I agree with OPPW4, I played it and I was hooked immediately! My anime game days were left behind in the PS2 era but I gave the game a try and liked it. After that I went backwards and played OPPW3, which was a bad idea because the Steam port for the PC was awful. The camera turning was almost nonexistend and some of the Xbox One controller inputs weren't even responding. The settings was overwhelming with the added Kizuna attack made the game confusing. I liked the simplicity of 4 better, and it was a plug and play game, I didn't have to change any settings. I read on Steam guides that you needed a third party software just to make OPPW3 work fully on controller which is crazy. Anyways, I really care about completing games so I sucked it up and tried playing the game a bit each day. Again, very clunky game on PC would not reccomend, but I do recommend OPP4!
I personally loved Pirate Warriors 1 for its unique gameplay style and mechanics, but yeah, I can definitely see why most don’t lol. Honestly, my biggest complaint with the first game is the frame-rate on actual PS3 hardware. Anyways, awesome video! I like all four games tbh 😊
One piece Pirate warriors 1 and 4 have the best story mode,1 Also has good Gameplay variety like the quick time events and platform elements that use Luffy powers. Boss Battles in One piece Pirate warriors 3 suck but the ones of Pirate warriors 1 are still the best due to how accurate they are with the anime and manga(like hitting crocodile with water to hit him).
PW3 is hands down the best of these 4. PW4 is new and of course it's nice to have newer characters, but for all the new stuff they took away or straight ruined a bunch of other stuff. Sky combat didn't even add anything that having T combo strings didn't already do but better, and they extended certain characters move sets to compensate but lowered others crippling their move lists, especially for characters that have no aerial combat. While I do like the way special forms and ultimate moves were handled in PW4, the rest of the combat is floaty and lack luster. There was also a stunning lack of content, it took me about 1/4 the time to 100% PW4 than it did for PW3, and the removal of nightmare log was a big loss. PW3 was as tight as it could get and I wish they hadn't tried to reinvent the gameplay in the first place.

Your bias is also showing, also, you being able to cancel your combos into new combos for you to destroy even more your enemies isn't "clunky controls", it is combo cancel and it exists in pretty much a lot of fighting games, take that with the specials you can change a long with dash cancel and jump cancel and you can literally destroy your enemies and feel like you have mastery over your character. OPPW4 have way better gameplay and tight controls than OPPW3. No i am not being biased because i actually prefer OPPW3 roster, visuals, soundtrack, and pretty much everything else, also the intro is stuck in my head since the release of this blessed game. BUT, i really liked the structure of actually choosing some arcs and going more in depth in them than OPPW3 rushed story. Yes i miss some characters, but seriously, i have never played a Warriors game that have a combo system as tight and open for creativity as OPPW4. It really is some good stuff. I have favorite things every one of the games, like OPPW1 Story and Visuals, OPPW2 "What ifs" weird cutscenes that you had in that other mode i don't remember the name lol. And pretty much everything in OPPW3, like the visuals, the hud, EVERYTHING. But it's not a better game with tighter controls or combat. It's a mostly rushed game with a lot of flawed new mechanics shoehorned in to make it feel new, but they tried to fix what wasn't broken. You can dash cancel in Pw2 and Pw3 as well. In fact, it's even easier and feels better because you don't go flying off, and there is no stamina. The jumping is a mess, and as a mechanic activity, it made the game worse off for its inclusion, which amounted to nothing good. I will give you that the way it handled special moves/modes was pretty good, but I wouldn't say better, just different. Regardless implying that Pw4 actually feels better or is at all a tighter game is just incorrect. Personally, though, I do not care about the story portion of any of these games since I read the manga, I don't need or care about a recap. Pw2 is the exception, I guess, but I still mostly cared about the combat and mechanics in that as well. So I don't think it holds much weight in regards to which game is better. @@harlock1550 You can't "Dash Cancel" OPPW3 or OPPW2, the term literally does not match, you can dash mid combo to reposition or to delay attacks but you cannot string combo to special with dash cancel like OPPW4, or combo to combo, or combo to air to combo to special, or literally anything like that. I don't know why people call it Dash Cancel, but it literally does not work like Dash Cancel in any other game. Also you cannot use level 2 or 3 special without stopping to charge it, you cannot string specials. There is so much limitations with the other games. I also do not get the "fly away" when you dash, you can literally Dash the distance you want by holding it or just tapping. I wasn't being condecending, i said that you also were being biased, because you were, and still are. As i said i personally prefer OPPW4 because i value Gameplay over Story in games. But anything else i prefer OPPW3. You can comment what you think, but when you were complaining about the combat it really sounded that you were disingenuous, or just straight up not knowing how to combat even thought you did 100%. In OPPW4 you can literally choose your specials with the thought of stringing combos even more, you can plan it to do in the ground or in the air. If you want the One Piece Pirate warriors game that is going to be the best content for your hard earned cash. Then I would highly suggest Pirate Warriors 3. As that game covers a lot of ground in terms of story, character selection, and replay value. If your looking for a One Piece game that feels like Warriors Orochi, pick up Pirate warriors 4,just skip the base and get the deluxe version you will thank me later.
I'm playing 4 (the edition with all the DLC and what not was in offer the other day for the Switch) and so far I'm having fun with it but as a fan of the manga I'm kind of dissapointed with how much of the story it's skipping (no East Blue, no Sky Island, no Thriller Bark or Impel Down and now it's gone from Shabaody straight to Dressrosa). I'm specially disappointed because I think they've left out a lot of fan favourite characters (like Enel or Perona). Does Pirate Warriors 3 have the same problem? Because if it does a better job going through the arcs I may buy it eventually.
@@tximinoman As someone who had zero Idea about the Thriller Bark arc. I fully believe that I got quite the foot notes playing Pirate Warriors 3. That I will fully recommend it over 4 for that vary resin. Not to mention in PW3 you get to play as both Enel and Perona. The latter would have made a grate tech type in PW4. If your going to get PW3, I would wait for other deluxe edition sale.
I'd say the main thing that hurts PW4 is the lack of content in comparison to PW3, specifically the missing characters that got a mention but that's it. PW1 is more an exploration game that uses DW mechanics, it doesn't help that Luffy is pretty much the only fleshed out character and the rest are just sorta okay with Whitebeard being just sorta there as a nice reward. PW2 plays so much better than PW1 that you can honestly just skip PW1, even with the okay story mode it's still much more fun than PW2. PW3 feels like they've tried to combine the storytelling of PW1 (to the point of reusing cutscenes for arcs they'd already covered those arcs) and the better gameplay of PW2, so if you're looking for a One Piece PW game that is the closest to "classic" DW I'd say PW3 is still worth playing.
I would put Pirate Warriors 3 above of 4 just cause of the content. OPPW3 Dream log should've continued to OPPW4, 4 has low replay value compared to 3, and that's a huge factor for me. OPPW4 is obviously superior to OPPW3 but the lack of content really hurts one side.

kaizoku musou 2 is by far the best of the series. no hero mode bs every single strong enemy, no stupid shild gauge just to do actual damage, you could choose your partner from the very start for example teaming up as chopper and perona or zoro and tashigi, in the awakening mode you can even walk with your supported character, 3 had this weird kizuna mode thats just a special move with the annoying money effect, its also quite a drag to fill that gauge, 4 doesnt even have a support character system, its just a "hit down the shield and keep mashing and keep moving" 2 was just way better executed gameplay wise, you could actually fight people who ACTUALLY fights back instead of just staying there for you just to mash at them and it had its own unique story. if i had to rank. 2 > 3 > 4 > 1
I tired pirate warriors 4 and I had only watched up to alabasta before but it inspired me to get back into it . I put the game down after alabasta on oppw4 but now that I’m at wano in the anime I’m finally giving it a proper go !
Pirate Warriors 3 is what GOT me into One Piece lol. I just wanted a cheap musou game and ended up liking the story and characters enough to FINALLY watch it.
I like the new skill set system they introduced in 4 cause they have so many different moves and then being restricted to a combo or not even being in the game is pretty boring, also it’s a thing that makes pirate warriors different
To me I think 3rd pirate warrior game is best since that was first game I played of the one piece warriors games. Anytime I play 3rdcgame I skip over story mode and go to l the dream mode
1 & 2 were pretty much alpha version, I had so much fun with PW3 but some characters were way too powerful. PW4 may getting some hate but it was clearly an upgrade despise the missing key characters and copy and paste units but new upgraded special ability were great
The only thing I like in PW4 is the gameplay and the background, nothing more, the cutscenes, texture of characters, details, more arcks, the voice acting, the missions (where you could side with whenever army you liked, in PW4 you can't do that) is better in PW3. I really don't like the new texture of the characters, they look like plastic most of the time, while in PW3, their skins look tough, also more details on muscle and "that" part on females. And yes the cutscenes have more effects in PW4 but that it, I mentioned that I didn't liked the new texture?
I love the third most and the fourth to but third more and fourth is second best and then fist game third best and second one least and last best hate it the most.

I hate PW 4 for being like that. 1. Cut the Episodes like Skypia, Punk Hazard, Impel Down, Thriller Bark 2. Cut the Charakteres out of the Game like Magelan, Enel, Perona, Kuma. 3. Yeah I love Kuma, Perona, Moria, and Garp and they took them all out!! But they left Tashigi and other boring characters in... No fair

no hero mode bs every single strong enemy, no stupid shild gauge just to do actual damage, you could choose your partner from the very start for example teaming up as chopper and perona or zoro and tashigi, in the awakening mode you can even walk with your supported character, 3 had this weird kizuna mode thats just a special move with the annoying money effect, its also quite a drag to fill that gauge, 4 doesnt even have a support character system, its just a "hit down the shield and keep mashing and keep moving" 2 was just way better executed gameplay wise, you could actually fight people who ACTUALLY fights back instead of just staying there for you just to mash at them and it had its own unique story.

I originally got in 2 one piece through the dynasty warriors games. It condensed the story and fed it 2 me beautifully

I tired pirate warriors 4 and I had only watched up to alabasta before but it inspired me to get back into it . I put the game down after alabasta on oppw4 but now that I’m at wano in the anime I’m finally giving it a proper go !

Pirate Warriors 3 is what GOT me into One Piece lol. I just wanted a cheap musou game and ended up liking the story and characters enough to FINALLY watch it.
I like the new skill set system they introduced in 4 cause they have so many different moves and then being restricted to a combo or not even being in the game is pretty boring, also it’s a thing that makes pirate warriors different

1 & 2 were pretty much alpha version, I had so much fun with PW3 but some characters were way too powerful. PW4 may getting some hate but it was clearly an upgrade despise the missing key characters and copy and paste units but new upgraded special ability were great
this game is a good way to relive the anime series, im down for it

3 is way better than 4 though.
The only thing I like in PW4 is the gameplay and the background, nothing more, the cutscenes, texture of characters, details, more arcks, the voice acting, the missions (where you could side with whenever army you liked, in PW4 you can't do that) is better in PW3. I really don't like the new texture of the characters, they look like plastic most of the time, while in PW3, their skins look tough, also more details on muscle and "that" part on females. And yes the cutscenes have more effects in PW4 but that it, I mentioned that I didn't liked the new texture?

I hate PW 4 for being like that.
1. Cut the Episodes like Skypia, Punk Hazard, Impel Down, Thriller Bark
2. Cut the Charakteres out of the Game like Magelan, Enel, Perona, Kuma.
3. Cut the Attacks with the Buttons like PW 2 and make it like Spezial Moves. Thats shit.
4. This shit Shild broke mehanic is shit. I hate it so much for the Enemies.
5. More and More Money for DLC Charakter, thats shit shit shit. And we can not Play as Pica or Jack how also is in this shit Game but 5 Charakter of the Germa 66 ?
