I didn't see the race, but I saw the recap, I really don't understand why he got the penalty for colliding with Sargeant, it looks like he was well alongside, and sarge just drove straight into him
I've got a few reasons as follows.
-They touched front and rear wheels so although he should probably have left space that's not so much on Logan.
-Sargent is American and F1 already has the Americans displeased with the whole andretti business.
-Kmag has been a bit of a villain recently and they want him to calm down.
Yeah... from Kmag cam it's obvious Sargeant drove into KMag who had nowhere to go.

Then the KMag pitstop was claimed as not proper?!?! (also in the above video)
The FIA excuse I heard was when in the pit the team should've changed the tyres, but they didn't as he'd only changed tyres 3 laps earlier. So another 10 second penalty.
I can see KMag retiring to go live year round with the family, he's got enough cash (online networth search says $30M).
@@JasonAtlas i suspect the same about calming mag down, but that type of biased bullshit is the exact reason I refuse to pay for watching
But this incident was on Sargeant, it was obvious even before the corner that unless k-mag basically parked the car or left the track that he wouldn't have anywhere to go
If the roles were reversed, Magnussen would have had his race ban already
Oh yeah, and Sargeant went of the track when overtaking as well
Edit: I just watched the clip linked earlier, Sargeant should have handed the place back instead of continuing

He's not the cleanest, and I honestly don't think he belongs in f1, he doesn't have the pace, but the treatment he's gotten, especially during his second stint with the team, I'm truly impressed he hasn't left yet
he is a racer at hear, and he's fighting tooth and nail for his positions, but that is exactly what makes for exciting races, and more people should drive like him
Edit: I saw the clip, and that just reinforces my opinion that it was Sargeant at fault, especially since he left the track on the left side, then punted K-Mag on the right in the next corner
Lewis Hamilton: Lando Norris dominance could bore fans
Not an Hamilton fan, but seeing him pulling up alongside Norris and applauding him was very cool of him.
@@busybillyb33 Hamilton himself isn't bad, just his fan base that's usually awful.
Even though Hamilton cries on the radio for penalties as much as pro football players do, after the sprint race, he said he had a lot of fun racing KMag, and didn't really have anything against KMag for racing the way he did, especially since he owned up to it.
Idk what Lewis fans you know but I was cheering for Lando as a Lewis fan

I was scared lol. That was an interesting first half of the race though!
McLaren strategists were too busy sleeping for that.
Took too long pitting Oscar and JUST fluked Lando passed the SC.
Maybe McLaren stole the strategies from RBR that Carlos had uploaded from Ferrari 🤷♀
@@ChrispyNut the speed on the medium tyres were still better than those who pitted, lando was doing fastest laps after most of the grid had pitted and oscar was doing lap times close to that too, they weren't sleeping they were waiting for tyres to drop off and have newer tyres than the others, also waiting for a safety car can be a good thing
@@N3o3k8 Oscar was sufficiently slower that he'd long lost track position, which was important (as proven by the collision sending him to the back of the field) and they totally fluked Lando, SOOO nearly lost a whole bunch of positions. Putting a lap earlier would have been much safer and would have, in fact, still been about 80% covered by the SC.
Shoutout to Oscar for keeping up with Max AND defending against Ferrari during the first half of the race

it was Oscars race to lose and strategy fumble (not pitting before max/vsc) + sainz's incompetence made sure he had no chance. such a shame for him

Normally I would agree that the stewards are shit at their jobs but this time the comedy expert is showing his British bias. Verstappen get a fine because it was a practice session, whereas Hamilton was 10kph over during a race under safety car. Not the same and the stewards made the right and consistent call.

its crazy how after the full safety car, Lando was actually pulling further and further away from verstappen. The gap between Max and Charles was the same (about 2 seconds), but the one between Max and Lando was increasing very quickly. I felt as if I was watching another Verstappen race but it was actually a McLaren that was setting the pace in that second half of the race.
McLaren put themselves in a position to capitalize, and they did.
max had a steering prblm with his car
@@pacojr5125 and the reason is either team fuck up, that mclared did not do. Or the crash with bollard did some damage to steering, a mistake that lando did not do.
Maybe, just maybe bcs verstappen was on old tyres and steering problems, and lando had brand new tyres. What do you expect?
Not to take anything away from Lando's win, he drove perfectly, Max had a stroke of bad luck. He'd been having problems with understeering from lap one and by the time the safety car ended he was running on old hards.
Still, good showing from Lando, we all knew it was bound to happen sometime!

Tbh Kevin was well deserving of the sprint penalties, but the Logan incident is wild, he was 100% side by side, untill he realized Logan had not seen him, and he tried taking off speed, which ment he dropped a bit back before the contact
I don't believe he got his wheels up to level with Logan's mirrors. It's kind of a lame distinction, but that's basically how they've decided to determine if the overtaking car has the right to be there. Have to be at least that far up at both the apex and exit of the corner

I dont know that I agree he deserved that first penalty in the sprint. But after that one, sure. It felt like the stewards took less than 60 seconds to decide the penalty for the Sargeant incident, though, which makes me mad. They just saw Kevin's name and decided it was his fault.
@@taxag1134 after the first penalty his race for points was over and all he could do was help Hulk get points. If the penalty for cutting corners is such that it can be used to gain an advantage, then it is the rules that are bad

I think its the best race of this year but as a race it was a 6 to a 7
But as a weekend we need to praise lord Magnussen for making the entire weekend from a good to a great weekend for the sprint and the race

I was at the Miami GP this weekend and I do have to say that the sprint race is so much better in person. I didn’t mind the sprint races before going but after I loved it. Race was amazing live other than watching sargeant crash right in front of me 24 hrs after I bought his merch.

It took Lando almost 6 months to make up for his mistake at Austin, and he did it, he did what Jenson Button did at Hungary 2006, beat someone in the their Prime.

Max and RB ridiculous consistency are masking the fact that the cars are extremely close in a lot of tracks. Not only this year, but since 2022. Max probably won 10+ races in the last 3 years where his car was second best or at least equal. Today it was clear that the RBs were no better than Ferrari and Mclaren were actually slightly ahead of the field.
With that said, Norris is a beast, he deserves a chance to fight for a title.

The best but about this win was on the lead up to the weekend Lando had a lie detector test with Simon Lazenby and he was asked ‘Are you going to win a race this season?’ Which Lando replied yes and wasn’t lying

I was on a cruise ship in Miami watching the Miami race live on TV last weekend. I never get to watch live races, so this was a doubly awesome thing for me. Fun race, too!

10 out of 10 race first time going to one in person and it was giant party people celebrating his win the track yes can a bit stale at points but this year was truly one of a kind I’m so happy as a McLaren fan

As a neutral, I could not be happier than to see Lando's first win. He bloody deserved it. It was obviously a popular win amongst the other drivers too, which was lovely. This will be the first of many, I'm sure! 🏆🎆

When that post came up, as I came to realize yesterday, the menu was apparently posted without context. For one thing, that was the menu in the VIP sections, and then nor did it explain if it was multiple servings as it did last year.

Honestly, that car looked good this weekend, and not just because of the livery. It looked closer to the Aston Martin and Mercedes than to the rest of the bottom 5 teams' cars. Haas wasn't far behind either

A lap earlier on that safety car could've potentially been brilliant. The McLaren's and Sainz right ahead of Verstappen would've been great entertainment.
I had K Mag as my DoD. He just wreaked havoc the whole weekend and turned the main race completely upside down. In all truth, though. What a drive by Lando.
