I've always thought this was his best vocal ever, he's at his peak here. His voice is at its best.
Thanks Marilyn, yes I worked on his voice here a lot, because the original take it was full of mic artifacts so I cleaned it up, consider it that has been recorded in 1973/1974. Thanks for your comment. =)
@@bariloche1988 How do you happen to have these recordings? Were you the sound engineer?
@@MarilynBesasie haha..a friend of mine sent it to me for a remaster, he is Elton's fan and he like how I mix and remaster music...
@@bariloche1988 Well, you certainly did an excellent job! Fantastic work. Thank you.
@@MarilynBesasie😃 👍
His talent is unmatched
I can't sing lead vocals to save my life. But in 1978, I played this song as a piano solo as a senior in highschool. It's my only highlight moment. I'm good 😊
His voice and his pitch perfect ability was so underrated! And to imagine, he never wanted to sing, only to play the piano!
For me Elton John is the only artist in the world that could sell the same volume of album if they were realised as just him and a piano.
By far the greatest Super Star that ever lived.
Elton the best!! Thanks for your comment Gary! ;)
I don't know if he could sell the same, but from a musical point of view the result would be even better. Rock of the Westies unplugged, for example, is much better.
yeah elton john beep beep!
I think of myself a very fortunate man. Take this song for instance... The 70's turned out to be a terrific time for great song wriiting.
Probably my favorite vocal of all time - Elton at his peak. Perfection.
The best! Thanks for you comment ! 😃👍
Fabulous. Elton fan for years and years. I’m old😂 If you like Elton and just his piano, check out his live concert in Edinburgh, 1976. Just incredible. Voice pitch perfect and piano playing superb.
Thanks Denise, I really love his concert at the Central Park NY 80's with millón+ people there, awesome Elton!
@@bariloche1988 Trust me the Edinburgh concert is on a different planet from the Central Park one also not spoiled by the ridiculous Donald Duck nonsense....Just Elton and. Piano as I said on a different planet .
You are absolutely right about his Edinburg concert. absolutely the best ever concert. Wished I was there. His voice was pitch perfect and he was sexy.
Edinburgh he was at his absolute peak and was no doubt his best show ever, just EJ and his piano bursting with talent, he just released his Blue Moves album that year which was incredible, different but incredible and then kinda down hill from there for his song writing, very commercialized songs, etc., 1969-1976 were his peak song writing years hands down, then lots of drugs and alcohol until rehab in 1989, he actually rehabbed in my home town of Park Ridge, IL at Lutheran General Hospital near Chicago by chance, I was born there also, at concerts after that when I saw him in Chgo area he would say Chgo has a special place in his heart due to his rehab here, I did see him play in 1976 when I was 15 at the old Chgo Stadium and his performance was the best ever, he was bopping around the stage, jumping on his piano, kicking over his piano bench, I remember specifically he played "Grow some funk of your own" and he rocked the house down, what a jam!!! He's the reason I taught myself piano and I still play several EJ songs 40+ years later....I can tell you one thing, you won't hear lady gaga songs on the radio in 40, 50, 60 or 100 years from now like you will of EJ, he's a once in a life time and we're lucky we witnessed it!
@@ronaldtant3196 I have to check that concert out but the best I've see so far is at the "Playhouse" and my favorite song was "Someone saved my life tonight".
Increadible Elton's piano playing. Especially after 4:36
Bernie and Elton had a synergy that was magic. Like Paul and John, who were lesser solo than the sum of their parts.
One of the mist underrated songs ever written.
Sounds so pure and perfect. It would be nice if they released a bunch of Elton stuff like this. Stripped down, still so good.
Pictured with the late Russ Regan of Uni Records. Great upload, thanks!
ty, was wondering who the guy was.
@@jimanders6666 Sure looks like Howard cosell to me :)
How grateful we all are to have this. Prime time for Elt in voice especially 73 to 76 he was the by far the greatest rockstar in the world. Thanks for this post All of Caribou like this would be nice Hint hint
His articulation when singing is so interesting: he swallowed the “from” in “from falling”
One of the best piano arrangements, in my opinion. Varied, incisive, impetuous and very structured without unnecessary frills even in the virtuosity. Exemplary is the crescendo from min. 3:20 to the chorus. The next track on the Caribou album, Ticking, is an even more spectacular masterpiece.
Wonderful! I like this even better then the final version.
Thanks Lorenzo, happy you liked it! ;)
This is the final version, it's a rip off of piano and vocals tracks. You can hear backing vocals in the background plus
I love Elton and just his piano. Nothing better
This track - and the piano part - is the reason I switched from guitar to piano at age 12. The rest is history.. ;)
No one ever so complete! Composer, pianist, singer.....fan of tim since 1972.....
I can't light no more of your darkness,
All my pictures seem to fade to black and white,
I'm growing tired and time stands still before me,
Frozen here on the ladder of my life,
Too late to save myself from falling,
I took a chance and changed your way of life,
But you misread my meaning when I met you,
Closed the door and left me blinded by the light,
Don't let the sun go down on me,
Although I search myself, it's always someone else I see,
I'd just allow a fragment of your life to wander free,
But losing everything is like the sun going down on me,
I can't find the right romantic line,
But see me once and see the way I feel,
Don't discard me just because you think I mean you harm,
But these cuts I have they need love to help them heal,
Don't let the sun go down on me,
(Don't let the sun),
Although I search myself, it's always someone else I see,
I'd just allow a fragment of your life to wander free,
(Don't let the sun),
But losing everything is like the sun going down on me,
Don't let the sun go down on me,
(Don't let the sun),
Although I search myself, it's always someone else I see,
I'd just allow a fragment of your life to wander free,
(Don't let the sun),
But losing everything is like the sun going down on me.

Much better than the final version!
I think this would work really well with Someone Saved My Life Tonight.

Don't need to lie about the recording. You can say the truth: this is the original song's tracks isolated. No worries, we're gonna listen to it anyway. It's wonderful.
Who is lying ?? The song has been remastered it by me. That's it. Enjoy it
@@bariloche1988 Well, you're right, I should have said 'misleading'. I think the term 'rare' is inappropriate, as these are not 'rare takes' or versions, but isolated tracks. Thanks though for uploading. They're wonderful.
One man and his piano...with an amazing vocal ...it’s all that’s needed 👏👏👏
The best! Thanks Gary!
Excellent, as mentioned previously Eltons voice is it's very best on this track, you have done a great job here
Thank you
Thanks for the comment Angus! Great song! 😃👍
And to think he hated it and insisted it wasn’t included on the album.
Superb ...and abeautiful song
Thank you for this. Bravo
Elton John is such a talent 🤩
Perfection!
Grazie per queste perle per piacere non fermarti
thanks uploader
Thank you thank you thank you for this.... Its like his single vocal track cut from the original track.. Its perfect
The Best demo.
It's not a demo. It's the vocal and piano tracks from the single.
Just incredible
Thanks enjoy it!!
Phantastic mix and work done by you. As an Elton-Fan for more than 50 years I wonder if you could also present a similar version of the song "Levon" from my favourite album Madman across the Water? Thanks again, a happy new Year from a guy in Germany
cára vc renexeu o baú muito SHOW parabens
Iuv that demo got 2 have it in my collection
Love the you let it play all the way through until you can hear him let up on the pedal.
Carl Wilson on backing vocals.

Uno de los mejores temas de Elton ,y aquí está en su mejor momento vocalmente hablando... Fantástico!!!!!
Another cut from the fox archives: 1974: 99.7 the fox.
Awesome, where did you get the stems?
Who is the man with Elton John?
Russ Regan from UNI Records (RIP)
Who's in this pic with Elton?
I believe its Russ Regan, record producer
Who's the other gentleman in the photo?
I’m not sure but ithink it’s Russ Regan, a record executive who helped ej get to the troubadour. I think it might be him. Nice guy I met him once. Not crazy about tha5 pic
He is Elton John ! Nothing else to say!!?
