  • A wellness check in Detroit turned into something entirely different when police arrived at a home whose resident hadn't been seen or heard from in weeks. Unfortunately, the homeowner was found dead inside the home, the city's general service department director said. No foul play was suspected - however, police found something else when they entered the residence.

Hopefully the sanctuary will be a good one. What you might know, that a lot of people don't, is gators will grow based on environment. If they are held in a small enclosure, they will only grow to the size of it, because their growth will be stunted. This poor gator might be older than it looks. You are right though, she does not look healthy.
I despise stupid humans who do this. I have rescued animals in many states, and that includes wildlife. I have gators in the canal behind my home currently. They are amazing and need to just be free to do their own thing...live.

For those worried about the "poor gator" on the hot pavement- obviously you've never spent an hour or two in your car in July with the ac broken because a gator decided to crawl out into the road and block traffic before. There's nothing you can do, either. Just have to wait until theyre ready to leave. If hot pavement bothered them, they wouldn't go chill out on the damn road for an hour when you have some place to be. This isn't a person with regular skin or even a dog with paw pads- it's an alligator that is practically covered in vinyl and doesn't have nerve endings the same as humans.
