Grilled Chicken Pitas are easy to make and you can get really creative with the flavors & fillings. Today I went with a Greek Chicken Souvlaki style. We had some really nice weather over the weekend and I wanted some summer flavors. The cucumber Greek Yougurt sauce is a must.
I bought a new grill as well. This is the ‪@millscalemetalworks687‬ Yakitori Grill. I love the creativity/innovation and quality this company puts into their products. This is a Yakitori Grill with two towers that you can move the grates up and down... it reminds me of a Santa Maria style grill.
For the Sauce you will need:
    2 Cups of Greek Yogurt
1 cucumber peeled, sliced thin, seeds removed
    1 Tablespoon prepared garlic
    Juice from half a lemon
    2 Tablespoons dried mint
    Salt to taste
    Pinch of cayanne
    1 Teaspoon white pepper
    2 Tablespoons olive oil
For the chicken/marinade you will need:
    3 large chicken breasts
    1/2 cup Greek yogurt
    Juice of one lime
    1 Tablespoon prepared garlic
    1 Tablespoon Kosher salt
    1 teaspoon white pepper
    2 Tablespoons olive oil
    For the topping I used:
1 bunch of roughly chopped parsley
    1/2 red onion
    1/2 large tomato
    Salt and pepper to taste
    Juice from 1/2 lemon
    2 Tablespoons olive oil
    Chapeters:
    0:00 Introduction
    0:27 Cucumber Yogurt Sauce
    3:33 Grilled Chicken Marinade
    6:14 Mill Scale Metalworks Yakitori
9:29 Toppings for the Grilled Chicken Pita

Try using a shredder and then putting salt on them in a strainer. It will draw the water out and then rinse them.

Can you do something discussing pros and cons of the grill? How do you keep it from rusting i.e is it stored inside when not in use or covered? Learning curve of using it? I am considering getting one but need to convince the wife. Would help being confident it’s the right cooker for me. I was looking at a Chud box but this seems to achieve what the box does with direct fire cooking.

I like to think of it as a mini fire pit with grill grates. This is not for everyone though...
      Cons:
No lid like most grills. This makes it impossible to cook on if its raining and you don't have a covered patio.
Price: The grill is expensive and so is the cart.
Storage: Without a lid I have to wait until the coals go out (or I have to remove the hot coals) before I can roll it back into the garage.
      Pros:
This will last several lifetimes if taken care of (I store mine in the garage and occasionally wipe it down with mineral oil to mitigate rust).
Entertainment value/ Conversation Piece (It is fun to cook on)
You become proficient with cooking over a live fire (an important survival skill for a grid down scenario)
      Final comments:
As a content creator on RUclips, I bought this solely for creating grilling content that is a little different than the run of the mill content that is out there.
I would only recommend this to an enthusiast. A Weber Kettle would be my first choice for someone who is just looking to make dinner.
A smokeless firepit with cooking grates may be a better choice for most people.

How do you like the Mill Scale? To be honest, the yakitori looks smaller in the video than it does in pictures. Do you find its big enough? Ideally, would love their 94 gallon offset, however, I feel like I’d get much more use out of the yakitori as an every weekend kind of grill.

    • @WeekendWarriorBBQ
      @WeekendWarriorBBQ  2 года назад +1

Hi, Alex. I really like the Yakitori but its all going to come down to how many people you are cooking for. Its a really expensive grill that I bought for cooking but also for entertaining our guests & RUclips viewers. It has (4) 14" x 14" cooking grates but I've only used two thus far. You'll get a better sense of the size of it in this video... ruclips.net/video/u80OAshev58/видео.html
I have the Asado Fire Pit on order which has a ton of space so stay tuned for that...

@@WeekendWarriorBBQ appreciate the insight. The majority of the time. Would only be cooking for 2-3 people, so I’m assuming this is plenty big. Enjoy the Amado when you get it!

I would guess, that you’re wearing a lav Mike, as you stood in the blurred background (& thoroughly acceptable to be standing inside the out of focus in the “bokeh” realm.”
My point; your audio, wether near or far from the camera, was was on point, well done.

Looks like a fun grill, but it's really more of a konro-inspired take on a Santa Maria grill. I wish they had picked a different name though, as it would not actually be a good grill for doing yakitori cuisine.

Love the video and the Mill Scale Yakitori! What is the height of their cart? What’s the lowest food grate height when on the cart? I’m 6’ so trying to sort out how this would work for me.
