Getting into Bloodborne is simple. Just have a game plan on how you wanna build your character. For example I'm a basic player, I'm all about hitting hard. So I level up strength, health so I can take hits when I get up close and stamina so I can swing multiple times. My advice is simply be patient and build your character to compliment your play style 🤷‍♂️

I started playing BloodBorne about a month ago after putting it down when it came out. Once I could beat the Cleric Beast and be satisfied with the optional boss I moved forward into this scary yet rewarding experience. I'm in the forbidden woods area with plenty to see ahead and behind. Took a two week break recently because I lose track of time when I play this game while just exploring. Watching heyZeusHeresToast speed runs and other videos for tips on stuff I missed is helpful.

    Weapon/Armour Tips:
Starting Weapon: Pick whatever you want! But two-handed axe heavy attack is like 'Easy Mode'. Slow wind up. But sets up wide range, big damage, and knocks almost everything back.
Starting Gun: Recommend the rifle, not the blunderbuss. Countering is snappier and allows for more likely 'reflex' parries, particularly on new enemies that you don't know well yet.
Armour: Wear whatever looks the most sexy. Maybe check out elemental resistances, but in general defence is not a big thing in this game.
Weapons. Test every attack of every new weapon you get. Find what flows best for you. Also pay attention to Slash Vs. Blunt Vs. Peirce. You will find enemies that are a real slog with one type, but die very quickly against another. It's a good idea to find weapons that possess more than one attack type e.g. Saw Spear(?) has both slash and peirce attacks.

The #1 thing I can say to anyone starting any Souls game for the first time: You have to respect the game. Don’t go in just thinking you can do whatever you want, you have to meet the game on it’s terms and only once you understand it better mechanically can you start rushing things and/or being stylish.
Also, EVERYTHING IN THE GAME IS INTENTIONAL. Enemy and item placement, item description, actual game mechanics, literally everything informs the story/lore.

I am so happy that you all are giving BB some love. I absolutely adore this game, its probably my favorite game of all time, and was somewhat heartbroken when KF didn't really give it much coverage when it came out. When Andy started playing it earlier in the year, I had a blast watching the VODs, and was just as excited when Blessing (along with Imran) streamed over the break. It is so fun to watch someone you know experience it for the first time. I really hope Greg enjoys it, but I'm just glad he is giving it a chance. I echo what Blessing said that it isn't for everyone, but seeing Andy and Blessing fall in love with it day after day, made me fall in love with it all over again, and with them riding shotgun, I know Greg is in good hands. I'll be here for as much of it as possible. Please cut out the playthroughs and put them on RUclips.

Man, I love Blessing for the Bloodborne talk. I haven't seen enough people explicitly point out (to non-fans) that these games are designed as a social game. The community is meant to play the puzzle that is the lore. The game is designed to learn from other player's mistakes, look for other players advice. And if for some reason that advice doesn't help, there is someone willing to help you. It's a game designed for you to care about, and naturally that makes you want to explore past the game.

Bloodborne is my favorite game of all-time and I'm living for this discussion. So wild to see how this game continues to find new audiences. Played Bloodborne over a year ago and loved it. Then got into Dark Souls 1 and 3 getting really good at them. Then decided to come back to Bloodborne again just recently thinking it would be piss easy now. Was completely thrown off as it plays so differently and I was surprised I really struggled. It really requires slowly becoming accustomed to the controls. Some say it's easy but I reckon it is hard af.

I've played Bloodborne for over 200 hours and love it but I won't be going back until they release a 60 fps remaster. I'll gladly pay $70 for that and I think we'll get it sooner than later.
Having said that, here are some tips to get you rolling:
    (1) Go into the game with a patient mindset. Treat each death as a learning experience, not a setback. This game is all about knowledge and learning systems and mechanics and mastering them. It is not as difficult as it is made out to be once you understand what is going on behind the scenes.
    (2) Do not worry about losing blood echoes upon death. You will accumulate so many throughout the game, whatever you lose early on is negligible.
    (3) Choose Lone Survivor as your class to get a little more health. The actual class type has no impact on anything later in the game as all stats are fully customizable.
    (4) Select the Saw Cleaver and Hunter's Pistol as your starting weapons. These are the easiest weapons to use, Saw Cleaver deals +20% damage to beast type enemies, and you'll have access to all weapons later on.
    (5) The opening area is among the most difficult environments in the entire game. Do not get discouraged if you have trouble here as you are likely to get swarmed with multiple enemies. The key to combat is to engage one enemy at a time. One technique is to throw pebbles to separate individuals from the pack and "pull" enemies one at a time.
    (6) Use the environment to your advantage whenever possible while fighting enemies by getting them stuck on objects or removing line of sight from ranged enemies.
    (7) You must obtain one level of insight in order to level up your stats. You can achieve this by engaging the Cleric Beast or Father Gascoigne in combat or by finding the item "Madman's Knowledge" and consuming it. You'll be unable to level up before obtaining one insight.
    (8) Prioritize vitality and endurance early on in leveling to increase your health and stamina.
    (9) As you get more comfortable by playing, try all weapons you can and select whichever weapon has the moveset you prefer. There are no "best" weapons.
    (10) You can find a full armor set upgrade by following a path off the Great Bridge leading down some ladders into a sewer tunnel before engaging the Cleric Beast.
    (11) Fortifying your preferred weapon is the best way to increase your damage followed by increasing the associated stat. For example, the base Saw Cleaver has a 'D' rating in strength scaling and an 'E' in dexterity; increasing your strength will give a greater damage boost than increasing your dexterity. Pay attention to the stat scaling grades.
    (12) Explore, explore, explore. You will be greatly rewarded by finding consumables, equipment, and most importantly shortcuts if you explore everywhere.
    (13) It is possible to grind levels if you find yourself really feeling weak statistically. This is not necessary but it can help.
    (14) Spend your first few attempts on a new boss simply learning its moveset. Once you have a feel for an opening to attack you can start to get a strategy together.
    (15) FromSoftware loves to troll gamers with hidden enemies and traps. Pay attention to enemy placement and attack patterns. You'll quickly realize that your repeated trips through each area will shorten significantly as you memorize the location of everything and how to approach it. You can also feel free to skip things and run right past enemies.

I just got the platinum for Bloodborne a couple days ago. Yaaaay. Something I might recommend for someone that doesn't intend to play it more than once is to use a guide for the NPC's as you'll likely miss a lot on your first run going in blind. Secondly I would look up the optional areas and how to reach them. Lastly look up the item "one third umbilical cord" as its once again something you'll likely miss in one blind run.

Blessing did a really good job setting the expectations around story for Bloodborne. It's very passive. You don't get to see much of it first hand. Most of the key moments in its narrative happened prior to your character's participation in the world so it feels, to some, that the story has passed you by and in order to understand it, you do need to piece a lot of it together yourself.
In a lot of ways, it feels like you are dropped in the shoes of the character you play as. There is no narrator to get you up to speed. You kind of take on the role of a narrative archeologist, if you want to, finding threads and making inferences about what may have been. It's a very distinct and effective style for the game and I adore it personally, but I'm glad not every game takes the approach and I get why it turns some off.

CP77--Regina Jones was doing that to me. She'd go into the closing dialog for her last gig that I finished when I showed up at the next one of hers that I would find. Luckily, I don't care about trophies, so that doesn't matter much to me. What was annoying about it was that I wouldn't know what I was supposed to do on the gig I was approaching without opening up the Journal and reading it.
Much more annoying was last night in the "Dream On" gig, apparently I 'followed the cables' in the wrong direction, completely borking the whole gig, but I couldn't tell that I wouldn't be able to complete it until I got to the end. I was doing that same thing with blasting all the dead bodies and throwing them in containers, but 'Follow the Cables' and 'Neutralize the Attackers' would never pop. Had to load am autosave from an hour earlier and will follow the cables in the right direction (thanks reddit!) tonight when I try again 🤬
If only this game was finished... Any other game would've been over for me at this point, but I love what's there so much that I overlook the bugs and just cry when dreaming about what could've been when seeing all the ideas and features that were so obviously there or planned at one time but cut for time (or possibly processing power of last gen).

Cremo makes good natural products and are sold everywhere. I used the oil every day and conditioner every other day and the wash about 2 times a week, brushed it every morning and night and eventually my beard became a lot more full! I think its really about making sure your pores and face is taken care of and the hair will grow in as a result of that. Also, these products make your beard super soft and takes away itchiness which is amazing! Not sure if youll even read this, but figured id give you some tips haha

I own Sekiro, and am looking forward to Elden Ring. From Software has simultaneously elevated and destroyed gaming for me. the best games around!

All this talk about blood borne makes me want to start it up again. This time though I’ll power through the beginning hours.

Best advice for Bloodborne? Overlevel. Go to Yharnam... kill everything that exists... repeat. Then, once a new area opens, go there... kill everything that exists...repeat. I rarely fell under like 500 blood vials and bullets. Just grind and grind some more. Not only will you constantly level up, but the mechanics of the game will become second nature, so you'll never feel too overwhelmed by any boss or area. Happy hoonting! :0)

Not the kind of episode title I would expect from the Kinda Funny crew, a pleasant surprise.

Tip 1: Openly pray, hope, then DEMAND that somebody would freaking upres/fix the framerate for BB...then proceed to replay it despite your eyeballs suffering after playing the rest of the Souls-like Fromsoftware titles in 60FPS.

The beard hairs seem “fuller” when you shaved because they are all cut in the same sharp angle at the tips. Natural hairs have various tips (some splintered, some very thin, etc). That’s why it looks fuller

You love to see it folks! BB is easily one of the best games every made, good to see the KFBF community embrace it and at least give it a chance. Just have patience, don't worry about dying. The true experience/leveling up is learning the game and environment, not souls. You'll lose souls, but they'll be just as easily gained back.
    Good luck, new hunters!

Oh man, as a trophy hunter I really feel Greg's pain on his Cyberpunk/Dead Island stories.
For me it was Shadow of the Tomb Raider. The "Completionist" trophy bugged on a side quest that for some idiotic reason had two objectives that would be credited on completion. The game gave me credit for one objective but not the other, and I didn't realize it until I finished the game 30 hours later at 99.8%. Since I would have to redo literally everything in the game on a new file to get the trophy I was like nope, screw it.

Bloodborne needs a 60 fps update. As soon as it happens, I'll replay it.

    • @Mike_L.
      @Mike_L. 3 года назад

Sadly, the amount of re-work needed to make the game run at 60fps pushes it out of the realm of a simple update. Hopefully it'll get a remake (fingers crossed it's not $70).

As a watcher of this channel, it's so fascinating to hear them talk about Bloodborne. For Greg's playthrough, I would want him to have either Maximillion Dude or Vaati to be there with him to give him the best experience of the game overall.

    1. You will die. A lot. Try to not let it get to you.
    2. Learn something everytime you die. Memorize patterns and positions. Enemies are always in the same areas and do the same things.
    3. No heroics. Start by trying to deal with one enemy at a time. If you are overwhelmed, there's no shame in running away.

Bloodborne was overlooked in goty discussions in 2015 and I dont think in hindsight anyone would argue that it wasn't easily goty, mgs5 would be a close second that year for me, while witcher 3 feels like with age its glamor wears off.

So with hair its thicker the closer you get to the root. So when you shave yh it is thicker. But after few days it does wear down back to the original thickness and go back to how it used to be.
