    Super Pattu Sir, Expect panna video va pottuteenga..And also liked your statement "Inspire aagurathuku nalla vazhi Payam", Well said. Payam illana kadaisi varaikum start pannave mattom. Expecting Child Education planning like this. Going to do this in my own XL, but one doubt as you mentioned that if the 6% inflation & 10% return is low then what will be the moderate percentage i can put for inflation & return? Shall i include my monthly PF(employer+employee contribution) amount as monthly investment amount when calculating this?

    • @srinathpadmanabhan
      @srinathpadmanabhan 4 года назад

      No one can really say. Play with the numbers and see. I tried inflation at 6,7 & 8- for 8 % , the investment required is too high for me. So I am keeping it at 7%. Yes you can include PF as well since we get the money during retirement

  • @tamilaudio3936

    Hello Sir, Just got the time to watch the video. Excellent content. I already did my calculation from your English videos. I am 8 years away from financial independence. Regarding inflation, I strongly agree with you..! However, I did a small case study in my home town (Almost Village). Expenses in Village is exponentially small in comparison with expenses in city like Chennai. Also, I am from Agricultural family. My parents still do farming. Their expenses are extremely in control(Increasing very slightly each year though) what ever the GDP of the country. After the study I understood that, India has two kind of economy. One is GDP based economy (City). The other one is farming based economy (Village). Luckily in India still many people does farming. So, the other way to manage inflation apart from investing more is doing farming..! :-) Interested to know your thoughts on it.

      @Tamil Audio - Great point to overcome inflation, other option from my sense is we can reduce/zero our wants and plan only for needs. we can move to place where to drive our passion driven career (agriculture, teaching, etc.) This would lead happy retirement at the same time peace and happiness which we cant buy from monetary aspect.

    Sir, i have been following all your videos for quite a long time and very impressed. But the question i have is why do you use 6% inflation for all the years and why cant we use real returns in calculations. Always an healthy retirement investment thats properly managed should beat the inflation by a margin of 3-4% ...I believe even some of the debt funds can beat the inflation and provide minimum 2-3+ percent real return.And good equity funds can beat inflation by a min of 4+ percent of real return. A separate emergency fund should take care of expenses in case of market downturn.

    • @pattufreefincal
      @pattufreefincal  3 года назад

      We can use real returns but we first need an inflation assumption for that and it is the same thing! I do not share your enthusiasm about real return margins of 3-4% and certainly not from debt. Not without taking risks
