  • Gonarezhou is amongst Zimbabwe’s finest Parks, and camping at one of its many exclusive campsites is amongst Zimbabwe’s most rewarding wilderness experiences. But for the first-timer to the Park, knowing which campsite to choose can be a little overwhelming. In this helpful video, Part Three of his Seven-Part Into The Wild Zimbabwe series on Gonarezhou, Gus Le Breton talks you through each one of the 21 wilderness, exclusive and transit camps in the Park, so you can make an informed decision before your next trip. Perfect preparation for those planning a visit, and tantalising viewing for the armchair African explorer!
Grateful thanks to the Gonarezhou Conservation Trust, Dave Brazier, Buck O'Donoghue and Jo Craig for their support and assistance in making this video.

We need you as a guide. Zoology Botany Geology everything. Zim was missing millions of tourists because of their former Marxism, I see things are improving I hope.

Thanks, and you're right about Gonarezhou's future getting busy. Deservedly so. One thing I can pretty much guarantee, though. You will have a fantastic time there when you get there!

Hi Gus. My husband and I are blown away by the beauty of this park, so well presented in your videos. We have done quite a bit of overlanding through our neighbouring countries but never Gonarezhou. After watching your videos, we have decided to a longish trip including Mapungubwe and then, through Pafuri to Gona. My question is, how accessible would these camps be towing a Bushlapa. We will only be contemplating doing it in the dry season. Any info with regards to pulling a trailer would be appreciated. Thanks for a fabulous series of videos.

Thanks and sorry for only having seen this now. Gonarezhou is not easy country for trailers. People do make it work and its definitely not impossible, but be prepared for some adventure!

@@AfricanPlantHunter Morning Gus. Thanks for the feedback. We are always in for adventure. We have done quite a bit of overlanding with trailers, from very wet Mozambique to Chitake Springs in Mana Pools. Would Gonarezhou fit into this category on the "adventure" scale?

Hi Gus, loving your videos! We are due to go to Gonarezhou end June, 2 years delayed due to COVID. What is Gayiseni camp site like? We are running short of days and want to find out if it is worth the extra few days to stay here? We will be coming from Chamulavati. Hope to hear from you soonest.
    Thanks,
    Kim

Gayiseni is beautiful, but I believe it is now closed, sadly. There are plenty of other nice campsites to visit though!
