i'm a computer programmer but what I really love to do is to play the guitar. Unfortunately, due to the nature of my work, I spend almost the whole day writing code and no time for the guitar. So before hitting play, I was like "Who the hell is this Zaza guy?"... which turned into "Nice melodies; pretty good player". At 2:31, that became "Wow...he's pretty damn good."... and at 2:41 I said "WHAT THE F**K WAS THAT?", and listened to that arpeggio run about 10 times. Then I just stopped watching, stared at my guitar, and sulked.

I've been missing out on a lot of great guitar playing from a very gifted musician. Don't want to start the comparison game, because there are just too many really great guitarist on RUclips. Neil, when i was 13 i learned most of this song. it took me a few days and hours of trying but i finally got it and played it everyday.. now i'm 15 almost 16 and i play this song EVERY TIME i pick up my guitar, and that's usually everyday. i hope one day i can successfully make my own songs so that i can give a young guitarist inspiration like you did for me. it would mean a lot if you replied, but i just thought you should know that i don't see this song as just a song (:

I met Neil back in the early 90's when he did a gig in Buffalo. I can't remember how we met- if I opened up for him or how I knew to go to the show (Mike Varney article?), but as a local musician I was allowed to hang out before the show backstage, and he was the coolest guy. We had a great time and he invited me to come hang with him in Ohio if I ever came to play. And with him I knew it wasn't BS because he gave me his real home phone number- I called and we talked for a while. He told me he'd take me out to lunch, never got there, but he was a genuinely kind guy. So glad he's doing well, he deserves it. Carvin (Kiesel) rocks! I've got some and they are great!
