- Hey, guys! Got a quick hardware session in with my new Arturia Keystep Pro! just received this thing not too long ago and so far, I am really loving it! The workflow seems pretty straight forward, but I am definitely super excited to keep exploring its features. 😁
Anyways, for this jam I am using the Keystep Pro to sequence and control all of the synths. I have the drum track sequencing the Volca Drum; 2 melodic tracks for the SE-02 and JU-06; and then an arp track for the SH-01a.
All of the audio is sent to the Behringer XENYX802 mixer and then recorded using my new ZOOM H6! 🙂
Alright, well I hope you guys enjoy the video. Thank you guys so much for watching, littlebigsynths. 👊😁

Hope you enjoyed this quick jam! I am so excited to finally have the Arturia Keystep Pro in my studio. 😁 Please stay tuned for more Keystep Pro videos real soon. 👍
You have no idea how long I’ve waited to see this. I’ve been watching your channel for a long time. I, too, work with some Volcas, Boutiques, and pocket operators..with the original Keystep and Beatstep Pro (kinda how I found your channel in the first place)..and when the Keystep Pro was announced, I knew you’d do some dope stuff with it!! I’m eventually gonna pick one up (I’m also eyeing the MicroFreak and DB Impact, so it’s tough decision time) and pair it with the Beatstep Pro. Then I’d have full control over pretty much all of my boutiques and Volcas in one spot. I hope you’ve got something like that planned for a future video. That’d be super interesting to see!!
Thanks for recording it LBS. Excellent usage of the Keystep Pro. It pulls all your little synths together very nicely. Thumbs up from me.
Well nice 👍🏻
Realy Gold, your sound is cool, this midi controller is great
Sounds so good man, I love your composition and sound choice. Great stuff!
Thank you! 😁 Glad you enjoyed it!
Nice work. Your jams are a sweet treat.
I really love this!
Thank you! 😊
Everything sounds great! It’s a really nice arrangement, too! 👍
Thank you very much! 😊
Nice jam! Thanks for the session diagram.
Nice setup! I love the sh-01a arpeggios. Great jam as usual. greetings!
Great stuff as usual mate!!👍👍
dope! love your setups =)
Lovley tune sounds nice! 👍🏼cool setup, am considering similar, so I have minilogue, Volca fm, JU-06a and now really want another boutique :p either D-05, SH-01A, JP-03, SE-02 etc? Hmm. anyways keep up the Great live synth action!
Nice tune! Don't you miss having the volume knob on the front on the Boutiques? Sure it can be fixed on a mixer.. but still...
That sounds good! It’s cool to see them all running like that with the Keystep.
Do you ever lose voices or have you noticed any limitations yet?
Sounds great, my dude. How do you like the keystep pro?
Thanks, man! 🙂
Dude. I love the Keystep Pro. So many useful features for creating, editing, and performing. I particularly love its polyphonic sequencing capabilities.... makes it so easy to throw in some chords progressions into my jams. 👍
The only downsides that I see at the moment: No Volva Sample compatibility. 😭 The drum sequencer uses note data to trigger sounds over a single MIDI channel. (Volca Sample uses 1 midi channel per sound). The Beatstep Pro was able to do this after an update... so I'm hoping the same thing happens for the Keystep Pro.
The other thing is, when using the drum sequencer... you are only left with 3 melodic tracks. Which is usually just enough for some minimal jams (bass line, melody, chords). For me, not too big of a deal. But for some, it may be a bit limited. BUT you can always just use the built in sequencer of the drum machine, freeing up that 4th melodic track... so not neccesarily a major limitation.
Anyways, it's awesome and think it is a great tool for hardware jammers. 👍 lol
@@littleBIGsynths The Midi configurations on the Sample are probably the most frustrating thing about it. Do you have the Pajen firmware installed on it?
Hi, for budget reason I would like to do the same thing with a Beat step pro and a generic midi keyboard. Do you think it would work? Thanks
How did you get the Drum track to control the Volca Drum? I can’t work it out
Hi! Did you figure it out already? Sorry for the late reply?
littleBIGsynths no problem! Not yet, but I’m guessing it’s something to do with which midi mode on the Volca?
Yes! Just uploaded a tutorial. Go check it out when you get a chance and let me know. 🙂👍
