@@randomguy1928 I completely agree especially when people like Magellan and Caesar were only playable for a couple games then cut..... That screams laziness to me from the outside looking in
PW3 is the best musou so far. Best OP recap story mode so far. So many tasks to do. Optional in-level story missions. PW3 has BETTER combat such as Assist crew system, Easier-to-hit Supers, Supers with high priority, Wall bounces/combos, Smarter enemy AI, and Dodge offset which opens up new combo possibilities. Also 3 has great replayability with each character level capped to 50. Up to LVL50 can be paid but with Break limit, allows to reach to LVL100 max. To reach 100, you have to PLAY as a character IN-GAME. Not pay your way like PW4.
The removal of Kizuna Rush, the addition of the jump mechanic and the feeling that you can't do much else after finishing Treasure Log really make PW4 worse for me (also, not having classic Chopper), but the gameplay is much smoother in 4, so having a combination of both in 5 would be good
the ability to actually jump made the game worse?? lmao whenever someone says 3 is better then 4 they never have good reasons other then the amount of content lmfao
@@nomight273 it did. The air combos are an awful mechanic. And it's not like you can just choose not to engage in them, since there are entire characters dedicated to it (which ruins them). Aerial characters suck
@@Alexyahoo10They stripped so much that was in PW3 from PW4. I still think PW4 is good, but PW3 is the better game, and it’s not even close. PW4 feels complete and incomplete at the same time. The levels are more open world and it’s beautiful, but at the risk of less maps. There are more characters, but at the same time we lost The Thriller Bark characters,Kuma and even Garp. I like the giant characters and the OP characters, but we needed more characters and more maps. Bigger isn’t always better, even when I’m still playing PW3 where I still haven’t beaten the Nightmare Mode to completion.
I just got pw3 today and, where it has certain features i really like (triangle strings, fun mix up ults--if you put law and sanji together for example you get counter strike witch is funny, or marco and luffy u get pheonix cannon) but 4 just feels so good to play. Smooth, fast, much better looking.
I could honestly point out the good and bad for each game for hours, but here's how it goes for me: Story OPPW3: 6.5/10 OPPW4: 7.5/10 Although OPPW3 has pretty much every major arc in the story, they aren't really done all that great, and often change it around. OPPW4 doesn't have as many stages, but the story is (almost) exactly the same. Side Missions OPPW3: 10/10 OPPW4: 5/10 Easy win for OPPW3 here. More missions that progressively get harder and harder, keeping you coming back to the game. The bounty system was also pretty unique. Characters OPPW3: 8/10 OPPW4: 7.5/10 I'm honestly pretty split here. OPPW3 included all the major characters, but not enough of them were playable. It also included many, many NPCs. OPPW4 had a lot of great new characters, but got rid of extremely important and fun playable characters. There were a few wasted slots from each game (Tashigi, the Vinsmokes, Perona, etc.), but I definitely think the inclusion of the Vinsmokes bring OPPW4 down a notch for me. I'm only giving OPPW4 a 7.5/10 because of the DLC inclusions. Combos OPPW3: 7/10 OPPW4: 8/10 Honestly, my only gripe with OPPW4 is that many characters don't have air combos, but other than that, most characters have more moves than OPPW3. Combat OPPW3: 7/10 OPPW4: 10/10 Self explanatory.
I agree with this. For the overall combat, OPPW4 is generally better in that they added many more moves with air combos and accessibility to specials with R1, but man did they drop the ball when they did away with foundational and important feautures. The fact that they took away the triangle string of combos and offered many of those combo finishers as very weak R1 specials really hurt many characters and the overall versitility. It seems like you have waaay more moves but you really don't, because you can only have 4 active R1 specials which means a good number of specials are never touched once you unlock the 3 and 4 star specials. These remaining 1, 2 and even some 3 star specials should have been delegated to the finisher moves of a triangle combo string and the current charge attack should have been moved back to R2 like in OPPW3. The other cardinal sin imo is the dash mechanic. The dash is really weird in that you dash in the direction of the character and not in the direction you choose with the analog. They also made the dash reset combos once used. These two features make for very awkward placement and what many times feels like jerky and inefficient combat setups. This is felt especially on higher difficulty settings and maps where efficiency and timing is key. The dash in OPPW3 was probably the most versitile feature of any musou game i have played since and is one of the things that made PW3 stand out for me. I honestly expected these previous mechanics and extra combos to at least be tied to some of the character types. For example, the technique type suffers the most from the lack of the triangle string as many of their cool techniques are never used since you will swap them for stronger ones when unlocked. The speed types suffer the most from the new limited dash mechanics since they have longer combos to get to their finisher moves so the dash mechanic from OPPW3 would really help with fleshing their speed aesthetic more.
If pirate warriors 5 has all the characters from PW1 to PW4 , more locations, Outfits & a longer treasure maps then we would all have the best Pirate warriors. I like the menus and special move options on PW4. PW3 had a lot more outfits.
Pirate warriors 4 has better music and combat. pirate warrior's 3 has better side missions and gimmicks with the team attacks. then again pirate warriors 4 gimmicks are giants characters and boss battles which are cool and 4 player coop.
Pirate Warriors 3 is better in my opinion because the gameplay is so much more difficult. In pirate warriors 4 I can beat the hardest treasure cruise quest in 15 minutes with top tiers but with low tiers you can't even pass the admiral without needing to find meat you might even lose to Crocodile cause they don't do enough armour damage. Also, if the character is bad in 4, it really shows. Like Chopper, Robin, Bege are all cool and have some unique moves but it's just not the zip around and speed through everything that the top tiers in that game. In 3 though everything feels streamline and just feels right. Sanji is also a useful character in 3. Him being a flying type really crippled him and his highest damage ULT wiffs too much. He even struggles to get people in the air. If you want to even play Sanji you can't use the FFB which gives you extra damage.
Imagine if we have mechanic, dream log and movesets from oppw3 but character, graphic, environment destruction from oppw4 and story since the very first arc up until wano That'll be the best one piece game ever
Pirates Warriors 3 is a tighter, more responsive and better realised game while PW4 feels like it has identity issues with that so called Air Combat that comes off as half baked at times( Characters in the Air while mobs are on the ground? )and causing more harm than good with characters pathetically being removed because they didn't adhere to it( Koei it was your idea why punish the players for your bad ideas? )The combat wheel served to rearrange options and disarm players rather than add new skills as promised. While three straight up lied about "Red Hawk Gatling" Four reportedly lied about having a game mode advertised in the trailer. New characters are nice but there are no new stages added as well? I hope Koei is working on rectifying this( By adding new stages... and the characters they removed from three... *for free* ) Oh and PW3s dash cancelling >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> any of Four's "new mechanics"
For the most part I can say hands down I agree with u man when I do air combos I usually have to use ones that aim at the ground for example ichiji's fire ball he launches at the ground from the air but other then that that's it
PW3 wins hands down. While PW4 was fun, they tried to reinvent the wheel, which ended up changing too much of the solid core mechanics. This change also led to the unintended consequence of nerfing certain characters by removing the T combo chains and adding the jump to air combos, which while fun are not actually adding anything meaningful. The roster in PW3 is also the most solid, yes new characters and forms are always fun, but PW4 removing characters wasn't a good move. Additionally like stated above, certain characters got nerfed just by changing mechanics so much between games. Not to mention that PW4 has the most unbalanced roster so far.
@nomight273 Ya, that's certainly an opinion you can have. It's wrong, but you can have it. While PW4 has a bigger roster, it's far from the best. As for the mechanics and gameplay, you're objectively just wrong. The loss of triangle strings and Kizuna is a huge loss of combo potential and fun. The addition of jump and air combos actually serves to hinder characters more than anything. It even actively nerfed characters and, as a whole, was poorly implemented. The only "good" mechanic added was the way it handles special moves, but that's it.
@imliketurtle1612 An opinion can certainly be wrong. Liking something is fine, claiming it's better because you like it, isn't. PW3 is a better game than PW4.
