@@Sargatas this is what I feel like for his first phase after beating it once. I barely even get hit anymore, but his second phase? Blasts me into the ground every single fucking time

Rather than running and dodging around, I just blocked, attacked, and jumped when necessary. Once I switched to this strategy I killed the boss on my first try. This game REALLY wants you to embrace its combat mechanics
Exactly, it demands you learn its main mechanic, and it feels oh so fucking good when one does. Every single enemy gets recontextualized when you know what you're supposed to do.
When i finally killed him ( i don't even know how many tries it took me) and saw that he fucking resurrected and is throwing lightnings at me, i almost un-installed the game at that very moment. But i did eventually beat his ass, still having all my resurrections intact. Best feeling ever.
@@tanishkvamne4714 Yeah i thought about it but i want to "play fair" haha I've beaten Genichiro's ass in a fair fight, so no monkey will stand in my way. At least i hope, bc my patience is definitely slowly running out

This video is exactly why Sekiro is the greatest FromSoft game, and also perfectly demonstrates why most fans of FromSoft games hated it when it first released. There are SOME tools that allow you to cheese, like the umbrella used in this video, but they cannot be relied upon. For the most part, the game demands understanding and mastery of the core mechanics which the entire combat system is built around. And Genchiro is the skill check: you WILL learn how to parry, you WILL learn the rhythm of the boss fight, or you will not progress the game. There's no grinding to level up, there's no sprinting through a dungeon to get a magic item that gives you a spell you can spam, there's not even summons to bring in other players to help you win. There is only your own skill, and the grindstone that you must sharpen it against. Watching Sekiro footage from a player who has mastered the game is like watching a dance. There's a rhythm to the flow of combat that is absolutely beautiful, and once you see it you can also see yourself learning it.
@@sara-hc7wb its not about chip damage. If youve played charmless then youd know that the enemy's posture damage would be smaller, and that your posture damage is proportionately larger which means missed deflects could easily lead to more posture breaks and inversely takes a long time for the enemy's to do so.
