I'd take the Geo-4 over the DSR, and my main reason would be, because I will NEVER use a marker that does not have a tapered bolt tip ever again if I can help t. Tapered bolt tips help reduce the chance of the top of the bolt clipping and taking a bite out of the bottom of the ball that sits above the breech when the bolt cycles. I do honestly like the looks of the DSR more tho, but at the end of the day, I imagine that both markers will shoot comparatively well and on target when at their best performance, but for me, it's which marker is least likely to cause paint to break, and the GEO-4 and it's tapered bolt tip wins for me.
and btw, what am I doing with my life not using the freak xl or dye barrels you ask? I'M USING A FIELD ONE ACCULOCK KIT, which is far less likely to break fragile paint that enters the back/insert because it's highly tapered so the paintballs have a very smooth transition from breech to barrel MWAHAHAHA!!!!!!!
Hey, Jake. Just wanted to say great job! In the past (IMO) you were too defensive and came off like a bit of an azz, and personally not my fav, but in this video I have to give you a lot of credit (mad props!). You were funny, knowledgeable, and admitted when the Geo 4 either had a better feature or something positive to note. Also, you summed it up pretty well with "it's all personal preference"; these high-end markers are all so close in performance and how they shoot. It mostly comes down to how you like the details and of course the price.
i literally just sold my DSR and bought the exact same color GEO4 from lonewolf paintball! The DSR was nothing but a headache. My Spire IR would not stay secure in the DSR feedneck and I had it tightened all the way. The plastic piece you have to turn to get to the battery is junk. After turning it once it already tore a bit. The plastic lever on the asa is garbage and unreliable. I can not tell you how many times it unlatched during a match and I'd lose air. As for the triggers, I actually like having the adjustment options the GEO 4 provides. I played with the GEO4 saturday and sunday this past weekend and had 0 issues and it was shooting ropes! Its the first gun I've ever bought brand new out of the case and i couldnt be happier! I'll NEVER buy another DSR again. During World Cup the tip of the DSR bolt came off and jammed my feed and caused me to lose the match because it was down to me and one other guy and the DSR just stopped firing. Waste money on Dye markers if you want to but their quality has gone downhill.
The only thing I cant stand about these Dye guns (I own an M2) are the grips. They are the worst design ever. I think it would be faster to find an allen key, remove 2 screws from each grip, and then pull the panels off then it is to remove the toolless grips from these guns. 90% of your time is making sure you're tugging and pulling in the right direction to make sure you dont tear them. Oh and if you dont have long finger nails, good luck. I know you dont really need to get inside the grip frame as often, but as someone who loves to tinker and meticulously clean their guns, this is a huge annoyance. Huge Dye fan, but they need to figure something out with their grip system.
Ive tested a few barrels I found that alot of the times they are not same bore all the way threw & can get stuck. Where as high quality barrel can actually be smaller bore & larger paint will fit in a smaller bore of a high quality barrel

Pe Fanboys be like* but naw. Your right.😂I already have the Boomstick but I want the Geo 4 so bad.😭Pe's quality and reliability are so consistent.👌🏾if you have common sense it's difficult not to like at least one Pe marker at least once in one's pb career.
@@foolishcreations2259 no there is not, you're right. But I was only correcting your statement lol. Although this guy was wrong. I've never had an M3+/s so I never had an issue with my DSR asa or thought it was bad. It's just different from PE and Luxe.
The asa system on the dsr is bad, and the grips on it are horrible to remove, you tear the rubber line in the middle appart so quick. But it shoots really nice and sounds nice and you don't really have eyes to clean with that eye pipe👍 Geo4 asa is way better! And the grips are way easier to remove, but I sucks to clean the eyes on the geo4 🙈
These two don't really compare in many ways, the DSR/DSR+ should stick to being compared to the markers in the price point like the Shocker AMP, 170r, etc.
@@MOVINGTOATL I agree that price doesn't say jack about a paintball marker, but it is a pretty reliable starting point when comparing one to another. Especially when comparing 1 company's marker to another company's marker. I wouldn't ever compare an Azodin to any PE, Dye, DLX or even an Empire marker. Axodin markers should be compared to broken nerf guns, lol.
Jake forgot to say how weak the battery connector is on the dsr. They break all the time and a pain to change. Oh and shot both and the geo is more efficient than the dsr.
No one ever says it but for the price of the Geo4 it annoys me that the eyes are still using a wire. So many high end markers don't have to worry about those cables anyone. ANNOYING and cheap on PEs part.

Dye offers a "Flex" bolt for $50 that comes with a tapered soft tip.

Purely aesthetic but I like the red of the DSR.
Was surprised y'all didn't talk about the upgraded bolt system for the DSR and the Gen 4 Eye pipe.

I have all the upgrades and updates for my dsr and it ain't bad but nothing over the top
