My top 1 is Benedict's story. I like the social class difference and I love Sophie... 🥰
I think I am most excited for the show to adapt Benedict and Sophie because I already love Benedict so much. I can't wait to see who is cast as Sophie!!

Francesca and Michael😍 their second epilogue was just so so touching 🥰
I love them so much. The most emotional of the books, in my opinion.
Their second epilogue gave me hope after my own battles with infertility and miscarriage. And yes, I have a little one with a J name now too. 😀

@@ColleenDelaney Thank you! It was a few years of rough road, but I finally had my daughter when I was 41. The J name was just a coincidence though, not inspired by the 2nd epilogue. My spouse and I both have J names, so we had to carry on with the tradition. 🤣
Hyacinth’s book was totally my favorite! Love the mystery, love the characters, just so much fun.

Thanks for a great discussion! Anthony and Kate's book was also my favorite, but the rest of my list was very different than yours, which is fun... so many different opinions. 😊 My 2nd favorite was Benedict's and yes, I also find the actor portraying him just adorable so I am excited for his story in the show!

Benedict's story is my favorite but I also loved Francesca and Gregory's story
I liked Hyacinth's book. I loved Gareth. He was charming and bold and a lot of it was to compensate for a father who didn't love him, something he struggled with. I enjoyed watching him overcome that for the sake of being happy with Hyacinth.
My favourite is Francesca or Hyacinth. I adore Hyacinth as a character. My least favourites are Eloise or Benedict.
My husband recently bought me the book series as I love the show. I read Romancing Mr. Bridgerton so far. I adored it since I love Pen. I’m back at the beginning now with The Duke and I. I’m excited to see what my ranking will be. I am looking forward most to Benedict and Francesca’s books. :)
It's so wild that we read the same 8 book series and had such vastly different reading experiences! Francesca's book was one of my least favorites and Hyacinth's was super highly ranked. Michael's inner turmoil was really grating on me by the time they finally got together. I'm also a sucker for a good heist! Add some premium Lady Danbury content to that and you have the makings of one of the best Bridgerton books.
I've already watched season 2 of the show and I'm very curious about how they handle the timing in Collin and Penelope's romance for season 3. Something like 10 years are supposed to have passed between books 3 and 4, making Penelope an "old maid" and letting Gregory and Hyacinth grow up enough to be age appropriate romantic interests. 🤔
“To Sir Phillip, With Love” is definitely my favourite of the Bridgeton series. I think Sir Phillip is a flawed hero who is to some degree healed by the love and the amazing joy Eloise brings to him and his children. I believe it is a thoughtful and nuanced book. Love, love, love it!
Hyacinth's book was my favourite. I liked an offer from a gentleman also.

I have watched quite a few of the ranking videos and there was one who's favorite book was Hyathinths and one who's favorite book was Eloise's.
So they definitely exist.
For me personally, my favorite book is Benedict, but favorite couple has to be Colin and Penelope.
now that season 2 of Brigerton is out... what is your opinion of the show' s version of the "Viscount who loved me"?
I did like the season - it's obviously very different from the book, but as long as I'm entertained, I don't mind too much on changes (Tom Bombadil is my favorite part of FOTR but I still love the movie, lol). I did not like the Eloise/ Penelope plot line though, and I think it leaned the show away from romance and towards soap opera.

I had high hopes for the Netflix season 2. I’m just flabbergasted.
@@Feebysworld It was definitely a lot different from the book. I still enjoyed watching it (probably because I read the book a while ago so I wasn't expecting it to be exact). I was very ho-hum over the Eloise/Penelope stuff though. I don't quite understand where the show is going with all that. I missed the storms plot line, though. I really liked that about the book.
@@ColleenDelaney what's left of Romancing Mister Bridgerton when the show switched Eloise with Colin in the actual discovery of Lady Whistledown. I will really miss him following her to the church and everything that follows. Not to mention they ruined, for the time being, a great friendship between those girls : (
@@lindamjustice I know!! I don't mind in adaptations when they change stuff, but I did not like that plot AT ALL. It felt so out of character for both Eloise and Penelope and I have no idea what they are going to fill that season with? The only thing I can think of is that we could have Francesca's first relationship alongside it?

Viscount who loved me is my favorite. Loved the dog and when they played Pall Mall. My least favorite is when he was wicked. It was heartbreaking to read of miscarriages. Don't know if I could read it again.
My favourite couple is definetly Gregory and Lucy. I love both their charcters individually as well as together. Lucy is just so relatable aund Gregory...What can I say I like the nice men and can't really understand these tortured, rakish boys like Anthony or Michael😂 that's probably why i love Gregorys book most. He is such a sweetheart. I am also a sucker for friends to lovers which is why Pen and Colin are probably my number two.
I didn't read the whole series and it was years ago so much of this is memory but from what I remember I really did not like Penelope and Colin's book. I didn't care for Penelope in any of them. I was disappointed in Benedict's book. I love Cinderella-like romances and felt let down. I liked Eloise's story though I don't like her in the series. I didn't finish Francesca's book, that's as far as I got, and this was so many years ago when it first came out and now my books are all boxed up and I m not sure where it is. My second favourite is The Duke and I. I loved the series. And like you, my favourite is The Viscount Who Loved Me. I've watched the first two episodes and waiting to get together with a friend who has also read the books, to watch more episodes.
First of all, girl I’m so sorry. I was also looking forward to this season as TVWLM is one of my favorites in the series and they changed soooo much. Upon reflection though I don’t hate it. Just wish they followed the book more closely.
Now that we’ve gotten that out of the way: It’s in his kiss is my favorite because I ADORE 🥰 Hyacinth. She’s like Eloise on crack lol 😂 and her love story sort of reminded me of like Rapunzel and Flynn in the sense that it felt like an adventure book and I love midnight heists. It was just sooo cute and I had a lot of fun with it and also it felt like a throwback to the Duke & I which was cute. I loved Gareth as well because he’s so charming and also he’s related to Lady Danbury. Enough said.

This isn’t to say I didn’t enjoy the ones at the bottom. They were all great, I just loved them in this order.
I didn't hate the series - it felt like fanfiction to me: my favorite characters with a different plot, lol. I'm glad to see people love Hyacinth! I would feel bad if no one liked her book.

By now, we know that the series did NOT follow the book. I was so disappointed in some of the things they left out about Kate and the storms, in which was essential in their relationship building. Anthony actually gets down the aisle with Edwina. And you know...all that mess hitting the fan. But I took the show for what it was and got past my disappointment. But I loved this book and the Duke and I and of course Penelope and Colin's story. Francesca's book was so erotic I had to stop at several points to just breath. Im looking forward to the recast of her character so we can get to know her. The rest were good. And I was so disappointed in Eloise's book. She deserved better but the book Eloise and the show Eloise are so different. That one was disappointing. Of course the show will play around with the plots to make it interesting and they may change a lot of things but they will end up with who they are supposed to end up with.
Yes the show definitely felt like fanfiction, and I'm ok with it? I think going forward I'm going to approach the show as more "takes place in the Bridgerton universe" than the actual book plot lines. I did think that the show is different in terms of what "viewers" want vs. what "romance readers" want. Romance readers don't want to watch the hero almost marry the heroine's sister, lol.

Both, but was introduced to the books from the show…TSPWL and The Duke and I suffer from the most egregious depictions of rape, that truly shocked me. I couldn’t really get over it to really enjoy the stories. TSPWL was really just so dark and so strange. The romantic “hero” is my least favourite, and made me so disappointed for Eloise’s story…
I LOVE LOVE LOVE Eloise. The book sucks. I hope they change it for the series.

On the Way to the Wedding is my least favorite. It's just not memorable to me. An Offer from a Gentleman and It's in his Kiss are probably my favorites.
Sadly they didn’t do the wedding night in the series 🥲🥲 in the second season

Lol I am not super surprised that they changed that, only because it was similar to Daphne and Simon's plot. I still liked the show - it was like a completely different plot with characters I love, kind of like fanfiction lol.
