consider. In Peter's sermon in Acts chapter 3, Peter calls on his audience to repent so that God would send "times of refreshing", which could be seen as "respite", or delay. Lots repented, so that could be another possible reason for the judgment being delayed. It still happens after the 70 weeks. Jesus reference Daniel's prophecy about the abomination of desolation and then said "this generation" would feel that judgment. Jesus being God has full authority to shift/delay any date of judgment.Very good question, though. I had scratched my head about that one for a while.

Here, the word Messiah means the anointed one". In the Hebrew, this word is not capitalized as is in the English version, leading the reader to think of Christ. In the literal historical event, the anointed one is the High Priest who was stopped by Eleazar the Zealot who cause the cessation of sacrifice in the Temple in the year 66AD. Eleazar also burned the food surplus in Jerusalem and I believe he and his gang bangers initiated the fire in the temple to over-come the ROMANS, which back fired and the whole temple was destroyed by fire. This is the literal event. The spiritual symbolic event is that the Messiah or anointed one was cut off is CHRIST who was crucified and died for our sins.
When the "Messiah being cut off" is simply interpreted as literal to mean Christ, the rest of the passage does not fit, because the temple was destroyed 40 yrs later, which is beyond the 70 weeks. You would have to add 5-6 more weeks to complete that end of Daniels 9 by 70 AD. The actual events makes the 490 yrs fit with the anointed one being the High priest stopped by Eleazar in cessation of offering sacrifices. But when placed in the symbolic meaning which is Christ, being our high priest and being cut off is also correct but it does not follow the 70 week timeline.
Let me know if this was clear. I Find the same thing occurs with the verses 24, 25, 26 and 27. I can explain how as well if you are interested. I saw your whole video and agreed with everything you mentioned but see a double fulfillment. the literal that follows the timeline and the symbolic that does not follow the timeline

He did so by quoting the prophet Daniel specifically, thereby placing the fulfilment of Daniel 9:27 clearly in the future, as part of those events which occur immediately prior to his return - what he himself calls the Great Tribulation. The greatest confusion is when the final week happened and what happened during that time. The prophecy in Daniel just doesnt give enough information. But certainly, i do not see any evidence that a 2000+ year gap makes any sense. It seems that Jesus crucifixion and resurrection happened during the final week. I remember someone a long time ago suggesting that Jesus was crucified and resurrected half way during the final week, lining up with ending the temple sacrificial system and Mosiac covenant, since he was the final sacrifice. The next half week was the founding of the church and ended with the death of Stephen.

In my opinion, There is good reason to believe that we are now in the last 3.5 years before the Lord's Return: or the 1290 day countdown to the abomination. This is explained below.
Temple sacrifices do Not have to be re-established before the antichrist can come .... because the Hebrew word for "sacrifice" is Missing --- meaning it has been ADDED to the text (in 5 different places). Ostensibly because Daniel made a mistake when he left it out (five different times) ??? See Below for more details.
In Dan. 12:11-13 we are given a literal countdown to the abomination. I am of the opinion that this countdown has already started. During this time we are told that (many legal decisions --- i.e. times and laws) will be "given into his power for 3.5 years." This is the time we are now in. Dan. 7:25
Some translations say "daily sacrifice," "burnt offering," or "regular sacrifice," however the word for "sacrifice" and / or "burnt offering" is Not in the Hebrew text -- but has been added (both here and in Daniel 8:11, 12,13 and 11:31). The meaning of the word for "regular" or "daily" could also be "the normal" --- as in the normal way of life. Thus I now believe this passage is referring to when the normal way of life was Halted or stopped (all over the world -- for at least a month) on or about March 12 of 2020, because of the (ostensibly terminal) "flu."
This was the beginning of the 1290 day countdown to the "abomination of desolation" that will then be "set up," and after which time we have 45 more days to the Return of the King of Kings -- Jesus the Christ. This is also referred to as the "time of darkness" that will come on the whole earth (John 9:4) --- during which time God's people will have to stay put, cease working, and / or hide out. 2 Thes. 2:1-12, Rev. 13:16-18; 17:12-14, Isa. 26:20-21; Zeph. 2:3.
See "Daniel's 70th week Already fulfilled" on RUclips to see why this it so. Note also that in Daniel 9:26 we are told that Messiah would be cut off "AFTER" the 69th week: or During the 70th one.
By the way, you did a Very Good job of Explaining this (very complicated passage -- Dan. 9:24-27).

I just posted a video on it as well where I discuss the fact that almost all of the Bible publishers also went along with Not putting the words "burnt offering" or "sacrifice" in Italics, but making it look like it's actually in the Hebrew. Establishing prophecy with mathematical precision is not necessary since it is the EVENTS the prophecy points to that allows us to see its fulfillment and is probably why the 70 weeks are divided into 3 sections. The 49 years is the time it took to rebuild the temple which work stopped and started before completion. The 62 weeks gives us the timespan that brings us to the 1st advent of Christ - but not for an exact date. And then the 70th week is divided specifically by the cross; which not only inaugurates the new covenant but confirms the end of the old covenant and the promise given to Abraham. At which point the prophecy doesn't have to hold to a specific timeline because Jesus declared "it is finished" on the cross. And the only other sign left for the Jews to see because the Son of man was in heaven during that time (no time in heaven...takes care of the 1000 year 'gap' 2 Pet 3:8-10) was the destruction of the temple and the city. Mat 24:30
That sign event in the earth marked that the judgment upon the enemies of Christ - the ones who crucified Him, had come and with it the resurrection of the dead and all else that entails which is heavenly as the Revelation of Jesus Christ depicts and which He declares "it is done".

I think Steve and others would be very interested in the detailed explanations of Daniel's prophecies and their fulfillment contained in my "Reality Bender" videos as follows:-

The key to understanding these prophecies of Gabriel given to Daniel is in what Daniel was puzzling over when Gabriel came. Namely the Messianic (cont.)

Jesus is anointed as the Holy of Holies/SANCTUARY by the end of the 70 weeks of Daniel 9:24-27 as predicted in many other scriptures
*_"Sanctify the Lord of hosts himself; and let him be your fear, and let him be your dread. And he shall be for a SANCTUARY; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offence to both the houses of Israel, for a gin and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem. And many among them shall stumble, and fall, and be broken, and be snared, and be taken."_*
*_"Therefore say, Thus saith the Lord God; Although I have cast them far off among the heathen, and although I have scattered them among the countries, yet will I be to them as a little SANCTUARY in the countries where they shall come."_*
Jesus coming in the flesh as GOD WITH US (Isaiah 7:14, 8:8, 8:10, 9:6-7) is exactly when and how God will place his SANCTUARY in the midst of his people,
*_"Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them; it shall be an everlasting covenant with them: and I will place them, and multiply them, and will set my SANCTUARY in the midst of them for evermore. My tabernacle also shall be with them: yea, I will be their God, and they shall be my people. And the heathen shall know that I the Lord do sanctify Israel, when my SANCTUARY shall be in the midst of them for evermore."_*

    I've found,
The Herodian temple was completed in 10CE just in time for Messiah.
Christ was conceived in 0, born August-September in 1CE.
Christ was left behind in 12CE and later found on UB.
Baptized in winter of CE29 and began his 1 year ministry after the temptation in the wilderness.
Topological to the Flood and Exodus.
Was a lamb of the 1st year and crucified at the age of 31. He was old enough during his 30th year in CE29 to be a priest in the favorable year of the Lord.
CE29 and CE30 were sabbatical years back to back.
Christ died in the midst of the week on the blood ratified covenant calendar of the Melchizedek priesthood and did not attend the feasts of the Jews.
Galileans also used a dawn daystart opposite of the Jews because the Jewish leaders did not use the Torah and were cursed for it and did not recognize the visitation.

@SteveGreggVideos go back and look into the calendars, the false lunar, and the equinox. You can see the 1st day count began the day after the spring equinox. Compare this to the lunar feast calendar, and you can see how the years 12, 29, and 30 line up perfectly with scripture. There is no other theory out there that proves this the true timing of Messiah.
Yahusha was still in the temple during UB in 12.
Yahusha came up in the midst of Sukkot in 29.
Yahusha was crucified the day before the Jewish passover in 30.
Yahusha and the deciples used dawn daystart in the crucifixion accounts Matthew, Mark, and Luke. But John used Roman reckoning and explains everything very clearly.

If the 70th week didn't come after the 69th, and has ot yet happened, Jesus died OUTSIDE of the 70 weeks and fails to be Messiah, or atleast to have "make reconciliation for iniquity" or "put an end to sin" or "bring in everlasting righteousness". Continued from post 2 days ago: When Gabriel appeared to Daniel He named several things that would happen to Israel during the 490 year time period of the 70 weeks. They are these: They would FINISH the transgression, make an end of sins, make reconciliation for iniquity, bring in everlasting righteousness, seal up the vision and the prophesy, and anoint the most Holy. Okay he immediately went on to say that 490 years were determined to fulfill or to accomplish all these things. He then said that within a 483 {49 + 434 years} year time period a certain messiah and prince would come as well as another Messiah who would be killed after the 434th year of this 483 year period. Then he said that after the 483 years that the MESSIAH { JESUS NOW RESURRECTED}}} would confirm the covenant with many for 7 years {CHRISTIANS} but in the middle of this 7 years he {TITUS} would cause the JEWISH sacrifices and the oblations to cease and that AFTER the middle of the 7years {3 1/2 years} the war would continue {3 1/2 years} and that which is determined shall be poured out among the desolate or desolation's were determined. The Angel Gabriel NEVER NEVER NEVER said that the MESSIAH would be "cut off" AFTER 69 weeks. Gabriel said: After 69 weeks will come messiah the prince {TITUS} BUT after 62 weeks {of the 69} MESSIAH {would be crucified} Cut Off} but not for himself! Here is what actually happened. Exactly 434 years {62 weeks} AFTER Israel returned to the land of Israel and it was restored, the MESSIAH JESUS CHRIST was killed on Calvary. Then exactly 49 years later {7 weeks} Titus and Vespasian {little messiah-little prince} went to war with Israel. So 66 AD began the 70th week and ended 483 years of the prophesy. Exactly 7 years later, the war ended but in the very middle of this 7 years in 70 AD the "messiah the prince" {TITUS} [VESPASIAN} caused the JEWISH sacrifices and oblation to cease by going into Jerusalem and burning down the "TEMPLE OF GOD". HERE is the total fulfillment of the 490 years in the years and events already recorded in history. The reason people cannot understand this prophesy is because scholars and teachers have Jesus Christ being born at least 15 years later than he actually was. And they teach that Jesus ministered for 3 1/2 years when He actually only ministered for 1 1/2 years. So from the actual fulfillment of the 70 weeks prophesy we know that Jesus Christ was actually born in September 17BC and actually died in March 29 17AD. Exactly the dates prophesied by Gabriel to fulfill the 70 weeks prophesy. No other way in fact or reality can these years be rightfully determined. Conclusion: The dates of the 490 year prophesy of Daniel 9 are 417BC - 73 AD. BIBLICAL YEARS.

Revelation of Jesus Christ and Ezekiel confirm the angel that measures the temple, brings John and Ezekiel to the same temple which has not been built yet Eze 40:3

Jesus ministry was for 3 and a half years and then he was cut off or crucified. Then in the book of revelation there is 3 and a half years mentioned you will never see 7 years at all. Daniel 9:26 says that in the 70th week shall Messiah be cut off and in verse 27 in the midst of the week he (the Messiah ) shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease. This bring us to 69 and half weeks leaving 3 and a half years left that we see in revelation. In john 7:14 Jesus makes his appearance in the temple in the middle of the feast of tabernacles a 7 day feast. I believe that Jesus makes his appearance in the bride of Christ (the 5 wise virgins ) ( The manifestation of the son's of God romans 8:19) 3 and a half years before his second coming.

Rev 13:15 seems to say that the image is given life. what if the image of the beast IS the antichrist. so both the image and the antichrist sit in the temple of God, because they are one and the same. the word for image is "eikon", same word used when Jesus is described as being the image of God in 2Cor 4:4 & Col 1:15. Problem with this interpretation is that Jesus did not make a 1wk covenant and 70AD would make it over 70weeks, so doesn't really work.

What I never understand is when Steve says that the time of Jerusalem is done, but this is not the case. Jerusalem is in Jewish hands now, and the Temple has already had a chief cornerstone laid. I understand he is trying to say this isn't God Ordained, but how can you say that. The former inhabitants of Israel have returned to their homeland, are speaking Hebrew, and following the Torah as best they can. I do get that in light of an understanding of not seeing Israel as a Nation you can come to these conclusions, but Israel is a Nation, and has been since they were exiled in 70 AD. How can Steve discount them as a Nation. He may have explained this, but I never heard him explain his perspective on who Israel is now, and why they are not relevant.
Please explain who the Israel of today is. in Steve's perspective, and why they do not fit into biblical truth. If you read any of the Rabbinical teachings, you see they believe that they were exiled in order to be restored. Maybe Daniel's prophecy is not numbers driven and only a general perspective. To use a dispensationalist argument about using these numbers to discount their perspective seems silly to me. What I mean is, that the dispensationalists say that these numbers are pre-eminent, what if they are meaningless, or misunderstood. Christian scholars seem only concerned to prove their own perspectives, whether thats true or not, it seems Steve is using the same perspective to prove his point. Please tell me I am wrong.

+Traci Scheelk I have to respectfully disagree with you Traci. There is absolutely no evidence, physical or biblical (when I say biblical I mean evidence where you do not have to support its meaning by a theory).
Daniel is one of the books, where it seems to say the Church, i.e. the stone which is not a Nation will shatter all of the Nations Dan. 2:34-35, which clearly explains the church is never to be a Nation nor ever was. To say that God set apart one Nation within the World, which is the Twelve Tribes of Israel, then recants this and replaces that Nation with other people, is to have to stretch the scriptures. When you look at who Israel is, a part of the Nations spoken about in the Daniel vision, you have to say you do not want to be a part of the Nations of this world. Instead as people who stand on the Rock, we will eventually be the solution to this worlds Nation system, which only cause war and death. Israel is the example for the Nations to follow, but they were exiled, if we try and to usurp their place because of some antiquated view of a lost tribe theory, I think we miss what the Lord is doing in the world today, and miss the blessing we have in identifying as Christ bought saints, not long lost Israelites.
To try and say that the historical Tribes of Israel is Europe, or the United States, or some other Western Country is to not understand where these tribes would have settled. I realize the Church of 200-300 years ago tried desperately to place themselves as Israel, but the evidence is just not there. The main problem with all of these end times theories is just that, they are theories and have no empirical truth behind them, but only stand as strong as their theory goes. I have heard Steve speak and love his understanding in most things, but I believe when it comes to the end times, his teachings are a bit off.

Therefore, understand the matter, and consider the vision. 24 Seventy weeks are determined upon your people, and upon your holy city, to finish transgression, 5, to make an end of sins, to make reconciliation for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the Holiest of the Holy People. 25 Know therefore, and understand that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to rebuild Yerusalem, to the Messiah the Prince, will be seven weeks, and sixty-two weeks; the street will be rebuilt again, and the wall, even in troublous times. 26 And after the hsixty-two weeks Messiah will be cut off, without a successor; and the people of the prince that will come will destroy the city and the sanctuary; and its end will be with a flood; and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. 27 jAnd he will confirm a covenant with many for one mweek; seven years, and in the midst of the week, he will cause the sacrifice and the oblation to oease; instead, he will cause the prevalence of The Lord of Heaven even until the destruction that is determined will be poured upon the desolator.

Yes there is a gap between the 69th and the 70th week, and Daniel 2 is the solution to the mystery. You see Sir, the antichrist has to be in power when the stone strikes the image and brakes it in pieces. Here Sir:
    Dan.2:
[42] And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken.
[43] And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay.
[44] And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.
[45] Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the
The stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; You can't deny that the stone is Jesus Christ, when He returns to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords! Without any doubt!!! Need a second witness:
The last one world government, after Israel became a nation again in 1948 has to be in power, with the antichrist and the ten kings, when Jesus Christ returns for the entire prophecy of Daniel 2 to be completely fulfilled:
    Dan.7:
[7] After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns.
[8] I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.
[9] I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire.
[10] A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened.
[11] I beheld then because of the voice of the great words which the horn spake: I beheld even till the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame.
[12] As concerning the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away: yet their lives were prolonged for a season and time.
[13] I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.
[14] And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.
[15] I Daniel was grieved in my spirit in the midst of my body, and the visions of my head troubled me.
[16] I came near unto one of them that stood by, and asked him the truth of all this. So he told me, and made me know the interpretation of the things.
[17] These great beasts, which are four, are four kings, which shall arise out of the earth.
[18] But the saints of the most High shall take the kingdom, and possess the kingdom for ever, even for ever and ever.
    [19] Then I would know the truth of the fourth beast, which was diverse from all the others, exceeding dreadful, whose teeth were of iron, and his nails of brass; which devoured, brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with his feet;
[20] And of the ten horns that were in his head, and of the other which came up, and before whom three fell; even of that horn that had eyes, and a mouth that spake very great things, whose look was more stout than his fellows.
    [21] I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them;
[22] Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom.
[23] Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.
[24] And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings.
[25] And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.
[26] But the judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end.
[27] And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him.
    Now, here's something very important:
    Dan.2:
[28] But there is a God in heaven that revealeth secrets, and maketh known to the king Nebuchadnezzar what shall be in the latter days.
No one should have to explain what "LATTER DAYS" means? It means the last days of this earth age.
This is indeed future prophecy, when Jesus Christ returns:
    Rev.17:
[12] And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.
[13] These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.

The Prince was Messiah the Prince. The people of the Prince were the same Jewish people who were responsible for the murder of Christ. These people were also responsible for the destruction of the temple and Jerusalem. They refused to pay taxes to Caesar, they took over the Masada, and they stopped the sacrifices for Caesar. This was enough for Nero to react, and give Vespasian the order. The prince is not Titus, but Messiah the Prince. This interpretation prevents one from breaking the basic rules of grammar, the Messiah the Prince is the main subject and this never changes. Titus is not found anywhere in the text.

Correction on your statement: In Daniels 9:25, we first deal with 7 weeks or 49 yrs, then proceeded with 62 weeks. There are two separate evens that are occurring here, not one event in 69 week period. At the end of the first 7 weeks is the appearance of King Cyrus. From the destruction of the first temple until the Anointed one or Messiah (Cyrus) there is a 49 yrs period. From Cyrus until the restoration and building Jerusalem is the remaining 62 weeks, at which the second Temple stood. Hope this clears that passage.

if you put Jesus in that 70th week then Daniel 9 25 would of had to have been written like this
There will be 7 sevens and 63 sevens till the messiah. but it does not say that does it .
it says there will be 7 sevens and 62 sevens till the messiah.
and the next verse says after 62 sevens the messiah would be cut off. that means killed. and proof of that is there's still one week left after the messiah is cut off.
the breaking of the first seal is when the anti christ is revealed. the rider on the white horse is the anti christ he is given a bow and a crown but no arrows why? because he conquers through peace not war, Daniel 11 21 confirms this it says he comes in peaceably Daniel 11 22 says he is the prince of the covenant what covenant? the only covenant spoken of in Daniel is the covenant in Daniel 9 27.
Jesus did not stop sacrifice period. he became the sacrifice that atones for sin there's a big difference.

Look up Rabbi Michael Skobac's explanation of Daniel. All of the Christian understandings are based on circular logic and misinterpretation of Hebrew. The Jews have the correct understanding. The "Anointed One" that is first spoken of is a direct reference to the Persian King Cyrus. It is not a reference to Jesus. The first seven weeks are a separate period of time, not to be added together with the sixty-two weeks that are mentioned after. It is not a period of 490 years. It is forty-nine years til Cyrus, then a different 434 year period during which the Second Temple would stand, and finally a remaining seven-year period that the Jews believe is a reference to the Jewish Roman War of 66-73 AD.

The prophecy does not end with the coming of Messiah, it only reaches 483 years, leaving the last 7 years yet to be fulfilled. But you say, why the gap? Have you ever heard of the fullness of the Gentiles:
    Rom.11:
[25] For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.
That's the reason for the gap.
[26] And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:
[27] For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.
[28] As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers' sakes.
[29] For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.
[30] For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief:
[31] Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy.
[32] For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all.
God Sir has thought of everyone in His plan of Salvation.
[33] O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!
[34] For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counseller?
[35] Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again?
[36] For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen.

There us actually a gap between seven, sixty-two, 1 week

    • @SpotterVideo
      @SpotterVideo 9 лет назад

According to the angel Gabriel, the 70 weeks prophecy lasted 490 years. Neither the angel nor Daniel mentioned a gap. Therefore the 70th week ended in the first century, based on a literal reading of God's Word.
Placing the antichrist in Dan. 9:27 is a corruption of scripture. There is no antecedent for the antichrist in chapter 9. Some have taken a covenant confirmed by Christ and turned it into a treaty broken by the antichrist. It violates the rules of interpretation.
The key events of Daniel's 70 weeks are found in the summary of Dan. 9:24.
One of the key events would be the anointing of the Messiah, by John the Baptist. Christ stated that John was the transition between the OT and the NT.
Luk_16:16 The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.
Since the anointing is a pivotal event based on the words of Gabriel and the ministry of John the Baptist is a transition point according to Christ, would it not be logical that Christ's baptism would be in the timeline of Daniel's 70 weeks?
He was cut off "after" the 69 weeks. After a week, is into the next week, which is part of the 70th week.
Based on the textual emphasis of the anointing, it would seem to be that the 70th week began at the baptism of Christ.
We know His ministry was approximately 3 1/2 years long, which is 1/2 week.
Christ confirmed a covenant (testament) with many.
The same basic phrase is used in the verse below.
Mat 26:28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.
The veil in the temple was torn showing the sealing or completion of the final perfect sacrifice
      .
Luk 23:45 And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was rent in the midst.
The abomination of desolation is revealed by parallel scripture within the Gospels.
      Dan 9:27
And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.
      Mat 23:38
Behold, your house is left unto you desolate.
      .........................................................................................
Parallel Passages reveal the abomination of desolation in Luke 21:20...
      Mat 24:15
When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand
Mat 24:16 Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:
      Mar 13:1
But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains:
      Luk 21:20
And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.
      Luk 21:21
Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto.
      .................................................................................................................
      The coming destruction of Jerusalem...
      Luk 21:22
For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.
      Luk 21:23
But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people.
      Luk 21:24
And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.
      Luk 23:28
But Jesus turning unto them said, Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not for me, but weep for yourselves, and for your children.
      Luk 23:29
For, behold, the days are coming, in the which they shall say, Blessed are the barren, and the wombs that never bare, and the paps which never gave suck.
      Luk 23:30
Then shall they begin to say to the mountains, Fall on us; and to the hills, Cover us.
      Luk 23:31
For if they do these things in a green tree, what shall be done in the dry?
Daniel's 70 weeks have been completed, based on a plain, literal reading of God's Word.

Don't know where to start to correct "his" understanding of this prophecy. I will mention one thing to answer the question about the 2000 year time between the 69th and the 70th week. The speaker said there was no prophecy concerning the period of 2000 years. We need to understand the prophecy given by Hosea in chapter 6 and verse 2. " ...we (Jews) shall be revived after 2 days (2000 years of desolation of Jews) and on the 3rd day (1000 year Millennial Kingdom) we shall live in his sight". chapter 3 verse 4 speaks of the type of desolation Jews will experience. Also in the prophecy of Joel quoted by Peter on the day of Pentecost about the last days. Peter stated that the last days began in his time with the pouring out of the gifts of the Holy Spirit and ends with the time of when the sun turns black and the moon turns blood red - at the second coming of Jesus Christ. We know that it has been around 2000 years since that day of Pentecost Peter quoted prophet Joel. The speaker mentioned Isaiah 61:1,2 did not have 2-fold prophecy, which he is wrong. This passage is only one of many other 2-fold prophecies that contain the first coming of Christ and the second coming given as one. Good news all. In a little while, all the confusion will be corrected when the Lord Jesus comes. Just make sure you are a born again (John 3:3-7) Christian. When the Lord Jesus comes to (pre trib) rapture away the Christians, only the born again ones are going up. Church age will end and then the 70th week of Daniel will start.

what "we" should do or want to do is meaningless because what God has revealed is what is going to happen. The purpose of the 70th week (trib period) is to punish the Christ rejecters and to prepare Israel for the fulfillment of the restored kingdom - after the unbelieving Jews are removed. We should desire to fulfill the expressed stated word of God and not our own desires - which is natural to us. I get it.

Maybe you can help me understand something. You write, "" ...we (Jews) shall be revived after 2 days (2000 years of desolation of Jews) and on the 3rd day (1000 year Millennial Kingdom) we shall live in his sight" I've heard others say the same thing. What causes you to insert 1000 years or 2000 years there? The only thing that I can think of would be something like "a thousand years is as a day and a day is as a thousand years" but surely you couldn't be drawing on that as it has nothing to do with this verse. Will you enlighten me on this?

    • @stevewebb1221
      @stevewebb1221 10 лет назад +1

John Rodgers In Psalm and II Peter, 1000 years as one day and so on speaks of God's timelessness. Having said that, if you look at the 7 day creation and look at the man's timeline from creation to the end of the 1000 year kingdom, there are 7000 years. We can draw a reasonable conclusion that each day is representative of 1000 years. Read Hebrews chapter 4 - 7th day speaking of God's rest day for God's people, future Millennial kingdom.
In Hosea 6, obvious thing is that those 2 days and the 3rd day is not a 24 hour day. chapter 3 speaks of desolation of Jews and their nation but did not give the timeframe. Chapter 6 does give that timeframe. Since their desolation began in 70 AD which is beginning of 5th day or 5th millennia and is still desolate nearing the end of the 6th day, or the 6th millennia. Peter on the day of Pentacost quoted Joel and declared that the last days (plural) begins with the pouring out of the Spirit and will end with the second coming of Jesus - 2 (last) days or 2000 years of the church age. The church age ends at the pre tribulation rapture. Then the final week (70th) of 70 weeks of Daniel prophetic time line will pick up again. This week is the 7 year trib period. After this week, which is at the end of the 6th millennia, Millennial kingdom begins in the 7th millennia of man's timeline. So I understand the 2 days in Hosea represents the 5th and 6th days - 2 days - 5th and 6th millennias. Then the 7th day Millennium is the 3rd day in which the Jewish Messiah Jesus restores the remnant of Jewish believers and they will live with him in the kingdom in his sight. Hope this helps you. Just make sure you are a born again (John 3:3-7) Christian - only ones going up in the rapture.

Dan 9:25
Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the COMMANDMENT to restore and to build Jerusalem UNTO THE Messiah the Prince shall be SEVEN weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.

+thetruthimpart We should remember that the promise of the New Covenant was foretold in Jeremiah 31:31-34, before the angel Gabriel gave the 70 weeks prophecy. Did Gabriel forget to mention the New Covenant already foretold by Jeremiah. Look at what Jesus said in Matthew 26:28 about the covenant with the many. It is found fulfilled at Hebrews 8:6 and it is everlasting at Hebrews 12:24 and 13:20. The most logical conclusion is that the covenant with the many in Daniel 9:27 is the same covenant with many in Matthew 26:28. There is no antichrist and no "gap" in Daniel chapter 9. The 1599 Geneva Bible was the Bible that the Pilgrims brought to America. What does it say about Daniel 9:27 ?
And he (a) shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to (b) cease, (c) and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make [it] desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.
      (a) By the preaching of the Gospel he affirmed his promise, first to the Jews, and after to the Gentiles.
      (b) Christ accomplished this by his death and resurrection.
      (c) Meaning that Jerusalem and the sanctuary would be utterly destroyed because of their rebellion against God, and their idolatry: or as some read, that the plague will be so great, that they will all be astonished at them.

(Or the building of Jerusalem or streets, after his coming within His 62 weeks or 434) years) Dan 9:26 And AFTER threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself:… ( Jesus’ ministry did continue 69 weeks or 483 years and be cut off AFTER 69 weeks/years, which would be in the 70 week and the only way, this false teaching remotely comes close to Jesus’ time is by adding the first two numbers but that is not what is says. It is because this event has not happened yet. This is speaking, of the last earthly anointed king, of Israel or the prince of the covenant. It is his part, to offer the daily sacrifices, according to Ezekiel’s vision and that temple has never been built.) Dan 11:22 And with the arms of A FLOOD shall they be overflown from before him, and shall BE BROKEN; YEA, ALSO the PRINCE of the covenant.

+thetruthimpart We have the New Covenant foretold in Jeremiah 31:31:34, before the angel Gabriel spoke to Daniel. Christ spoke of the New Covenant in His own words at Matthew 26:28. The New Covenant is now in effect at Hebrews 8:6 and is "everlasting" at Hebrews 13:20.What comes between Jeremiah 31 and Matthew 26? It is Daniel 9:27.We have the covenant with "many" in Daniel 9:27 and the covenant with "many" in Matthew 26:28.Jesus spoke of the Desolation in Matthew chapter 23, when He told them their house would be left desolate. The New Covenant is still found in effect at Revelation 12:11.

SpotterVideo You are using false interpolations, this in Daniel is not talking of a new covenant but if you read? Daniel eleven it explains Daniel 9:26-27. = Dan 11:22 And with the ARMS of A FLOOD shall they be overflown from before him, and shall BE BROKEN; yea, ALSO THE PRINCE OF the covenant. Dan 9:27 And he shall confirm the COVENANT with many for one week: and in the midst of the week HE SHALL CAUSE the sacrifice and the oblation TO CEASE, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it DESOLATE, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate = Dan 11:23 And after the LEAGUE made with him he shall work deceitfully: for he shall come up, and shall become strong with a small people. +Dan 11:28 Then shall he return into his land with great riches; and his heart shall be AGAINST holy covenant; and he shall do exploits, and return to his own land. + Dan 11:31 And ARMS shall stand on HIS PART, and THEY shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, AND SHALL TAKE AWAY the DAILY SACRIFICE, and THEY SHALL place the abomination that maketh DESOLATE

Jesus did not make a covenant for 7 years with anyone, neither Jew nor Gentile. His covenant is not limited to any time frame. And HIs ministry for 3.5 years was not based on a covenant restricted to that time frame. His covenant was established at His death, with His blood, as shown in the upper room, when they ate the bread and drank from the cup. His ministry of 3.5 years was not a covenant and only led up to that time of establishing the covenant on the cross.

I'm sure Steve has heard Chuck Missler and many other dispensationalists and he formerly was one.
What specifically do you think he is wrong about?

When we read on through the 11th and 12th chapters of Daniel, many things are being told of concerning this matter. The 12th chapter says that at that time Michael will stand up and a time of trouble will occur but even more importantly, the resurrection of the dead will occur. If the 70th week has been fulfilled, why has the resurrection not happened ? The reason can only be that the final week is still in the future.

Randy Trout Randy from 66 AD to 73 AD was the 70th week. It was the time of Jacobs trouble for Israel. It was the 7 year tribulation for Israel. That the Resurrection would occur AFTER the 7 years tribulation of Israel or AFTER the 70th week is a total misunderstanding and interpretation of what Jesus meant. To Israel at that time from 66 AD to 73 AD it meant Jesus coming in JUDGEMENT against them. To US today it means a final JUDGEMENT against ALL nations who reject Christ. That JUDGEMENT is FUTURE. So the 7 years tribulation and coming of Christ in JUDGEMENT has already occurred in the 70th week of Daniels prophesy That prophesy was for ISRAEL ONLY and it IS already happened and SEALED UP until Jesus Christ returns to gather HIS elect from ALL over the world and JUDGE the Christ rejecting nations/people. The Revelation is a SYMBOLIC emphasis on world destruction and judgement as it was in the time of Jacobs trouble. In Revelation it speaks of 3 1/2 years and another 3 1/2 years of worldwide tribulation because of the first 3 1/2 years of 66 AD to 70 AD and the other 3 1/2 years of 70 AD to 73 AD of Israels destruction. So, there is NO more 70th week. That was for ISRAEL then. There is NO MORE 7 years tribulation. That was for ISRAEL then ! From the time that Jesus rose until HE comes back in the 1st and ONLY Resurrection of the Dead we will experience on a worldwide basis what Israel experienced in 66 AD to 73 AD Revelation is a numerical symbolic narrative of Israels tribulation but we are not to understand these as being limited or not limited to any specific 7 years period. These judgements and days and times OCCUR repeatedly and will OCCUR multiple times and in increasing severity before the actual Resurrection and Judgement of the World. The 70 weeks of Daniels prophesy HAVE BEEN fulfilled through Israel! But, Micheal the Prince is STILL standing for GODS people in this present time and will continue to do so until the LORDS return. This IS TRUTH!!

A LOT of good information but what conclusions do you make? I understand you are not dispensational in regards to Dan 9, but what is your timeline of this chapter specifically?

All of the 70 weeks expired in the times of the apostles. After which, the temple was permanently set aside through destruction.

The abomination of desolation was Titus. He was one who exalted himself as a god (abomination) and destroyed Jerusalem (desolation).

Thanks for the interesting and honest discussion of the book of Daniel, chapter 9. I appreciate your insights on these most important prophesies. I'd love to hear your opinion about the idea that the "seven weeks" mentioned can also apply to the announcement to rebuild Jerusalem in 1967.

In your timeliness do you include the Jubilee year. What does the time line do when you include it to Cyrus degree?

Christ died in the Jubliee year to fulfill law. but the year is Hebrew 3785, Passover Sacrifice (Pesach) Nisan 14, 3785 = March 31, 25
Jerusalem destroyed was Hebrew year 3831 = Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur) Tishri 10, 3831 = October 3, 70 blood to the horses bridles.
