    1-2-4 scoring missions are among my favorite types of missions for wargames. It's simple but it works like a charm.

    Miniatures look great! Well painted to represent them relative factions. The rules seem to have shaped up nicely!

    first time seeing the game being played. interesting a lot of mechanics taken or inspired by other games. Token types and movement of Star wars legions and pull out of bag like bolt action. i'm also liking the d10 dice over the d6.

      That was intentional . Matthew mentioned he took a lot of inspiration and rules from game mechanics he enjoys. Some of the mechanics are not a direct 1 to 1 copy but the function / idea is very similar .

    Seeing Dave in videos again and actually teaching the new game is top notch enjoyment! I still dont love the token pull system but the minis for this game are so cool (especially the Immari) That being said i have never used a token system so maybe its fine and i am just an old man yelling at clouds.

      A buddy and I play Bolt Action and it uses that mechanic too, pulling order dice from a bag to determine turn order

      @@empyreal_lord how do you find it? Does it change strategy much or mess with games where like a couple pulls swing the game in 1 way or another?

      @@erikbraun473 We both find that going later is preferable; a unit that hasn't acted yet can always choose a Down reaction to mitigate incoming fire, units that act early don't have that option so can end up getting Pinned or killed off if your opponent decides to focus on them.
      Beyond that, it does reward a more flexible & predictive style since you don't know when or how much you'll get to act before your opponent can respond--if you need more than one unit to act to pull off a maneuver no guarantee your opponent won't figure out what you're up to and act to counter before unit 2 or 3 can act. I like that *much* more than the 40k full turn style.

    I do like the concept of the "pity boost". Comeback mechanics are always neat. I do wonder what it would be like if each player got the same number of activations each round even when units were off the board (so the player with less units would be able to activate them more). That's a concept I'm experimenting with for my own (albeit very rough) wargame system.

    I absolutely love that Ravaged Star uses a token system for turn order. I've been playing Star Wars Legion lately and I realize how much it speeds up the gameplay by removing some of the executive decision making during the round.

    I have been eagerly waiting to see what the sorceror can do and it did not disappoint. This was a great batrep for the game! Awesome job guys.
    I like that when you shoot your own guys, you don't have the risk of triggering all your extra *critical* rules. That would be a real "feels bad" moment if you could get extra reaping, armour piercing, etc, on your own guys 😅 Maybe I'm alone in that, but playing necromunda has me traumatized from friendly fire.

    This game streamlines a lot of the pain points of all other wargames. Looks great! I'm not sure if I love how the dice throws are resolving at the moment, though. The whole AP + AP or having to resolve individual dice... I think there's room for some improvement there.

    Question: so you have to roll to see if you get rid of shaken when you activate, but you don't get to roll it if you use a boost token to activate?
    Makes it feel like a slight waste of the boost, though I get that the guaranteed pass on getting rid of it can be very powerful in specific scenarios.

    I think these minis are amazing, and the game concept sounds fun. I'm not thrilled with the activations, I don't mind a token pool, but I prefer how Legion does it. I know some people will love all the numbers in game, but my brain just can't keep plus with it all.

      He did technically leave for a bit, flew a few hours, stayed a bit, but he is back home now.

    First off thanks great to see the play test. How much sugar did you give them before the game? Love the rules easy play game runs smooth, one thing I would prefer the words on the tokens instead of the symbols in english an yep that is why you use the symbols, maybe symbols on one side and words on tokens on the other, look forward to the release...

    I love the idea of this game the only thang I would change would have changed is that even if you get the boost you still have to draw from the bag randomly.just my opinion.

    I think it looks like a lot of fun, I like how it’s all the same dice rules,the minus i to the armor. I think it makes the game a lot easier. But there’s a lot more to keep track of, which could be good or could be bad, I’m feeling like I need to keep a pencil and a piece of paper nearby for the activations, and the boost. Love the fact that it’s simplified in the way, you don’t have to deal with invulnerable saves, and by adjusting the dice damage by one or two it really cuts out that whole section. As this game goes forward, I’m a big fan. As a 40 K player, I’m tired of invulnerable saves and, that only take a limited amount of damage per phase.(I have not progressed into 10th yet, my Negron player refuses to give up ninth void dragon rules. Lol.).. I know he’s just protecting his baby. Lol but on a serious note, I do like how the rules work you’ve designed a system that increases or decreases the arm penetration based on one single die roll and I do like that it makes more sense. All in all I think you’ve done a really good job with the gaming aspect.👍🏼

    Are you actually selling these miniatures? Because I’ve been looking and not easy to find? Are you still in the production stage?

      You have to get in on their pledge manager when it's open. The game is still in production. I think it's more about making sure the purchasers are there before committing a huge investment. Many of their videos on ravaged star will have links to the pledge manager.

    So Veil Touched are very obviously inspired by the Chaos Space Marines but are there going to be equivalents of the other chaos stuff like world eaters, or death guard, or demons. Just wondering cause I'm assuming that the Veil is somewhat different from Chaos and the warp

      I don't think so. The mini line was originally just envisioned as cool proxies, but is now growing into its own universe and game system. I would expect every new faction to be less similar to 40k stuff.

      @@benn1181 yeah that makes sense though sense the imari are essentially space dwarves and they have talked about adding a vampire elf faction It seems to me that they may follow a similar format to 40k in adapting fantasy races and tropes to the sci-fi setting.

    Very nice game. Lovw to see more ravaged star in my feed. But Dave really lacked the long range firepower and ap for that ambasador and luck in token draw😅. Redeploy(really felt underwhelmimg for meele units in this map with low cover)

    The models look cool. I'd love to be in, but I just can't get past the random token pull to want to invest in this game. Sitting there doing nothing whilst your opponent moves multiple units in succession isn't fun to me, especially if you really need to do something critical to counteract your opponent but can't due to some bad random token pull.

    Maybe each player has a bag with their own tokens, and each gets a turn to pull a token so it's more fair on activation

    So 7:33 shows when the game starts to get to complicated for a game that sold/sells itself as trying not to be complicated. Can you ditch some of these modifiers? Please?
