People TOTALLY get a rush at haggling. It took me so long to realize that about my stepdad, but he LOVED it. It was like a sport for him, and what he "won" in any given deal was less important than the deal itself. Once he got a sapphire pinky ring at a tony department store just because the guy at the jeweler counter haggled with him, and he wore that thing like a trophy for the rest of his life lol lookin like a retired mafia guy an sh!t. He tried it at the stationery counter, too, but that lady wouldn't begin to budge on them Montblancs.
Just think, you can make somebody's whole day by letting them get that tchotchke or table lamp for $1 less, how fun is that.

If Kwanza isn’t real neither is Christmas. Both man or woman made holidays.
The origin of Christmas is a blend of religious, cultural, and historical traditions that have evolved over centuries. Here’s an overview of its roots:
    Religious Origins:
    1. Christian Celebration of Jesus’ Birth:
    • Christmas is primarily a Christian holiday commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ.
    • The Bible does not specify the exact date of Jesus’ birth. Early Christians did not celebrate his birth, focusing instead on his death and resurrection.
    • By the 4th century, the Roman Catholic Church designated December 25 as the Feast of the Nativity. This date was likely chosen to align with existing pagan festivals and ease the conversion of non-Christians.
    Pagan Influences:
    1. Winter Solstice Festivals:
    • Long before Christianity, many cultures celebrated the winter solstice around late December.
    • Saturnalia: A Roman festival honoring Saturn, marked by feasting, gift-giving, and revelry.
    • Yule: A Norse celebration featuring fires, feasts, and honoring the rebirth of the sun.
    2. Mithraism:
    • December 25 was also significant in Roman traditions as the birthday of Mithras, a deity associated with the sun.
The church likely incorporated these dates and customs to create a unified celebration that would attract converts.
    Cultural and Modern Developments:
    1. Medieval Christmas:
    • By the Middle Ages, Christmas became a significant festival in Europe, marked by church services and communal feasts.
    • Customs like caroling, gift-giving, and feasting began to develop during this period.
    2. 19th-Century Reinvention:
    • In the 1800s, Christmas gained its modern form, influenced by works like Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. The focus shifted to family, charity, and goodwill.
    • Iconic figures like Santa Claus were popularized during this time, blending the Dutch “Sinterklaas” with other folk traditions.
    3. Commercialization:
    • In the 20th century, Christmas became increasingly commercial, with an emphasis on decorations, gift-giving, and festive products.
    Modern Christmas:
Today, Christmas is celebrated worldwide, often blending religious, cultural, and secular traditions. For Christians, it remains a sacred observance of Jesus’ birth, while for many others, it is a cultural holiday centered on family, generosity, and joy.

I also took some offense at the premise that only Kwanza was 'fake', they're all pretty much fake in various ways, no serious theologian thinks Jesus was born on Dec 25 (or if he was somehow it would be coincidence). Christmas has almost no ties to Christianity in the US at this point, just like evangelicals don't have anything to do with Christianity.
Just to add, 'the church' as a unified thing happened during the Roman Empire, it was even the official religion eventually, and that's when most of the calendar was set up. Whenever you have a state religion the state always fiddles, and most of the 'convenience' things (like the timing for many Christian festivals) happened because a huge portion of the population was already going to be drunk that day, so everyone else might as well celebrate at the same time. It's not some Christian conspiracy to trick people, it was done because it was MUCH easier AND Christianity didn't make a point of setting dates in the Bible very often, IIRC the date of the first Christmas isn't known because the exact date is meaningless theologically. Same with Easter and spring festivals (and All Saints Day and the fall harvest festivals), no need to have several spring festivals. Heck, April 1 used to be New Years at one point, and it makes a LOT more sense than arguing the year 'starts' in January, at least spring is a season of regeneration and new growth, January is definitely not the time for new beginnings!

What I find it absolutely terrifying in the Drake vs Kendrick fued is how many more BROS knew about things like this happening in Drake's mansion and never spoke about it. I find it ironic how Kendrick is being celebrated when he sounds like an accomplice. Those men were all covering up for each other and if it weren't for them coming at each other's throat we'd have never known that Drake is pedophilic POS.

I sometimes make a big omelet for a meal, I'm a fairly big guy so it's generally a 5 egg affair, and let me tell you, that feels like a lot of egg! When I was doing construction work I'd often bring 3 hard boiled eggs to eat (and a bunch of fruit/veggies), even that really fills you up decently. It's crazy because I couldn't stand eggs as a kid, so when I had access to deviled eggs I didn't eat them. FWIW eggs are pretty good for you unless you have terrible cholesterol, and even if you do it's rarely caused by diet.
